    I'm so sorry you get a lot of negative comments about the way you pronounce it. My apologies as I speak for all Americans. Unfortunately, many Americans forget that there is another world outside the U.S.
    It's embarrassing really

      Actually, Americans pronounce the names of the Asian car manufacturers correctly. The rest of the English-speaking world (actually, it's mostly just the Brits) tend to make a mockery of Asian proper nouns.
      Regardless, no one should grief Canadians about Mazda. Their pronunciation is pretty much on point, and Mazz-duh is like the secret handshake into the Canadian car subculture.

      Correct pronunciation is actually "Mat-zu-dah". So really, everyone outside of Japan is pronouncing it wrong. Not like anyone should care, though.

    • @tszwong1
      @tszwong1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sanjogar I agree with your disagreement, what I meant to say was he is a Canadian so therefore he will pronounce Mazda the Canadian way, people did not have to leave nasty comments like that. I come to his reviews because they are for Canada. Kind of tired looking at American reviews when Im only interested in what we get here in Canada

    • @sanjogar
      @sanjogar 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      pzzle
      Now I agree with you too.
      By the way, this beautiful car is NOT available in Latin American countries, so this is the only way I have to admire it. I really like this car.
      Now I think this car is being produced in Mexico so maybe we will have this car later.

    Thanks for reviewing the 2.0. So many of the reviews are for the 2.5, which it makes sense Mazda would want to show off their top of the line version, but after driving both I didn't notice enough of a difference to justify the price increase to the 2.5. Granted, I also have no issue with giving the 2.0 higher revs whereas the 2.5 develops its power lower in the rev range. Can't wait to get a 2.0 i touring hatch in red with a black interior. Though I also noticed the dead spot in the steering (used to driving a 2012 Mazda 3), but I figure I'll get used to it (the actual handling was nice and felt confident through curves without slowing up whereas other cars in the segment either felt boring or did not inspire confidence).

    i own a 2014 mazda gs, i love this car highly recommend it to anyone the quality of the interior is near bmw and the touch screen with the control nob is very useful, i recommend with the 6 speed manual it gets u the most out of the engine, the auto didnt feel like it had enough balls to me but the manual makes it fun when u want it to be

    I believe you have some of the best reviews on the internet. Sorry my fellow Americans called you an idiot. You were one of the first reviews I went to, and I was surprised on your pronunciation. After seeing reviews from Britain and Australia, one could conclude that we pronounce the name wrong. Just put it on that we are pretty insular---we really don't get out that much.

    @jbm0866 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry bout the trolls, and I don't really care how someone pronounces it, but when Mazda execs (native Japanese speakers) say the name in English it sounds closer to the American pronunciation. We simply learned how to say it based on tv/radio ads saying the name, and it's always been "Mah-zduh" for us, and the parent company was the one that approved it. Same with Hyundai...we were taught it rimes with Sunday, not "Sun-die".

  • @gregnixon1296
    @gregnixon1296 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am pleased with Mazda because they have chosen to forgo CVT transmissions. They are making their own automatics...still with gears. Love it. Now, if they could just do something about the direct injection engine. A multi-port injection engine would make this the perfect car.

      @zxbc1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You mean in Japan where the brand is created they say it wrong? Because the American sound is closer to the Japanese sound. Same with Nissan, the English pronunciation of de-emphasizing the second half sounds farther from the original Japanese version.

    • @SlipknotMaggot0526
      @SlipknotMaggot0526 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're acting the same way as the ignorant people saying he pronounces it wrong. There is no right or wrong, just worry about how you want to pronounce. We all know what you'll be talking about either way so it's a big deal.

    • @zxbc1
      @zxbc1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not saying the Canadian pronunciation is wrong. I'm simply commenting on the guy who says Americans pronounce it wrong. There's no right or wrong, you're free to pronounce it anyway you like, but saying "the rest of the world is right and Americans is wrong" is exactly the same attitude as correcting Canadians as an American.

    I know that some Canadians consider we Americans to be a bit retarded, but if you want us to subscribe to and enjoy your videos, please translate liters per kilometer to miles per gallon. In addition to being retarded, we're not very good at math or anything else for that matter. I guess that's the reason that so many Canadians, who can afford it, come to this country for their health care needs....and to vacation all winter.

      Sadly I sold my Mazda 3 Sedan GT (Sport Nav). The leather drivers chair wasn't comfortable enough for me, neither were the Alloy Rims, bump bump. Although I've osteoarthritis so needed a Volvo which feels complete luxury to me. Mazda don't have far to go to become 'Premium' but the shortfall is still too great to be premium. Lovely designs!

    The windows in the back are a big downside.
    Its true that if someone can't see out of the window when moving they get motion sickness. Dogs will sometimes get sick for the same reason.
    Its probably a good safety feature... but not for comfort.
    The new Mazda 3 is best for single people or couples with no kids.

      He's not on about how it's meant to be said, he is just clarifying that it is a Canadian review and that's how they pronounce it. Like he said, some unnecessary aggressive comments on his pronunciation from mainly Americans. Here in Australia we pronounce it the same as the Canadians and UK reviews pronounce it the same way too. Doesn't mean it's wrong. All countries have different accents and differing ways of pronouncing words.
      Must be annoying to see the negative comments on here when all he's doing is talking in his native tongue

    well, we're all wrong when it comes to pronouncing it anyway, the proper japanese pronunciation of it is pretty much "matsuda"
    which is fitting, given as the company was founded by a guy named jujiro matsuda.

    155hp from a 2.0 litre engine is NOT good. My Hyundai Elantra 2.0 makes 173Hp. The 2.5 mazda Skyactive only makes 185Hp. It's obvious that Mazda has choked some performance for the sake of better m/pg.

      Mazda in Japan is pronounced Matsuda (name of the founder). The Japanese "a" is prounounced "ah" not "aw".

    Nice car but even my '89 Mazda 626 was peppy enough. Americans are always right even if the Whole World say it differently they still Won't Change their ways.:'(

      Well, the American pronunciation is closer to the Japanese, so you can't fault them for thinking so. On the other hand, the English language has infused so many sounds from other languages and cultures, that arguing about the sound of something is quite pointless.

    "Mahz-duh" with the sharp "ah" like "cat" is less correct because the Japanese name of the company is "Matsuda" which has the soft "ah" like in "cot". So, Americans are at least slightly closer to the real pronunciation.

    I really dislike the dashboard. It's not up to par with other compact cars like the Civic.

      its better than the civics of the same year, design and material wise. But the 2016 civic offers competition at least.

    As I know, 1.6 billion people pronounce Mazda as American do. it would be nice to respect original Japanese pronunciation as possible.

      Cause that's why Americans pronounce it that way...out of respect for other countries and cultures. Lol

    I just had a (hopefully) funny thought about how you should the pronunciation of "Mazda". You know how sometimes the mazda 3 is referred to as the "Mazda Mazda3"? You ought to try pronouncing the "Mazda"s differently in one video just to watch trolls heads explode, like call it the Maze-da Moz-da three or the Moz-da Maze-da three.

  • @ciupeee

    Well, the people who judged you based on a simple pronounciation difference don't really know that even the japanese "don't know" how to pronounce their car since it's "ma-tsu-da" or something similar.
