- In todays adventure our plans change at the last minute due to some severe weather conditions. Our original plan was for a wild camp on Ingleborough but with weather warnings for thunder, lightening and heavy rain we decided it would be better to leave this for another day.
We could have bailed on the whole weekend but given we have access to a camper van we decided to make use of this and go on a road trip around North Yorkshire. We packed our cameras, got the maps out and chose a few places to visit, Malham Cove, Scaleber Force, Settle and Winskill Stones Nature Reserve were now our destination for the weekend.
As we arrived at Malham the rain had started to fall and the weather was looking ominous, waterproofs and rain covers on the bags we headed out to the Cove. Arriving at the foot of the Cove the weather had changed and the sun had broke through the clouds, this was our chance to get the Mavic Mini 3 pro drone out and grab some pics with the Canon R camera.
We then headed over to Scaleber Force waterfall, grabbed a quick brew and a few shots of the waterfall, unfortunately there wasn't much water flowing so we packed up and headed down into Settle for our tea.
After a lovely bit of pub grub in the Talbot Inn and a quick pint we headed up to Winskill Stones to check the lone tree, this was also the place we intended to stay in the camper van. During the night the rain showeres were heavy but the morning brought some brighter weather conditions, we grabbed a couple of shots of the lone tree before heading back to Settle for some breakfast.
I know this is not my usual type of adventure but hope you enjoyed it all the same.....

Always find so amazing are all the stone fences...so intriguing. Lovely falls for sure. Look like the weather is similar to Nova Scotia...wait a few minutes and it will all change. Bruce and Otis
Cheers Bruce, yes the weather is very changeable at the moment. Thanks very much for watching mate 👍
Best change of plans considering the weather forecast. Good trip out in the end Phil. I swear by taking Garlic pearls for repelling the insects. Seems to work for me! Nice one Phil👌
Nice one Joe not heard the garlic one before but worth a try. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Yep - the weather sure has changed for this weekend too.
Not much good for the rest of the week from what we can see.
What an experience. Nice photo.
But with that noisy rain I would not have got any sleep = grumpy morning. 🤣😂👍
Thanks for braving the weather to bring us some entertainment Phil.💯👍
Have a great Sunday everyone from Paul & Kathy GB🤝👍
Cheers Paul/Kathy ye the weather has certainly changed, fingers crossed it comes back 🤞 I always wear earplugs when I’m out camping so the noise is drowned out 👍 Thanks very much for watching really appreciate it ATB Phil
We have had a drought and bone dry conditions for over a month here so I wonder who it was responsible from bring the bad weather - now I know! We visited Malham Cove almost 2 years ago, taking in the amazing Gordale Scar and the magical Janet's Foss waterfall for the fist time in a 5 mile loop and had a brilliant day, fair enough the weather has superb but like you say, you had to make the most of it and fair play you did end up with some nice shots - not keen on those cows mind! Cheers Alan.
Haha ye always makes me wonder Alan lucky Tony I say. Done Gordale and the waterfall, nice walk that one. Cows were pushing their luck, I was just about to pounce but he turned back lol. Cheers for watching mate 👍
