This video is perfect. I just pulled out my buddy's diff out of his 2005 cts-v following everything you did. Putting in the SRX diff tomorrow. Thanks for uploading the best diff pull on youtube.
I agree, great video. I have a 2007 cts-v, what is the part number for the SRX differential. I noticed GM made a 4th generation cts-v differential as well, part number 25873498 released in 2008. Any opinion on the SRX differential being better?
Wow, what a well kept secret. Thanks for that tidbit. I’m gonna start to diagnose my leak maybe I can send you pics or vids if I get stuck. I still gotta have the car towed to my where I’m gonna work on it and then start. I’m also looking for some wheel dollies prior to starting.
Made a checklist for myself, thought I would share • 02 sensors • Cat-back exhaust • 13mm • Drive shaft • 8mm Allen • Wheel • 19mm • Caliper • 18mm ○ Top shorter • Rotor • Pin T47 • Axel nut • 34mm Deep Impact • Ball Joint but • 21mm • Loosen, don't remove • Tap out w/ 1/2 extension • Then remove • Tie Rod • 21mm • Trailing arm • 21mm socket & wrench • Control arm • 21mm • Lower shock mount • 21mm • ABS Sensor • Pry hub out • Remove axel • Diff ○ Front: 21mm socket & wrench. Remove nut, leave bolt ○ Remove 2 side bolts ○ Support diff w/ jack ○ Pry to pop other axel ○ Lower while prying diff off axel
Phillip Holzinger the hole on top is just a vent. And to pop the axle in you litteraly just stab them in . There are some snap rings on the axle but you don’t have to do anything but push them in.
@@sethweihrauch9634 Yes it did and i found out that an 05 differential will fit on a 2004 by the way . Everything was fitted and bolted nicely and it functioned nicely too

Glad it helped!
Did I read that correctly? The Cadillac SRX little SUV dif fits the V and is sturdy?
@@chrisreynolds2410 exact fit. Posi and just a little taller gears. My buddy has thrashed on it and no issues or signs of wear.

Very late on the video but do you know if cts and Ctsv axles are different I’m trying to get my hands on V1 axles but I don’t wanna buy used!
This walkthrough is superb.
If you follow in those exact steps the process should be smooth
I just wanna know which parts would I have to mess with to do an alignment in the back of my cadillac?
quick question , will a CTS10900A-Alum diff fit on a 04 ??
As for the new diff, what do you do with the whole on top, and how do you snap the axels back in?
Phillip Holzinger the hole on top is just a vent. And to pop the axle in you litteraly just stab them in . There are some snap rings on the axle but you don’t have to do anything but push them in.
Can i use a cts v2 diff in a v1
Are your subframe bushings upside down?
Would this work on a regular cts?
I’m doing the same, did you ever get an answer to your question?

Does Gen 2 V suffer fro the same problem?
Not really. They’re a lot stronger
@@trinipapyfoxbody Thanks my bro.
Does a gen2 ctsv supercharger bolt onto a gen1 ls6?
It looks like it works from this ad boostdistrict.com/collections/2004-07-cadillac-ctsv/products/2004-05-cadillac-cts-v-brand-new-supercharger
Thank you for the reply and your efforts.
Is this similar to a V2?
Similar
Helpful video. 👍👍👍👍👍
I have an 05 cts with the 3.6. Not the “v”. I’m about to attempt to change the rear end. Is this the same or is there a big difference
