You would be too. Pregnancy is a stressful process and when it comes to a threat, you can't just wait to see if it's a real threat or not, you have to act first and ponder later.

Winnifred did better than me bc I swear for at least the first year after my baby, I was absolutely insane. I’d seen how pregnancy related hormones affected animals before, but it never occurred to me that I’d be so incredibly affected too. But humans are animals too, and the hormones that have evolved to ensure a bond and ensure our young’s survival are incredibly powerful.
And just because we know WHY it is happening, doesn't mean we can change it
This Pregnant Pony has a lot on her plate!! She is ready to give birth and she is aggressive!! She has a reason!! So give her time and let her be a Mom!!❤😊❤😊

Backstory is that Winnifred was dumped (bred and carrying Feyre) and her young baby she was nursing was taken from her (edited for conciseness).

It’s always heartbreaking how much horses get passed around. I know it can happen with a lot of animals, but it seems like the standard for most horses. They’re rarely ever with the same family forever.
Separating her from her baby makes me sad. I would have done everything to keep them together.
YES! Why doesn't anybody ever talk about this?!! If you're going to adopt a horse, a dog, a cat, whatever, you keep them forever. Otherwise it's unfair to the animal. I understand they were just trying to get the horse out of its shell, but they bonded with it and the horse bonded with them and then they threw them out. In my opinion, that is just really really wrong.
I would have been screaming too if I had my eyes covered while I was about to have my first kid. Thank goodness that she and her baby were given a loving forever home 🏡 ❤ 🐎

She is not aggressive it is just us how we interpret things. She is a small horse and they still do have pride. Us humans like to man handle smaller horses, we don't show them due respect because of the size. She has been treated badly by previous owners. Also a pregnant horse, regardless of size need to be left to themselves, just like humans. So we have this tendency to force ourselves onto animals, we just need to show them respect. That she was squealing at the other horses is normal horse behavior, totally normal, all mares do that, just to tell stay away. If she is in foal on top she would do that more. So this horse is very normal. Think you weaned her a bit to soon but respect for helping the horse in the first place. x
I noticed that too, she didn't seem aggressive at all. She calmy stepped out of the trailer, let the girl pet her butt without complaining even though she couldn’t see it. The fact that she doesn’t immediately fully trust them and has some trouble socialising with the other pony’s right at the start doesn’t make her aggressive.

I love horses so much ❤ i only stopped because when i went riding my riding instructor was very rude to everyone including me! But when im older ill be sure to be with horses again : )

I volunteered with minis. They are bought, sold, and traded like commodities. I felt a lot of so called "horse people" didn't truly care at all. Every few months their herd changes. Mates are gone forever without reason. It was sad to me. I hope Winnifred stays where she is. For animals that can live so long they can have soooo many "homes". It's no wonder they can lose trust.
This has been my experience too. In the racing world, “horse people” are not known for their compassion.

Thank you for the update, The Dodo..!! I heard humans must look at the ears of the horses (or ponies) first, because they use their ears to warn other animals not to approach them. 🥶

@@ChalNjurshEp i've never seen a minimule before, they're every bit as adorable as i imagined!! i love tiny ponies and mules but i've always been surrounded by big drafts or tb's, even my own horse is a gigantic ex harness racer, i just love minis so much feyre is so cuter it melts my heart

I remember separating my friends pony and her foal? for the first time and she ended up breaking the door open and getting back with it.
We were probably ten years old and of course we scattered and jumped the rails to get away. Imagine if this was a full sized horse rather than a little pony, luckily it wasn't My Little Pony

Also, the title of the video is wrong. This isn’t an “aggressive” pony, it’s a pony who has suffered trauma at humans’ hands and is scared and protective of her baby. The melodramatic portrayal of the pregnant pony as aggressive wasn’t necessary.

@@tierrabear10 The mother is a pony. A pony can not give birth to a donkey (only donkey x donkey can create another donkey). A pony x donkey would be a mule however.

So the mother and child were separated, in the end. Even for humans, It doesn’t matter how independent a teenager gets, they need their parents still. This wasn’t a happy ending when this animal family was separated. But I hope they can be happily reunited one day
This is very normal for horses. Even if they stay together mom and dad foal rarely interact. She did the right thing.
My friend’s horse wasn’t the same after his mate was sold off (by another family member). She had other horses, but he didn’t socialize with them and just seemed quite down. He was older and already physically declining, but this separation seemed to speed things up. Despite my friend’s efforts, he passed away within months. 😢
They probably won't and it's fine that way.
@@treble473 It's so tragic and the worse thing to do to sell off the family members of the animals, it's slavery when we can buy and sell off their immediate family members. Non-human animals aren't much different from human animals. In fact, the scientific premise that human animal is very similar to non-human animals is why humans use them in drug experiments and psychological experiments. It's just horrible the way humans enslave and use and then neglect or abuse these non-human animals. We don't have the right to separate them from their family or to use them for our convenience. But the world isn't fair. And its the non-human animals who suffer the most
