Catching Summer Speckled Trout in Louisiana's East Biloxi Marsh

  • Learn everything you need to know to catch great boxes of speckled trout and redfish this summer in my latest course, Summer Fish Location: bit.ly/3Pxpkuv
    The East Biloxi Marsh is a great destination for catching speckled trout during the summer. It's full of oyster reefs - both natural and man-made - tidal highways carrying various bait (to include brown shrimp), islands that channel water, natural gas platforms that break the current and more.
    As with any fishing location, the East Biloxi Marsh certainly comes with its challenges, the first one being that it is a big place. It is vast, and fish aren't located everywhere inside it. You've got to know what to look for and be willing to cover water to find an excellent bite of speckled trout.
    Join me in this fishing trip as I set out from Rigolets Marina to fish the L&N Bridge, then a rig in Lake Borgne before finally setting out to tackle the East Biloxi Marsh. Yes, I caught my limit of speckled trout and you'll see which tackle and techniques worked best to that end.
    Do you have any fishing tips of your own? Post it in the comments below!
    Tight lines, and thanks for watching!

    I like the two camera heights on the pole, keeps the scene fresh. Then the drone shot out of nowhere when you lose a fish, didn’t even know you threw up the drone lol.

    Devin, I really appreciate all that you put into these videos. My wife and I just moved to the Harvey area from Virginia. Ever since I found out we were moving here, I've been soaking up your TH-cam channel. We brought our 19ft Carolina Skiff with us and plan on tearing up some fish round here. See ya out on the water!

    These videos keep getting better. Thanks for taking the time to make them valuable for the fishing community. As you put it, it sheds off years of TOW required to make for successful trips. The courses in LAFB elite help fast track learning even more. Keep it up Devin! 👍🏻

    Everyone needs to take note of how you approached the rig. I NEVER fish that particular rig. I like the smaller rigs. But I fished the big one in the video this past Saturday. What’s up with people coming to a rig where boats are already fishing, coming in on plane till they are, no sh*t, maybe 50 yards out then stopping next to you maybe 50 feet away from you. Do they think their special and their boat has no wake?
    Also fished the bay side of east biloxi, so majestic, till the only other boat around comes between you and the island you were fishing… people are so inconsiderate on the water

    • @dixie3087
      @dixie3087 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A side note: it’s very frustrating when you’ve come off plane 100 yards out, idled 50 yards in then troll in the other 50. Then some jackass comes in on plane and spooks everything. Smh

    Ever try the bottom under diving birds for bigger specs? I’ve been told if you get through the smaller specs on top you can sometimes find larger trout underneath. Just wondering if you ever found that to be true. Thnx n keep up the great videos.

    They better put some respect on this video or I'm fighting everybody. I've had a GoPro 10 for a couple months now and extremely glitchy. As expensive as it is I'd say buy one or two more two have as spares for when they overheat or start acting up. Better than losing the day.

    • @sean9267
      @sean9267 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Overheating is a major problem with any action cams. I've had mine overheat filming 4k while snowboarding. Lowering the quality and framerate helps tremendously.

    Excellent video. I have an 18.5 ft. center console and would like to fish the Biloxi Marsh areas you described, but not familiar with the northeastern part. In addition, I know Lake Borne can get nasty and kick up quickly, so nervous about the distance and thought I would try from say St. Malo and Bayou Biloxi. How do you rate these areas compared to the North East section and summer conditions? Again, thanks for another great video.

    Are you throwing unwanted plastic jigs overboard (or was it coughed-up shrimp)? If so, you're killing fish aren't you, because they can't digest them. Also, I don't see the automatic dead-man/overboard disconnect in use?
