- In this video I will be showing our opening weekend hunt for Wisconsin Gun deer season 2022. I will be showing the deer, our deer camps, and some of the behind the scenes of deer camp. My daughter shot her first deer during the regular gun season and I shot a beautiful 10 pointer. Sunday was one of my best days in the outdoors and a day I will never forget

Nice deer! And congrats to you!! I can without a doubt tell you that deer is 3yrs old. I myself hunt Marquette County and thats a pretty typical 3 yr old deer. Such a great video and so excited to see the youth involved! I hope you are blessed with many more hunts and excitement like that! He talked her out of shooting by asking her 3 or more times and but doubt in her mind because he wanted to shoot it. I hope he thinks of this every time he looks at in the wall. She could have made the shot no doubt in my mind.

Why do you take so long to recover your deer and to gut them out?
What caliber rifle were yous shooting
We were using a .243 with a 120grain hornady
Nothing better than when you shoot and hear "DROPPED HIS ASS"
I used to live up that way but moved to Dane county, there are definitely some monsters up there. Glad you got to share the experience with your daughter congrats to her as well great shots on both deer!

Too bad your daughter didn’t get a chance, kind of appeared the light was getting lower. Probably made a good choice. She needs the practice on thoselonger shots get some confidence. My daughters are excellent shots and out shoot their male cousins often. She’ll get there. Quite a nice buck! Congrats. A great memory shared nonetheless
I wish she would have been comfortable but it is good to hear her say she isnt comfortable. that is a sign of a good hunter in my opinion. I am gonna have her practice over 100yds this year and build her confidence up. Thanks for watching. that is a day of hunting we will never forget

Nice buck! And I killed plenty of smaller deer like your daughters before I finally shot my first buck a few years ago, and I've been hunting for 29 years! Good meat on the smaller deer and when you have very large heards of deer like some parts of our state, there's nothing wrong with reducing the heard with a smaller deer, ESPECIALLY when it's your son or daughters first deer!

Come on let's be honest that it wasn't that big of a buck. Taking a gun away from your daughter and shooting a deer is really bad you should be embarrassed. I certainly wouldn't put that video on TH-cam Jesus

Congratulations. I hunt green lake county and we didn't see a shooter buck out of 7 people. I'm the same way gutting deer. Lol
Green lake county is a great county to hunt in! sorry your groub didnt see any... I know a few people like us when gutting deer its rough sometimes! lol
Nice hunt to be shared with your daughter! Just an FYI by the time your hunting deer the are already a half year older from when they are born so the buck is either 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 years old…
It was a great hunt! I know that. we just say 2 or 3 but they are really 2 1/2 or 3 1/2
I am in northern adams county.We have way too many deer.
WE have alot of deer as well. Most of adams county doesnt give out alot of doe tags either it seems. we get 4 doe tags for gun and 4 for bow

Really sad kept asking her put doubt in her I’ve hunted all my life! My kids hunt and are successful I’d never would done that. Smh sad and killing that deer isn’t something to be proud of !
She isn't comfortable shooting a deer she shouldn't take the shot. That is what I have taught her and I am proud of her as a hunter. I knew I would get comments like this and you are entitled to your opinion. She will be ready for 150 yard shots next year.
Deer don't jump when they hear a shot if they don't hear shit getting rustled near them in my experience. Watch some videos. I shot my pb 155 inch 8 pointer when another guy was shooting at a deer 150 yds away during the rut big time just saying.
I have noticed much more of a reaction from a shot with a bow which is interesting. It seems like they get used to it especially when people shoot year round in rural areas. It is interesting to me
Yah 3 years ago I saw a do trotting through the woods when I got down my stand to take a piss. I grabbed my rifle, fired the shot and dropped her. Not 10 seconds behind her was a nice, 1 sided 8 pointer (the one side of his rack was missing but I didn't see that til I got up to it) and he kept moving like nothing ever happened, so I fired a second shot and dropped him as well!

Great to know ur passing the huntn traditions on. Kids also need to b taught how to scout for deer signs & track also, that makes them good hunters in their later yrs, not just put them in a blind & pull the trigger
I completely agree! I try to have my kids involved as much as I can but not so much they feel forced. They love shed hunting and trimming shooting lanes, planting food plots, doing controlled burns, and looking at trail cam pictures. we do not hunt on public much anymore which is a completely different story.... I hope they learn and love the sport enough that they would do it when I am gone!!!
