What a great live drum sound! nice deep resonating tom shots especially off the gong bass drum. Sounds sooooo good. I love the grove Simone is pulling off.
Jeff can never be replaced but I love Simon's ghost notes and the extra little fills he does on the toms. Just adds something to it for me. Such a great band and wonderful performance.
Simmon Phillipa is one fantastic drummer.he always has a new style up his sleeves for Africa,and all the other songs.it seems he improvises as he leads the band in every concert.

This is a fantastic version that minimally equals, and maybe surpasses, other superlative live versions (e.g., Paris, 1990). And as much as I have always loved David Paich on this song, this lead singer is even better.
