I never get upset at the death of a celeb.... but the loss of Steve Wright has gutted me. Rest in peace, you absolute legend, and I hope you know how much you were loved.
My favourite ever radio theme tune. Brings back wonderful memories of a great era, being entertained by Steve, Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce. Rest in peace Steve
Yes still can't believe he's not with us anymore Steve was for me the best radio presenter 😢😢. Radio 2 should keep this music as their main theme tune and play it as often as possible 😊😊😊😊.
Gutted! This has genuinely knocked me for six. A voice I’ve listened to for many many years, in the afternoons and on Sundays. He made you feel part of the gang and family RIP Steve 😢
RIP to the best radio DJ that ever lived. Now in my 40’s, steve wright has been present on the radio my whole life and I can remember his voice from a very early age. So sad rest easy silly boy Serious Resting no G (if you know you know)
@user-qx1es9bo7d my afternoons have not been the same since, I am hoping he Returns in some form or Another even on another radio station I would still tune in
Thank you Steve Wright for brightening up my afternoon at 2pm all those years. I am very sad he has gone. And the replacements are nowhere near . Nowhere near the level of Steve.
Listened to that with a lump in my throat, what a legend! Damn the despicable BBC I’m sure they contributed to his sad demise. We’ll never hear anyone as good as him!😢
For many of us, Steve was always there in the afternoon. An anchor for decades, seeing us through our childhood, into those tricky teenage years and then fully fledged and still enjoying him whilst navigating the workplace years. His unique voice, letting us all know that the world was ok. I'm not quite sure how it will be from now. He's left such a huge hole and he will be greatly missed by us all. Thanks Steve, rest easy.
An iconic theme tune for an income presenter. I’ve been humming this tune in my head since the day we lost Steve. You’ve been a part of my life since I was a kid until an adult with my own family. You were loved, I hope you realised by how much. RIP Steve and thank you for being there. 😔
This theme is so familiar but still fresh. Couldn't understand why BBC axed his afternoon show. BBC 2 was a staple for me since 1992 when I came to London from New Zealand, and Steve Wright provided many laughs and a boost every afternoon. Particularly liked "ask Elvis" and Barry from Watford. The whole show, Steve and the posse, were brilliant . Steve Wright, thank you, and you'll be missed.
I love this Radio Ident. It is warm and uplifting and it means that there is 3 hours of proper radio on the way. Fantastic track guys. It is very refreshing to see real music being made by real musicians.
Well Done Anthony for making this music Steve's theme tune it's so well recognised all across the UK, we have lost a wonderful DJ who made us all laugh. RIP Steve 😔
This Man and the rest of the gang has been with me the whole of my life he's been like a father uncle cousin in the background all this time and radio definitely won't be anywhere near the same now he's gone but he will never be forgotten the Man is in my head and heart and it won't go away the BBC to me is dead and I will never listen or watch them again as I haven't done for the last few years Rest in peace you giant Man hope you are looking down on us with a smile God bless
Absolutely, Anthony James is an exceptional composer who has crafted some of the most memorable jingles for Steve Wright. His attention to detail and creativity in composing these incredible pieces is truly inspiring. Each jingle is meticulously crafted, capturing the essence of the message and leaving a lasting impact on anyone who listens to them. Steve Wright's absence will surely be felt, but his legacy lives on through these amazing jingles. Anthony James' work serves as a constant reminder of the artistic passion and dedication that goes into creating such captivating tunes. Truly, his jingles are an inspiration to all who have the pleasure of experiencing them.
Really sad that Steve has passed and that we will no longer get to hear this awesome guy on the airwaves again. Steve, you were truly a professional and a master of your craft and will be missed so much by your listeners. Thanks also to you Anthony for the theme tunes that went with Steve's shows which are a masterpiece in themselves and will always be a reminder of the man who brought so much joy, laughter and happiness to all his listeners. The theme tunes added that extra special touch to a great guy and his show. On hearing them you always knew you were in good company. Thank you Steve and god bless you always ❤ 18:18
I loved him in the earlier years absolutely hooked on the show but did not like some of the later stuff such as DJ Silly Boy, didn’t work for me. RIP Steve you absolute legend, I would have loved to have met you everyone said you were a gentleman and decent guy and I want to think this is absolutely true, your talent shone through
Rest in Peace Steve, God Bless you ❤❤ miss you so much, thank you so much for making my job so much easier by having you in the background 🙏🙏👏👏💐💐👍❤️❤️🏴🏴
Many thanks AJ for the creative talents of you & your team bringing us this wonderfully recognizable show intro for what became the afternoon cornerstone of a broadcasting ledgend ❤
I could not be more fascinated by this. Something I'd never thought of before. I agree with Georgeman: I two had always vaguely assumed it wasn't real.
I listened to this with my eyes closed Steve and visions of your many many hours of prep work coming together brought tears to my eyes, remembering and never forgetting your voice as you introduced the show. Ohhh Steve, how on earth are we going to get through this heart breaking time and yes I know people say remember the great times and how you removed all the negatives from our mind and replaced them with such flourishes of happy moments, smiles, laughs and the added excited for me of hearing Mr Angry... But how on earth will that ever be replaced, well quite simply it never will, because you truly are the best single isolated kind hearted soul that I have ever heard on tv and radio and saving this main theme of yours and going into my own little world from time to time, is going to be how I lose myself from the world and re-live moments of pricelessness. Steve I love you mate and always will, forever RIP you legend xxx
I get so emotional seeing stuff like those. Steve Wright in the Afternoon kept me going for years while I was driving many, many miles round the UK. Much missed.
This theme has been part of my childhood growing up with my grandparents. Hearing it in the background in the kitchen, garage or driving down to the coast. RIP Steve
Such a great DJ never took it too seriously but it seems to come so easy to him , made drive time a thing in the UK with his characters on radio 1 , and then smashed it again on radio 2 with serious Jockin . Cheers Wrighty .

the three cornerstones of day time radio
And now, with both of their keys, Ken Bruce, as the only survivor, get's to open the treasure chest at last.
Steve Wright is irreplaceable. He was like a favourite Uncle who came to visit every afternoon.
I feel like the world is not as good without Steve Wright in it.
My eyes are full of tears, from sitting in a tractor in the 80s till Steve passed... never forgotten.
Yes still can't believe he's not with us anymore Steve was for me the best radio presenter 😢😢. Radio 2 should keep this music as their main theme tune and play it as often as possible 😊😊😊😊.
