I know it's not much consolation but having a great climate helps in economic woes. Here in UK our economy particularly hospitality is knackered plus we have permanent fog and gloom. It really is akin to a post apocolyptic landscape with mask wearing "survivors" submissive eyes peering at a desolate world. Anyone would think a lethal virus stalks the land...as opposed to a bug with a 99.7% survival rate!
HI Steve, the whole thing is quite surreal, I will give you that. That's why I left Michigan, we have similar weather and it's normally cold or raining. The weather really does change people's spirits, there is no doubt in my mind that nice weather makes you feel better. Sun is actually a treatment for this virus, because vitamin D is a huge factor as to whether you will be infected. Instead of encouraging people to go to the beach, Spain closed them in the beginning. The sunny beach is the safest place you can be. Take care and thanks for sharing your story.
Don't agree. The UK economy is fundamentally strong, Spain was in trouble before Covid, so that 'fog and gloom' will lift soon. Sun is great yes but not when there is >20% unemployment around, which is true of Spain. UK unemployment is predicted to be 7% which is much lower than most European countries in the good times.

Hi Miles, this is one of the cleanest towns I have seen in Spain. It's nearly spotless all the time, it's up from the coast so mostly locals live here I think. Homeless people usually live in bigger cities, so they can make money from begging on the street.
Alhaurin de la torré trees are amazing theyve always reminded me of Minecraft trees, its a beautiful place. I'm grateful for your update economy wise. I had to come back to the UK in May and I miss it. X

Amazingly the U.S. stock market is at record highs, so I don't know if that's such a good buy right now. Maybe real estate in depressed countries. There were some people doing pretty good in the hotel sector until all this started, now they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Not to mention the cruise industry and flights. It's great to help folks out, if you can afford too.

All major tourist destinations, when your economy is based on one thing and it no longer exists. It's unlikely that you are doing very well.

Yes, Alhaurin Is my town, and is very clean, and a very nice town. Only 15km to city (Malaga) and 15min in Car to Beach.

They are two really nice young people, a credit to Andalucia. Are youe wearing your mask low because it steams up your glasses? The top of the mask has a wire across it, so you pull the mask up over your nose and pinch the wire over your nose to stop warm air rising into your glasses.
