Hey, I just purchased a 2019 Sorento, and it is equipped with Android auto and apple car play. The problem is the 2 icons are not selectable on the screen. I downloaded the app and accepted all permissions. Once the app is open, phone connected via USB and Bluetooth, but I can't figure out why the icon is an unselectable dark grey colour. Did I miss a step? My phone is a little old but is running Android 6.0.

I have a 2017 Kia forte. I followed these steps using three different cables, all of which work with my phone to transfer files to and from my computer, and Android auto simply doesn't recognize my car. The Android auto icon in the menu remains grayed out.
I have the same problem.
@@KF44444 go into the menu (not "my menu") > settings > communications and make sure Android auto is enabled and the Apple one is disabled. This is how I FINALLY got it to work

I tried that; It still greyed out. I also found the original cable that came with my phone - that didn't work either.
Hey Tim, I apologize for the very delayed response. Our TH-cam account was in "limbo." Were you ever able to get this issue resolved? If you go into your setting, select phone projection, and then turn android auto on, that should do the trick. If not, let us know.
So if you don't have the exact same USB cable that came with your phone, you're screwed? No other alternative will work?

So, how do I successfully set up mirroring for the backseat video monitors? Android Auto has nothing to do with it and no casting works. I connected to BT, but still no video/audio output to the screens. Have searched extensively, as well, to no avail.

As of right now, Android Auto requires a cord in KIAs. The option to connect via bluetooth is coming soon.
