  • One glance at the Paralyzers' individual influences makes it easy to see why they were one of my favorite Atlanta bands: British Invasion, West Coast psychedelic, pop/rock radio music, garage rock, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, heavy late 60s rock, and even rockabilly! The multi-talented Dave Weil wrote great songs, played tasteful guitar and sang with a powerful presence. Tim Childress and Paul Barrie added impeccable bass, drums and backing vocals; together they cranked it up to 11 every night! I was thrilled to play on some bills with them, and later I got to play with the amazing Paul Barrie in the short-lived Gravy Train! I'm sure anyone who was in Atlanta in the mid 1980s will remember this band, and now you can enjoy their fantastic demo tape!
