It seems like so many are missing the MAJOR point about these cars. Once cars hit the "30 years old" mark they are never priced like they were at the 5-10 year old mark. That's due to so many people wanting to relive their youth. I'm able to look back at 50s/60s cars that were $1500 and less in the early 80s and are now a $25k and up car now. And I'm talking they are in SAME condition they were back then. We all want a piece of our youth but you gotta pay to play.
Yup, bought my first old car in 1994. 74 Chevelle for $500. Followed by a 69 Road Runner in 1998 for $1800. In 2001 I bought a 70 Cuda with a 440 for $7000. Old cars aren't cheap like they were.
There is a difference:. The 1980s for car collectors, were awful years. Shitty performance, lackluster style. From the mid-'50s until the early '70s, automobiles were in their golden age.
I feel very lucky. My friend had an 86 GT T5 that has been sitting since 2006 with about 80K on it. I had the same car but AOD in the early 2000's that I totaled and had a bunch of parts still. I bought his for $1500 with all the parts (mostly wheels) that he had 2.5 years ago. It didn't start and needed some work. Just to get started was Battery, Cables, Fuel Pump, and Oil Change (fuel filter and tank bushings while I was at it), but it ran. Finally got to work on it the past few months and got rid of the oil leaks. Now I have to bleed the brakes and throw some of my suspension parts on it. After seeing this for $3500, I can get about $5000 easy, but I'm keeping it as long as possible.
Now I feel a lot better for my recent buy- 1986 LX ragtop with 80k miles. 5.0 injected that was owned by a 91 year old lady who bought it new. Got it for $6700.
not bad if you like verts and like four eyes. me personally i dont like neither one. to each their own though and if your happy thats al that matters. enjoy
I'm in Indiana and gauging selling my 88 5.0 5 speed quad shock vert and after seeing this I don't think that $5500 is out of the realm of reality for it. Solid boxes no rust needs a repaint and the quarter windows fixed!
My 04 GT seems brand new comparing both, it just goes to show how a budget car can need a boat load of work & parts, this knocking fox is a prime example of what the owner had bought and how much over his head he is, great job of getting it running guys.
What a pile, accident damage, doesn't run, no AC, rust with paint coming off, it's not even a Notch. Prices have been ridiculously high ever since Dennis Collins sold his Foxbody collection in 2018. Now every owner is trying to sell their rust bucket Fox like it's gold plated
Makes me realize how much I LUCKED OUT, when I bought mine back in '15. and I was ignorant about the Fox Body fords. The big positive for me, also was. I'm in the Southwest. NO RUST. Still, It's nice that you guys got this running for the "cat" that owns that car. I bet he felt like a million bucks, driving it back home.
I've got a 91 that's gonna be for sale in a few weeks and I'm not taking less than $8500. But the hard work is done next to a paint job. Just a bunch of little thing's that can easily be fixed👌
That would be an interesting build but looks like it will require a lot of body work to make it a solid car what does the floor pan & frame rails look like? Good Luck with it . 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
@ferdinandcuevas8457 there is ZERO rust on her my good man. The little things I'm referring to are.... The power windows. I'm not 100 percent certain but I believe the window motors are bad for the windows won't go all the way down. The hatch won't stay closed, typical Fox problem. Where you put the gas nozzle in leaks, another typical Fox problem. She still has the factory interior in her. But unfortunately the carpet in the front and the hatch, and the front seats need replacing. The good things is the dash, the headliner, and the factory kick panels are all there and look brand new. The back seat doesn't look like anybody has ever sat on it. She's got cup holders "bought from LMR" but I have the factory center console and yes the ash tray lid still works. I'm not gonna lie or make up a bunch of ridiculous B.S about the car. Is she perfect? Well no of course not. But the old girl is mostly original and you can drive her while you fix the little thing's she needs👌

If you can't swing a Fox Mustang...check out their brother the Thunderbird. Rides better, tends to not be abused, takes 80% off the same parts, doesn't attract "5.0" attention when you're out on the road enjoying its potential. My 1986 turbocoupe was nearly invisible to police but my 1986 GT Mustang was always being followed by cops trying to find an excuse. And you rarely see one at cruise nights, so you don't have to spend a lot of dough to stand out with one.
I talked to the guy on market place. It definitely sounded like a guy wanting to get rid of it because he was done messing with it. You guys doing God's work helping him out.
Got my first Fox body this year. An 89 GT. Only paid $900 for it. Body in good shape. Interior was gutted but he still had the molding but no seats. The body is rough which is sad looks like someone painted it and didn't do the best job. The strut towers and all look decent. Normally they go first. Mines in great shape. Other then the wiring. So termix fixed that
@Roger-fs5yo my driver side was also hit and it kinda bent the frame a bit with a 4 banger. It had a few rust hole also along with 2 marble size crack in the windshield

I wish I had land like that. That would be like 850 million dollars on stupid long island
Think it was ecu or ecu ground?
MSD, take it off,
The body is rough which is sad looks like someone painted it and didn't do the best job. The strut towers and all look decent. Normally they go first. Mines in great shape. Other then the wiring. So termix fixed that
You should make a video on your thoughts about how these cars got in bad shape
I need you guys to do some work on my car 92 GT
Thats what i paided for my coupe about a year ago 3k
Did it look like that?
@Roger-fs5yo my driver side was also hit and it kinda bent the frame a bit with a 4 banger. It had a few rust hole also along with 2 marble size crack in the windshield
@@musclecargarage8882I understand
I see a Fox that’s all there . Love and lipstick and she’s good to go.
Men you have to go to Puerto Rico you still get good foxs for 6k
I will stick with my 06 GT with 345k miles on it.
theres been alot of 4cly cars around me for around 800-1000 running and driving in better condition than that lol
"I love these cars, but there not worth what people are asking for them these days,it's a shame it's came to this it truly makes me sick, guess I will do without one for now"
Clapped out, cowl hood, a tachometer with shift light?
Walk, no, run away.
OK my car isn't that great but I feel it's worth a million bucks right now! (CDN dollars if course lol)
Yeah, like the svo mustang that doesnt even run for 6000k in brighton tn. I get it, its a complete car and rare but for 6k, come on guys. Its a tin can foxbody.
Well that one's in better condition than the one restored its been 15 years of fun and money. Lol
Just a good driver, id drive it.
Yeah when u drove down the road I thought that ole boy should have charged more
It’s a decent parts car I guess
Give me one them mustangs I have a 289 an trans to put in one
Is that car a 88? And anywhere near Ohio? This may be my old car from high school and I’d trade a pristine one for it
This is the fox we all started with 🤷🏻♂️.
Mustangs are way over priced and people paying upwards of on 10 to 20 grand is crazy I love them but not paying that everyone ridding the wave and on band wagon people mess up car game for us mustangs and f body smh most of time they look like this trying sell it for 6 7 grand in my area after it’s been beat to hell not in good way
That Fox has had a hard life, and patched up most likely to unload.
I wouldn't pay 35 dollars for that
Just watching this walk around gives me anxiety...
Lol! that is a hard pass car if i ever saw one. The amount of money required to make that a nice car you could just go buy a nice car and have money left. even if you did the majority of the work.
🎉🎉🎉
And I have a 22,000 mike lx 5.0 for sale , that I can’t even get any interest
Makes me like the S550s even more ! As a guy who bought a 5.0 fox body new I can’t see paying these prices for such beat down cars ! 😢
7 months later you can get the same car but instead its a 4 cyl
Shes a beauty
I drove a Fox body when it was 6 months old back in the day. What a pos. Should never be called a Mustang.
take it to the junkyard
