Voting is really simple: there's 1 ballot and you fill in all the candidates 1, 2, 3, etc until you've filled in all the boxes in order you wish to rank them. My upcoming video of course goes into a little bit more detail about the when, where, what next, etc, but voting in Queensland is really simple (at least mechanically. Finding out policy information is the hard part. Best of luck!)
Machine voting looks very interesting, and does that mean that the Hare Clark calculations are also calculated by machine? Because that would significantly increase the speed of determining winning candidates, unlike Tasmania where it took 2 weeks to fully declare & calculate who won.
Why would someone submit a ‘donkey vote’ rather than just putting a blank ballot paper in the box? I think we’ve had discussions about this in Britain before too- although *most* (not all) of our elections you just vote for one (sometimes two or three) candidates with an X and the top one (or two or three) win there is still a suspicion that people just put an X in the top box on their ballot… which is even weirder because voting isn’t compulsory here
I am afraid you didn't "get" me. Perhaps you mean you that you *have* me, as in the phrase "have my attention". Got is the past tense of *get*, which is an intransitive verb which means 1) to take possession of 2) to meet with or 3) to go for, or to gain. What you are using is an annoying Americanism that doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. One last bit of pickiness from me; please, please, please, the Latin phrase you used three times is *et cetera*, not "excetera" as you said. Just like you are excellent in explaining political complexities in very clear ways, you can be more clear in the speech you use as well, without engaging in cultural Imperialism.
You are the only person who cares about this. Maybe if you spent less time nit picking like an ape, you'd have an actual channel that's worth watching.
language is correct if it conveys intended meaning, what you consider gramatically correct might not be correct for the meaning intended. For example if you want to appear friendly and informal you might use different language conventions to times when you want to appear serious and formal. By not following rules like those you proscribe, we actually communicate better, this is a core aspect of language you don't seems to understand.
Fun fact you can even vote at Old Parliment house in the ACT.
I was in fact actually thinking about how does the ACT elections work, so thanks! 🙏🏼
Informative and entertaining. Looking forward on your Hare-Clark video!!! 😀😀😀
I know it's a bit simpler for us Queenslanders but will there be a video for us?
Working on that now
Great to hear. It is going to be my first time to vote in QLD state elections. The available information on how to vote is not great 😢

Yeah, all the paper ballots will be scanned hand have their preferences transferred in the computer alongside pre-polls
Man i love this channel
Another great vid ❤️

Get is transitive, what are you on about. I eat the food, I get the food.
Christ, you must be fun at parties. Chill out, man.

Why do you put on accents in your videos? Can't you make them without engaging in cultural imperialism?
