My pick for one of the best caves in gaming is old Aperture from Portal 2. The constant groans and creaks combined with the desolate look of the place made me uneasy to explore them even though I knew there wouldn't be any scares or cheap tricks. Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING MINECRAFT ON HERE. Honestly, so many people hate the game on principle that they miss the opportunity to explore the amazing caves in it. Thanks for having the courage to put it on the list.

Not a super well-known game, but a huge chunk of "A Story About My Uncle" takes place in a massive cave system and it's magnificent and totally badass in my opinion.
I think my favorite cave was probably the Spider Cave in Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy. That place has always ALWAYS made me feel uneasy, and full of spiders, it's dark, you have to hit crystals to light up the cave... It's so great.
Hell yes, I love the Cave of Bad Dreams. It used to terrify me to hell and back even on the N64 when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it! Thanks for giving it the recognition it deserves. Also, I think your strange Top 10 subjects are interesting and I'd be sad to see them gone!

When Caddy said "The Cave of Bad Dreams", I grinned and danced a little in the middle of my kitchen. Rayman 2 was one of the games I grew up with, and was, and still is, one of my favorite N64 titles. It's nice to see it get love, especially when the love in question is directed at one of the most memorable areas in the entire game.

Chyornaya Peschera from Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite cave. Was so dark that it actually felt like a cave. And it was so cool how Snake's eyes adjust if you can't find anything to help you see.

oh my god, seeing the chase scene in the rayman part literally made me shiver. that part of the game was one of the scariest things I have experienced during my childhood with PS1. I 100% agree with this list, Caddy! ^-^
Victory Road from the Pokemon games. It's a trademark cave you come across before the Elite 4. The first Victory Road also had a legendary in it! Also the other caves that have legendary Pokemon in them...
I like the ice cavern levels of Donkey Kong Country. They look beautiful and the music that plays is so soft and serene but also feels a bit magical, too.
Odd choice top ten but was good to watch. Outakes are always at the end, Caddy. People expect them if you say or not. Keep up the great videos. Have you done a Bioshock vid?
some of my favorite caves are the ones in Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. Especially the first ones, which get you used to the fact that you won't be seeing or even near the surface of the water all the time, which gives you that claustrophobic feeling but also make you stop and actually look around for what you need. Also, a cave worth mentioning, which is also from the Rayman series, is the one in the Sea of Serendipity levels. You are swimming through an underwater lightless cave, which completely breaks the funny and comedic tone of the rest of the game and puts you in constant tension as you have to use light spots to avoid those hand-like traps
The cave levels from Donkey Kong Country 3 are probably my favorite cave of all games. They've got great music and some cool mechanics that change the game up.
I'd have to say I'm a bit biased due to growing up with this series and it being my entire life, but I'd slip Crystal Cave from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky on there. The music is beautiful and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous and I love everything about it. Good list, Caddy!
That Peru cave in the first Tomb Raider is probably my personal favourite. Since most of that stage is technically in the cave, that means that it had that awesome waterfall, the dinosaurs, and that one shotgun held by a skeleton. And if that doesn't make it badass, I don't know what does.
Well, I can say I found that Spyro track you used after maybe 20 minutes of looking through albums on youtube and rediscovering a wonderful part of my childhood. It's Nancy's theme from the level Icy Peak, if you were wondering.
One of my favourite caves are the Cirramon Caves from Dust An Elysian Tail mainly because of how beautiful the cave's interior was as well as how equally deadly they were, glowing plantlife and trickling water mixed with the various spikes and traps that were naturally forming around the place but also if you persevered you would end up in Mudpot a delightful little village in the caves where....DAMMIT, I BROUGHT THE WATER BACK!!! :'(
I'd say the Borderlands Series has a lot of pretty badass caves. The Caustic Caverns in Borderlands 2, Hayter's Folly from the Captain Scarlett DLC, Tycho's Ribs/Eleseer in the Pre-Sequel and even Hollow Point in Tales from the Borderlands. Say what you want about the series but the art design, especially in the environments, is pretty damn on point.

