I’m a musician from LA and I stumbled across your channel and I literally love it. It helps me with MY OWN song writing and try to incorporate how you analyze the music into mine! (: keep goingg!!!
9:31 When she says the line "Watch you breathe in, watch you breathing out" I connected it more with the image of that person that went through the trauma reliving it in a panic attack and her being there to witness it ; that moment could be the epiphany for her, the moment she really understood just how much the trauma affected the other person
I love your analysis. As a non-English speaker, folklore and evermore needs an in-depth look to know what it really means. Taylor has a great diction, which can sometimes confuse. Thank you for helping. 😇😇💞
That take sounds more logical than mine. But when I first heard it I saw it through the lens of a guy coming to the realization of the hardships that women face and wanting to stand in solidarity. Like the beginning i thought of a young guy being taught to be tough and not show emotion and in the second verse “ medical” i thought of someones daughter someones mother, like them making the connection to care like in the me 2 movement. And the epiphany is that they do care

One of the most important songs she’s written tbh
