- The East Coast Trail adventure begins! This video covers the first 3 days of our NOBO thru-hiking adventure on the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland.
Beginning in Cappahayden, we hike north approximately 65 kms to Ferryland.
This video features the following "paths":
- Island Meadow - Bear Cove Point
- Spurwink Island - Sounding Hills (CLOSED)
Highlights include: Ocean views, various terrains, cliffs, sea birds, a sea arch and lots of mud.

Checking this out or my hopefully ECT thru hike this year. I'm thinking its possible to walk the beaches on Island Meadow part to avoid the boggy parts. Great video.
WOW! What a great journey. Love that arch. Is the trail marked well?? Did you find out, why the trail is closed?????
Hi Lucia, thanks! The arch was an incredible sight. The trail is pretty well marked, it gets better the further north you go. Apparently, the trail is closed due to a dispute with land owners. We didn't get all of the details as to what the issues were, but that's what we were told by the locals when we asked.

@@nazlinkanji5772 it took us 9 days from Cappahayden to St. John’s. We followed the trail posted on the map.
Are you tired when you came home from the hike
LOL We had a couple of days to recouperate in St. John's before coming home, so we weren't that tired. :)
