Like all OCD, magical thinking is based on, and fueled by, fear: if I don't obey my OCD's directives something bad will happen. If I wear this shirt I will have bad luck; if I don't count or tap or whatever in the right order the right number of times, it will mean disaster; if I don't do this ritual or say this prayer correctly I will be punished. It's this fear--terror, really--that imparts strength to OCD. And since it's emotion- and not logic-based, it seems very, very, very real. Terrifyingly real. And that's why it's so hard to overcome.

"Listening to a religious station for comedy.". " What saves is luck." Jesus Saves? Security is a superstition. "The only safe people are dead people.". IDBC. Everybody dies. No one gets out alive. Magical thinking. Death is an illusion. Reincarnation, heaven or hell. Magical thinking. 🤔😇😎
