Don't connect with wifi initially.. inorder to solve your issue please reset your bluetooth connection on infotainment system and and also please forget the Kia motors bluetooth and wifi connection on your phone. After doing this, pair your device as new connection and proceed as shown in the video. It will work
It will not work with k20 Pro. You will be successful in connecting it to wirelessly but you will not be able to access data records mobile data will not be accessible

I felt very bad when the introduced wireless projection in Sonet just few days after I got my Seltos GTX+ DCT ☹️ I love AA but the wired connection is too old school and headache.
Here is the solution for anyone with no Network / Data. Go to settings > WIFI>WiFi Preferences> Auto Switch to Mobile Data - Select yes. Hope this works.

Hi, I have Sonet GTX+ when I connect android auto through USB(no wireless in gtx+) I see very less number of apps(in that only maps is useful app for me). TH-cam music app is shown but I don't use it. I have seen videos on youtube where WhatsApp/music apps are shown, any idea how I can get those on my screen? Steering mounted controls are also not working while using android auto, I have seen some seltos videos where they were working, are they working in sonet? thanks.

Basically wifi to wifi connection happens between phone and car for android auto.. but not a single video maker tells that your map wont work coz ur wifi is in connection mode.. so you have to make sure "auto switch to mobile network option" is on in your mobile setting.. dats when your mobile starts using mobile data even when your wifi is in active connection with car and map, online songs app etc starts working in android auto.

Most useful video. I am trying to connect my redmi note 8 with sonet htk+ . Connection gets established but my phone mobile data stops working. Wireless connection shows kia_nhsz as connected but nothing works. It's basically offline as it's not using mobile data and kia head unit does not have internet. Any hint ? What could be the issue? Tried cleaning up cache memory as well. Even wired connection have same issue. Mobile data disappears as soon as android auto connection happens. Please update your android to MIUI12 ruining on android 10. The mobile data will work on Google apps with that update. Please wait for android to release android 11 on the devices, android 11 will support wireless projection with data connection.
Actually that was the first update I did. Miui12 and android 10. But this is the problem I am facing after doing the update. Before update android auto for phone screen was not appearing in playstore.

While you are connecting wireless projection, sometimes a pop up may appear asking for switch data or keep using mobile data. Just click "keep using mobile data" and done

After following steps mentioned on video, kindly disconnect and reset the bluetooth devices on car infotainment as well as forget the wifi and bluetooth ssid on your phone as well. Now re-pair it and connect through phone protection. This should work.

There is one more issue.. I have sonet htx and redmi note 8 pro.. I have connected Android Auto wirelessly but xiaomi phones do not support both wifi and mobile internet simultaneously, so when the phone is connected to "kia motors" wify, I can't play music online since it requires mobile internet.. It will not work with k20 Pro. You will be successful in connecting it to wirelessly but you will not be able to access data records mobile data will not be accessible
but how is the person in the video able to access internet when he is having the Redmi phone itself.

Actually wifi is used mainly for phone projection. The screen uses Mobile data for internet but the response is slow.

Even after doing all this, 4G connection is not working after getting connected. So you cant access internet and play music - any workaround for that.
You might get one prompt asking for internet source, just select "mobile data" from it.

Mobile data will work.. it sometime requires few tries
1. Goto wifi preference ---auto switch to mobile data--switch ON.
Must be on in wifi preference settings for internet connection with wifi on. Because most of mobiles in India Wi-Fi is on internet off. So when if kia phone projection is connected with Wi-Fi, we are unable to play online music, navigation etc.
2. In developer options--mobile data always active-- switch ON.
These two setting must also activated. So both settings are necessary for internet surfing.

Please check the correct bluetooth SSID on your car infotainment system. Sometimes somebody might have changed the name.

@@AmanDeep-ek1ms Yes you have to turn on wifi for wireless projection. Then only it uses Mobile data as internet source as shown in the video.
@@AmanDeep-ek1ms for some phones only Google app works on internet for example maps, assistant, news, podcasts etc. but there will be some delay in response, please check and let me know.

There is one more issue.. I have sonet htx and redmi note 8 pro.. I have connected Android Auto wirelessly but xiaomi phones do not support both wifi and mobile internet simultaneously, so when the phone is connected to "kia motors" wify, I can't play music online since it requires mobile internet.. Am I doing anything wrong here
Seems like your phone is running Android 9. Please check for android 10 (miui12) updates and try again..
I am also facing the exact same issue with poco F1 in my HTX. As soon as android auto gets connected network stops working. It is not switching to mobile network after changing wifi preference settings also. Any work around for this ??

realme xt doesn't support phone projection 😑
Yes.. but my trick worked in some of the realme phones too.. please try the developer settings trick as mentioned on the video then connect it again.. it will work
