#LRR #comedy #crapshot
I appreciate the creation of a graphics package thats probably only going to be used once
I want this to be a series every Christmas with the only part of the title changing being the year of the gift exchange.
What if they re-use it during a Live?! 👀
I worry about the implications that it may not be.
Now I want a prequel crapshot where one of the crew is running late so they duck into Tim Hortons to get a card and the line is literally everyone else in LRR
It became real clear why Paul went for the shot glasses when all the other options were gift cards.
He somehow likes Horts LESS than tiny non-alcoholic drinks. Perhaps little shrimp cocktails or mini-parfaits.
*cut to earlier where the entirely of LRR is in the same Tim Hortons but through a vast comedy of errors don't notice each other there*
that would make a good gag commodoreHustle
that would be amazing and they need to make this
Yeah, casting the SAME clerk to serve all the LRRfolk each furtively getting gift cards - and not seeing each other - would be comedy gold; gradually becoming more and more unsurprised as the cH episode goes on...eventually they just and the last LRRmon a gift card and hold up The Machine to tap for payment without saying a word.
(though it's Canada - there's probably three different Tim Horton's franchises within sight of the Moonbase)
"I'm just here for some...card sleeves..."
@@RekkinOnTheInternet YES
This is a guy who gets it
A 40 dollar gift card, eight 25 dollar gift cards and a set of shot glasses... they really need to branch out on the equipment for the next tournament
But do they even have Dunkin in Canada?
@ No, America runs on Dunkin. Canada runs on Tim Horton's
Everyone in the Moonbase was late, swung by TH for a coffee, Tim Bits (only polite), and a gift card
The true Canadian way.
I wonder who brought the shot glasses though... does Tim Hortons sell shot glasses?
@@ravensshade Not unless you count a 16oz mug as a shot glass... In which case may Gretzky have mercy on your liver.
@@ravensshadePaul, he wanted them for his tiny drinks.
The true office terror: Last time they were off island, someone picked up a taco bell gift card. Now the recipient is cursed with having to venture off island to redeem it, and the reward is taco bell.
That steal was absurd value
I would totally watch this as a full segment.
Heck yeah, a LRR white elephant gift exchange where the gifts are the weirdest things you’ve ever seen would be so good for a LRL.
@@dippedfeathers Would be perfect for the not-Boxing-Day-But-Kind-Of-Boxing-Day planned LRL.
Oooooo... Yeah. I would LOVE a Commodore Hustle episode where it's just the office gift exchange and the drama of getting gifts beforehand.
Yeah, watching a full professionally-commented competitive gift exchange is exactly the kind of LRR hijinks I enjoy
I brought a big stuffed shark wearing pajamas to my work exchange this year and it ended up in the hands of a cute niece who we were sent photos of hugging her new friend. Huge win for me.
The calendar of birds with human anatomy that my wife supplied for the exchange was only met with befuddlement.
I have an intense need to know more about this calendar your wife supplied
@ It’s called “Extremely accurate birds by Tommy Siegel”.
That one $25 starbucks gift card was a real upset.
Especially since this would only get you one of their overpriced sugar drinks.
That mistake was only made once, and the offending party sacked and replaced by people who know better
@@CaedenV Yeah, everyone knows the coffee at McDonald's is better anyways.
And Serge ends up with it
now I want that to be an actual loading ready live game
I’m with Paul. I used shot glasses all the time as a kid, would take one and fill it with M&Ms as an after school snack
Yeah, sometimes you just want a LITTLE bit of orange juice - it can be really sharp!
Beyond disappointed that we never go to the board
I bet the $40 card was Ian's gift and he just wanted it.
Excellent play by Ian. He will have a good bargaining position over Paul in the later stages unless someone makes a counterplay. He is probably safe from Serge, however.
I assume Serge was the one who gave the 40$ card, because he felt guilty sticking someone with tim Hortons coffee, so he needed to try to make sure they could get enough tim bits to make up for it
@@campbellolney9753 Not to mention those pulled pork sandwiches. We all know Tim Horton's is famous for their coffee and donut holes, but you can't have breakfast all the time. 40$ will definitely pay for a couple meals there.
@@K4RN4GE911 Maybe *you* can't have breakfast all the time.
Serge also likes small drinks, so I bet we know where he's stealing.
$40 at tim's, that's like, two whole breakfasts!
Honestly I think Paul is onto something here! He's swerving the meta!
