@@Xyzx3 I have them on since rechargeable batteries is all I buy, but it’s not necessary as most batteries will last you over a year. So as long as you remember to change them at least ones a year or have a spare square battery for emergency outside you should be fine.

Great review thanks. Just a small tip for anyone installing- the exact hole saw should be used. If it is too large it will impinge into the space where one of the screws should go. See back of door at 12:29 .
I've seen a lot of KDrama their doors have like this. I want to have one soon for convenience and security.
This is a year later, but being the owner of one of these, I can tell you that they work pretty well!
Only downside is that they use like 8 AA batteries, but they tend to last very long at least...

Thanks for letting me know! Actually, Samsung released a newer version, the SHP-DP728, it features Bluetooth and apparently has the ability to send real-time push notifications to your phone.

Ribbon doesn’t connect and comes undone everytime I try to put it in. It clicks and comes right out. I tried a little duct tape to hold it in place but no luck. Any idea what I should do ?

Great device! What if the battery was empty bat? How would you open the door if its already locked ? Is there a reminder or a warning that the battery was low bat or need to change the battery?
The battery last a long time, you should get notification sound when battery runs low, in addition there is 9V (PP3) backup battery access at the front.

i saw that you drilled a hole, but is there a way to install this on a deadbolt lock? it's the only way i can do since my apartment prohibits drilling a hole

This door lock is a basic version and therefore only supports access via keycode and RFID card. However, Samsung did release new advanced models, such as the SHP-DP728, and these can send push notifications to your phone ➜ th-cam.com/video/RSOb3j19CNs/w-d-xo.html
I don't think it will work with Smarthings hub or Alexa thought.
I got this lock. Overall it is great. But due to my configuration, I would need a wireless controller. Anyone has any ideas what I can do?

The Samsung SHS-1321 is best used as an additional lock, so yes, I recommend you keep the door handle.
There are however other digital door lock versions that replace the handle, such as the Samsung SHS-P718 ➜ geni.us/dXMl

Depends on which way it opens, but you can order one for each type of door

Haven't changed mine yet, the door lock will emit a notification sound before the batteries run low, and in case you miss it there is a connector for a 9V E-block at the front.

No, you can't, but you can make keys with most RFID cards

No, the Samsung SHS-1321 is not a networked door lock, PIN codes, or RFID tags have to be programmed onsite!

Can the door lock be changed to the other side. Instead of the deadbolt coming out the left could it come out the right side?
Sure, I think you can just flip the back of the unit 180 degrees, it should work fine both on the left or the right side!
Does it works with electricity or uses Wi-Fi to operate it?
The SHS-1321 supports no Wi-Fi, electricity is supplied by use of batteries, you can open door lock via keypad or one of the supplied RFID cards. Remember to program the door look first!
Grace ebony I doubt you are going to find many smart locks with wifi, since most of them use battery for their operation and wifi will drain the battery.

My Samsung door lock came with 4 RFID cards, sometimes there are offers that include 6 cards, but most have 4. Additional cards can, for example, be found on eBay ➜ ebay.to/2RVNvpq
If you can afford it buy one with an biometric fingerprint scanner, it´s 100% worth the money.

Why doesn’t mine have a standby battery location
I forgot my password and rfid are not somehow working . The unit is uninstalled but the bolt is in lock mode . The manual knob doesn’t retract the bolt it. If I press ‘register’ key it keeps beeping- how do I reset the initialisation and / or retract the bolt ? Thanks
Can u configure a timeout auto lock? So it wont auto lock for 10 mins?
Maximum 9 seconds using 59* in register mode and minimum 1 second using 51* in register mode.

Batteries last quite a long time, there should be a notification before they run out, and in case you are away there is 9-volt battery access at the front.

Hello!!, i have just recently bought this, i set the password and everything but it’s not working well(the sound now doesn’t work when unlocking) and apparently i need to factory reset it, how do you factory reset this lock?
The confirmation sounds are enabled by default.

Hi, do you know why it is not allowing me to register the rfid even though I pressed on the reg mode? Somehow the blue line is not lighted up except the screen with those numbers are appear 😵💫
I can still unlock the door by manual input but the purpose is to use the cards instead to unlock

It is called forstner drill bit. The interior side looks awful and not very strong.. I think a couple of stiff shoulder strikes would dislodge those screws especially if you over tightened them to begin with. I would use that lock on a garden shed not my front door. If you decide you do not like that lock you are going to have to fill that hole and turn a stain grade door in to a paint grade one.

how to revoke the rfid card
Most locks should come with four RFID cards, there is a button on the back which can be used to change the code and register cards. Let’s say you lose one card, I think you need to reregister the remaining ones to revoke access, should be fairly easy.

The digital door lock can be installed in various ways, there are different models.
As korean it’s really weird to see german guy explain samsung door lock and korean is written on the box. I know european still use key and lock. Is digital door lock become universal in germany ?

The door lock works just fine, you can program a four digit pin, when you touch the lock two random numbers appear, push them then enter your PIN and confirm with *

I never had any issues with this lock, it just works, not sure what you did, normally these locks have a bulletproof design and work flawlessly.

The door lock will give a notification sound before the battery runs low. If for example you are on vacation and miss the notification sound, you can use the external power port with a 9-volt battery to open the lock.

@@island717 The 9v battery only power up the device in case if it's battery dies. But to unlock, you still need to input key pin, or via RFID to open the door.

Not sure, but the RFID or PIN code works great, also both can be enabled for double authentication.

That's why the lock has a total of four keycards included, and in case you forget all your RFID cards inside you have the pin code!

The smart door lock always displays two random numbers each time before you enter your 4 digit pin code, therefore it is safe.
While in normal mode you can use the PIN code or RFID key to open the look, for added security you can also enable Dual-Authentication Mode where both PIN and RFID need to be present to open the lock.

Bought this one because the older version th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQ had was really choppy and would disconnect from the wifi ALOT, was not catching everything and every week j had to charge it. So far the picture quality on this one is exceptional. I also bought a solar panel with it so I will see how this all turns out.
Nope this thing looks so tacky. Do they not have normal deadbolts in Korea? I mean I guess I don't see the purpose of this except to maybe add an additional layer of security to an existing deadbolt or maybe use it for an interior door but one good kick and this thing would fly off the door.
This is one of the cheapest ones, I wouldn't really recommend using this on your front door, might be useful for doors to a home office, private rooms.
