33:05 that´s so intimate, I love demos because they show the most primitive form of any song on any environment, I think they've never talked about their friendship ( if ever existed ), but I´ve always thought when they were writing music , they were closer than anyone outside the band realizes.
THANKS very much for this! I've been searching for theses versions for ages! Please, post more demo versions if you have them... (specially The Raven-MIB-La Folie and Feline era!) Really great! Thanks!
Brilliant Nik mate, a few of these versions I hadn't heard before, and that's with a long time listening. Some smashin pics in there as ever. Nice one mate
No worries mate. had started a new one myself a while back. . need to get back to it. Some really pretty rare and interesting versions here .Nice one (y)
I prefer their original (?), EARLY version of Strange Little Girl than their later, successfull one. Is this thé VERY ORIGINAL one with Hans, or just one they did after he had gone? I much prefer it anyway. Love The Stranglers 🖤
I’n 1980 at end off gig a few off us were aloud to dance on stage to nuclear device but if u get near jj u get a friendly kick lol in 2010 saw jj leap off PA system bk to the stage in 2017 saw the stranglers last time ever and jj no longer done daring jumps first time I ever saw them was raven tour 1979 Crawley leisure centre brilliant
Does anyone have any recordings of Hugh's band with Richard Thompson? The band they played in during their secondary school days. There's gotta be some rehearsal tapes or, performances that were recorded. What a phenomenal amount of guitar/songwriting/vocal talent those two would have injected into a teenaged band! Better late than never... Emil & The Detectives 2019 reunion? *They also performed "Peaches" th-cam.com/video/haB-pFiWBaw/w-d-xo.html
Feline would have been way better with real drums and better production. The end product sounded too tame. Hearing the demos here it could have been La Folie II.
Loved hearing JJ experimenting with his bass echo pedal on the 1982 Strange little girl. Similar effect on the man they love to hate.

Awesome ! Many thanks from a longtime "Stranglers addict" !!...
One of the greatest band ever......Since the start !
I like the Stranglers but I never took the seriously.....on their debut album in 1977 they had an almost 40 year old drummer

De Ptmre!!! Los estranguladores son parte de mi ser, ellos me acompañan por el valle de las sombras, llegando cada día a la luz....
1:46 Ahh remember the day I spent carving and colouring _Norvegicus_ into my desk at school in 1977. 😊
Is there any way we can ever hear the original 10 LP recordings before the big production #?
Thx for this, great to hear.
Just being the Stranglers ❤

The original demo is hans playing keyboard and he came up with the tune with Hugh the lyrics. Warmling was credited on the 1982 release.

31.00...the keyboard....
Gives me goosebumps. I love it.
12.37 killer photo of Hugh
Some songs remind me off punk the Beatles older songs off the stranglers

Horns on Down in the Sewer?
Who's playing Harmonica on Make You Mine ?
Is it safe to assume the '74 demos have the late Hans Warmling on rhythm guitar & keyboards?

Sorry but I don't have anything but that would be cool tho 🎉🎉
I always thought Shakin' Like A leaf sounded like a Madness record.
Feline would have been way better with real drums and better production. The end product sounded too tame. Hearing the demos here it could have been La Folie II.