Now I'm just imagining the "Gift Exchange", an annual stock trade but for gifts
"Socks are up 12 points this year with prices soaring"
"Sonks"
If you know german, there is a Stenkelfeld episode on a stock trade for christmas candy. (Weihnachtsbörse)
@ulipeitzer1909 unfortunately not, but this sounds like something EXACTLY up my alley!
Thanks for not sending me this TH-cam but reminding me 9 times a vid a week ago was posted.
Hey 25 isn't bad.
Surely the other 7 can be ranked by the designs.
As someone who often sees gift cards for my local equivalent to Tim's this resonates so much
Okay but this totally should be an LRL thing
This is one of those episodes where the final dialogue makes it that much better.
When the prompt came up I thought it said "Tim Horton closes it's business." Which had me hysterical.
This is hilarious! Also, like, this actually looks as though it would be entertaining if ya'all did it for reals! This should be a holiday themed Live skit!
The fully custom opening for a crapshot.
My colleagues and I did a gift exchange where we can steal each other's gifts earlier TODAY, so seeing this video's timing is screwing with my head.
I'll take the paper bag filled with $25 of now defunct Canadian Tire Money over the commemorative tourist mug for the city we all live in please.
Love the seasonal logo!
Awful, this must be how Canadian white elephants work, only Tim Horton's
Canadian white elephants actually have Tim Horton's gift cards for MORE money.
@justinknight3068 Likely due to the exchange rate lol
That or liquor store gift cards... not much you can get for $25 though.
Thanks for this.
Oh I remember this one! It was a real twist when it was revealed that the $40 gift card was used.
I now want to watch this show done by LRR.
So this is the latest evolution of the white loxodon...
I did not see the last joke coming and it is *excellent*
Suddenly the annual hardcover full set of Twilight at my gift exchanges doesn't seem so bad.
I think Tim Hortons gift card needs a hard ban. It really warps the meta.
They decided to ban Nadu first, see if that changes things.
@adamsbja does that imply they were gifting each other $25 worth nadus?
Just the right amount before I mute waiting for the match to restart....
How'd you guys get this footage from my office gift exchange?
I would actually watch this.
Since an unnecessary callback is as good a reason as any to feed the algorithm: "That was a trick question; you love Tim Horton's".
it's funny because it's a little too real 😂
Hope they payin' y'all 😆😆🤣🤣😂😂
This is a perfect crapshot 😂
We all know that the most priced gift card of them all is the Princess Auto gift card.
I feel called out. I love shot glasses but never use them.
Anytime I do drink I usually load up in a stein kind of thing, I JUST LIKE SHOT GLASSES. D:
Joke's on Ian, items can be stolen thrice each, that thing's going through Cori and ending on Beej before the day's done.
Different groups have different rules
...Some of this sound vaguely familiar in terms of how it plays out. And having done the friends one Saturday, I could really sense a theme that I did not go for. I also wound up with LED wireles candles and a deck of Beatles themed playing cards, Blue variant.
Getting a lot of mileage on the new Checkpoint News Desk
I'm so glad Canada learned America's lesson about monopolies.
I would love to watch this stream live.
Excellent
Would watch
Excellent, as always. Thank you!
…But I kinda would like to have seen a simple stupid chart at the end.
We now have a TH in my home town in the UK though I first tried one in Edmonton, Canada. It was winter time 🥶
Well now I just wanna see Wheeler on checkpoint
Perfect lower third punchline!
WILD
This is one of the most Canadian youtube channels on the internet if not the most.
can we have 2 hours of this? maybe just as a podcast like qwerpline?
What we need is Graham to anchor a LRR-wide office crokinole tournament. Preferably with penalty drinks involved a la Bus Pong, but with alcohol because not-Bus.
Wow, I see you spied on my gift exchange from this afternoon.
Is there a two-steal bylaw? Because if so there's still everything to play for.
So.... are you guys up for hire for my D&D group's white elephant exchange?
What a silly thing.
Give me a local grocery chain gift card or it's wasted! ;)
😂😂😂
Can this be an actual loading ready live bit please
😂👍
Hahahahaha!
Mm, timbits...
Paul made such a bad pick! I haven't seen a pick this bad since the Falcons picked Michael Penix Jr!
I forgot yall had Checkpoint for so long, and it's name that I went through the vid history to find that and realised you had a new channel made for it (and other things) 2 years back... -_- too many checkpoints missed
You’re under no obligation to catch up, but you’re certainly welcome to re-join the train now! 😄
Show us the board!!!!!!!!!
Alright comment section, do you call this game a White Elephant? Or a Yankee Swap?
I see someone watches American sports coverage, in all it's horridness.
I'm not a finance person, but tarps HAVE to be cheaper than $25
