just been through the flooding in the northern rivers nsw , seeing this vidio brought back memories of flooding in the riverland i think 1974 at mannum not as big as 1956 flood but still gut renching to see , being a SA boy my heart goes out to all down there..........
Great tour around. New friend here from Adelaide. We were at Swan Reach and Blanchetown yesterday. Such devastation from when I used to holiday in Swan Reach as a child in our shack on Mark's Landing. Thanks for sharing
Great work! I live in Qld and have traveled this region by bicycle in the past. it is absolutely amazing to see the river levels in some of my favourite spots
More great scenery. I was amazed at how long the water will take to reach the mouth, it looks to be moving so quickly 😯. Thanks again for sharing this 🙂 cheers Cheryl
Very interesting and informative Mick and Sally, thanks for the video. Looking forward to video of Murray mouth, hope everyone will be ok and damage minimal.
Thanks for the video again. Certainly been a waterlogged 12 months for those affected right back to your 7.5 days in a Roadtrain video series. Nice work on the production. We enjoy it and hope to visit at some stage . Thanks.
Great videos, excellent commentary. As an Adelaide boy over here in the US you're making me homesick for my state. Enjoy discovering these places I've only seen on a map. Keep up the great work. 👍
Another OMG vlog ...and the full flow isn't here! There is so much water to come from so many tributaries.. Your update also highlights the plight of businesses (+Summer Holiday trade)/ locals and shack owners Thanks Jan Adelaide
Great series old mate, just goes to show when nature wants her land back she takes it, a lot of those (shacks) are built way to close to the river, Stay safe
Fantastic footage guys. The lower lakes aren't going to have the substantial increase in levels due to the immense area and the ability to attenuate the flow through the several barrages at the bottom of the lakes. It is predicted they will be able to maintain the pool level between approximately 600mm AHD to 1000mm AHD. Will be great if you can get the drone over the mouth.
Another good one mate!! It's a double edged sword: Great for the system & viewing but hazardous for property & livelihoods. I guess the narrower lower Murray River valley means deeper & faster flooding - as you say, & more to come - also means different to manage compared to Sunraysia & Riverland with the widespread valley.
They sure do. We've survived a few up here - even vaguely remember my father fighting '56. High rivers since then were nowhere as bad, but still cause distuption, especially to & from work in a lot of cases. We have a lot of "spread" in the Riverland unlike major sections of the Lower Murray.
Some of them must be worth a great deal of money. Recovering the financial cost to build in the first place must be hard to achieve at the point of sale.
@@troycarr9948 Not necessarily all the rich and wealthy, some would be owned by the normal hard worker as well which through better circumstances has allowed them to be able to own one. Good luck to them.
No doubt about it 👌.....as it said "back in the day" there's all types of peoples on the river these days, that's what makes it so great, something for everybody 😀
Great job. What drone are u using and what programs do you use for the post production. Good to see the older generation able to use modern technology. I know some struggle to use a mobile phone...lol
It will start to peak in Renmark next month and further downstream will be 3 or 4 weeks after that so I have heard but I am now expert on this. The river is expected to have a high water level during most of the first quarter of next year but this all depends on what occurs upstream from South Australia. The final outcome could change by an number of weeks yet.
Can anticipate areas along the river that have been affected by drought might fill up reducing the impact downstream or at least buy time to prepare as the water flows.
Yep not good times for some Im one ...No road access water rising daily soon to be cut off from power too & no where to go... hope our councils take note in future prevention rather than just reaction
Prevention will be almost impossible to achieve, the trick will be to learn how to live with it and survive without anyone getting injured or lost from it all.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 Well the council here knows the trouble spots since the 70tees....Prevention could have been achieved to a reasonable level ...of course nature is unpredictable but no excuses for doing nothing in decades thinking it wont happen again

Yes it must be hard for those along the river. 1974 was a big flood but they are saying that this one will be higher than that one was.

Looking at some current photos of Swan Reach, it must be getting fairly real for the people there now.
Great series guys thanks for sharing this unique time on the Murray
thank you, glad you like them.👍
Mick brilliant videos of our part of the river can,t wait too the mouth video well done.
Thank you very much, glad you liked it.
I'm certainly enjoying your productions Mick, will be following this progress.
Thank you.
Another special video in this current series. Well done and thank you
Thanks 👍
Merci pour cette vue a l'infini de ces beaux paysages a bientôt ...
Thank you

The river will flourish after the flood waters go back to normal pool level, should be good.
More great scenery. I was amazed at how long the water will take to reach the mouth, it looks to be moving so quickly 😯. Thanks again for sharing this 🙂 cheers Cheryl
Thanks Cheryl, yes so much water yet so long to get anywhere. So much of it takes a bit to get one's mind around it all.

Wow… Great video you guys…
This is the stuff that we don’t get from the mainstream (no pun intended) media…

The amount of water that doesn't reach the mouth from a flood of this size highlights why the mouth struggles to stay healthy.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 It would be interesting to see the changes in the mouth over time before European settlement.

Back in the day a shack on the Murray was just that a shack, now days a lot of them are fully established mansions.

I have a Mavic Air S2 drone and use PowerDirector 356 to edit the footage. Trust me, some days are a struggle at times☹☹
Enjoyed your flood coverage. How high did the river reach at lock1 in 22 compared to 56?
Obviously not as high but I have no 1956 info to compare it to.

Thanks Mick and Sally. Things are not looking good.
Not looking good for owners but great for the river system.
Mick, you do a great job but is it legal to fly a drone over private properties? Thank you
Yes it is as long as you have no ill intentions while doing so.
How long Mick will it take before the water starts to recede?
