I used to listen to Radio 1 all day back in the early 80s when I left school and started my first job. It really was an incredible time for Radio 1 with Steves show being one of the highlights of the day.
I used to work in a Sewing Factory and we lived for this show in the afternoon..it made a long day pass with loads of laughter..Mr Angry stole the show 4 me 🤣🤣 I miss those days! ❤️
Sid The Manager was a classic sketch ,used to conduct impressions of him with my mother's boyfriend at the time . Funny looking back,I seem to encounter similar types in local football as well !!
My fave was Mr Angry. He was always about to blow a fuse lol. This was when radio was genius with amazing presenters like the brilliant Kenny Everett, et al.😂😂😂
The soundtrack of my youth. My first job in London at the end of the 80’s, we’d all listen to this in the afternoon. Linda Lust was my favourite 😂. RIP Steve.

Lordy, the years working in the welding shop at JJ Blows, with this blasting OUT each pm, turned repetitive sack truck construction by the ton into bearable labour. RIP Sir, and thank you.
Same with loads of us I reckon made the week go quicker in the days when we all lived for the weekend and it never disappointed. Simpler days when everyone loved life.

He was simply brilliant. I was gutted when R2 axed his afternoon show. Especially miss Serious Jockin DJ Silly Boy and the introduction to it by Tim Smith. I absolutely loved Friday afternoons. I used to message friends at 3.30pm on a Friday with the words : “It’s serious!” I’d leave them to panic for 30 mins and then I’d say, “Yes, It’s Serious Jockin” 😂🤣😂