I really liked the Cavern of Remembrance from Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. It forced you to make use of the growth abilities you would gain later on and gave you a surprising "reward" at the end. Also music and visuals are great and the fact that it throws all types of enemies you've encountered up 'till that point is the icing on the cake for me. A well designed area and nice break from the main campaign.
The Facility in Holdover, it's survived a war that nearly doomed all of humanity, somehow still have energy to use machinery for years after it, and it has robots that has laser beams that can strip people naked if not outright killing them
Just to clarify a fact in your vid: Adventure contained the first easter egg _discovered,_ but Video Whizball for the Fairchild Channel F was released a year earlier (1978) and didn't have its easter egg discovered till 2004! Amazing how a game that old could've held a secret for _that_ long!
Rock Tunnel in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow. As a child who never played an RPG before I was lost for what seemed like ages. Even going back to play it again I get apprehensive despite knowing how to get through it easily. For better or worse, Rock Tunnel will always be the first video game cave to come to my mind.
Ancient cave, Lufia 2. When you end up spending more time exploring a completely optional cave than you do playing the main quest that is one badass cave.

My most badass cave? The World of the Heart from Karmaflow: The Rock Opera Videogame It's a giant underground ruin held together by veins stemming from a giant bug that previously shattered the world so that it's populace can't overindulge upon said veins and potentially kill themselves. And just to make it more metal, said giant bug and the smaller bug guiding you through the level are voiced by heavy metal vocalists Daniel De Jongh and Henning Basse (I've never heard of them either, but they're great singers, trust me)
I personally love the caves in the original 2 Fallout games. The atmospheric music paired with large amounts of exploration, loot and often times difficult enemies.
I thought that the spider caves in jak and daxter were brilliant. Its theme and dark eco everywhere just made this place seem immense, dank, and positively atmospheric

Crystal Caves - Donkey Kong Country
Everyone saying he missed so many caves and here I am, admiring him giving metroid some time.
I am surprised you didn't include the Lava Caves from Tombi. As a kid, that was always one of my favorite parts of the game.

I really liked the Cavern of Remembrance from Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. It forced you to make use of the growth abilities you would gain later on and gave you a surprising "reward" at the end. Also music and visuals are great and the fact that it throws all types of enemies you've encountered up 'till that point is the icing on the cake for me. A well designed area and nice break from the main campaign.
The Facility in Holdover, it's survived a war that nearly doomed all of humanity, somehow still have energy to use machinery for years after it, and it has robots that has laser beams that can strip people naked if not outright killing them
Just to clarify a fact in your vid: Adventure contained the first easter egg _discovered,_ but Video Whizball for the Fairchild Channel F was released a year earlier (1978) and didn't have its easter egg discovered till 2004!
Amazing how a game that old could've held a secret for _that_ long!
Rock Tunnel in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow. As a child who never played an RPG before I was lost for what seemed like ages. Even going back to play it again I get apprehensive despite knowing how to get through it easily. For better or worse, Rock Tunnel will always be the first video game cave to come to my mind.
Ancient cave, Lufia 2. When you end up spending more time exploring a completely optional cave than you do playing the main quest that is one badass cave.
One of the best concepts for a top 10 ever.

My most badass cave? The World of the Heart from Karmaflow: The Rock Opera Videogame
It's a giant underground ruin held together by veins stemming from a giant bug that previously shattered the world so that it's populace can't overindulge upon said veins and potentially kill themselves. And just to make it more metal, said giant bug and the smaller bug guiding you through the level are voiced by heavy metal vocalists Daniel De Jongh and Henning Basse (I've never heard of them either, but they're great singers, trust me)

I'm glad you put Minecraft in there. I especially love the random sounds that play in caves sometimes - they always scare me =°-°=
I personally love the caves in the original 2 Fallout games. The atmospheric music paired with large amounts of exploration, loot and often times difficult enemies.

I thought that the spider caves in jak and daxter were brilliant. Its theme and dark eco everywhere just made this place seem immense, dank, and positively atmospheric
I would've included Turtle Rock in A Link to the Past personally.
