    Just stumbled onto your channel, personally i would be naming the builders, this happens with residential builds, they need to be accountable for the quality and after sales services.

    had a similar issue and bailed from a Melbourne high volume builder that in hindsight we dodged a massive bullet getting our money back after some strong email exchange. Stories such as this are so anecdotally familiar and some of the more "popular" TH-cam influencers are nothing but marketing charlatans. The Van shows are the worst place to get "hooked" by the marketing machines and they do not tell you the whole story re weights, 3rd party warranties, Chinese product quality and after market support... really a horrible industry to deal with which is a shame as there is likely some good honest manufactures that do the right thing. Doing your homework and talking to guys like Jimmy is the key to starting the journey in the best possible way.

      Great comment Chris, there is so much people aren't aware of when purchasing a Van. You are spot on! Plenty of homework can save a lot of problems.

    Perhaps a new build purchase contract should include penalties for not delivering on-time, on-budget and on-quality. Including option to cancel and get a deposit refund. The fact is, your deposit has been used to pay the build cost of other delayed vans. These van manufacturers have been growing faster than their cashflow can afford. Same as the house building industry.

    Awesome video, just hearing it was giving me anxiety. No way would i have given them another chance, if they messed up at the design stage, how can they possibly be trusted to get it right under pressure with a week turnaround when they went through months of design development and R and D and made that big of a cock up. I would have taken my money back and ran. And what do you mean you have had roof leaks??😮 with a band new van?

    The caravan companies that treat people like this should be named and shamed

    Should reveal the manufacturer to prevent other customers getting ripped off and false information from this company, obviously you wouldn't buy through them again

      Thanks for your comment Hamish. Believe me, I would love to say the manufacturer but Brad and his wife were still going through dramas with their Van when we filmed, and also the purpose of the video is to just hear some one out who has experienced issues like this first hand.

      @@Jimmygcaravanpro Fair enough, and I respect his decision.
      I know people that have manufactuers have requested familys to not name them before.
      Unless you've signed something making you exempt, you owe them nothing.
      If anything it's helpful for the community, because often enough, manufacturers are not doing the right thing, and it starts with the consumer.

    Similar experience with sales guys. Took my ranger in to see how it would stack up with 20’ offroad van. Absolutely no problems he says…even 22’ family van would be okay. Nothing special about ranger with bull bar, winch, fibreglass canopy and rhino rack so thought he would have seen them all and trusted his advice. Big mistake! Van was 2550 tare and he tells me 600 payload but misses the bit that it doesn’t include water and gas. Then I weigh the ranger and with me and wife with full tank and empty we are 2818. Could add more than 100 to ranger and 200 to van without GCM upgrade through Lovells. Next problem is I check front axle on ranger without van and is over by 60. Off the company that did the build and they say not their problem despite me spending $25K with them from new. They are getting a revised rating for front axle as they did front and rear suspension originally to cover front weight. Problem with that is Lovells will bring back to OEM rating with their upgrade and will be too heavy on front axle unless I do away with bullbar and winch. I recon most dual cabs with bullbar and winch would be over front axle weight without load behind rear axle. Wish I knew before what I know now and it is an all too familiar story. Caravan, car and 4WD fitout places would loose too much in sales if they were upfront with this. Hope all works out for ya. How were your axle weights?

    • @Jimmygcaravanpro
      @Jimmygcaravanpro  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your comment Mike. I think so many people have been in a similar situation when it comes to their van and vehicle. It comes down to having a good understanding of all the different weights each one is capable of. Your comment is a good explanation to show how easily we can be over with our weights. As for Brad with his set-up, I think he was under with his axle weights.

    I wonder if a GCM upgrade done in Victoria is valid in all states?

    • @markandkim66
      @markandkim66 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @DaveTangey , if it’s PRE Rego, then it’s recognised Federally. If it’s POST Rego, it’s also recognised nationally, but you’ll run into problems if you try and sell the car outside of the state that the GCM was done, in this case Vic.

    Just wondering how you measured the towball weight on a weigh bridge.
    Very informative however you should name the manufacturer as that info is crucial.
    Personally I would've taken the refund. Too many red flags IMO

    Unless youre naming and shaming all of this is just conjecture and could be made up for all we know.

    Worst case scenario, they (the manufacturer) WON'T go to to court because the truth will come out???????

    Our compliance plate was weight before our mods not after so we didn’t realise how much weight had been added and luckily were able to increase our ATM(at our expense) to give us enough room for full tanks and possessions. Otherwise we would have had zero water and all of our food or full tanks and no food🤦🏼‍♀️definitely live and learn. I’m sure all new owners will have nightmare stories of first van issues. I have a funny feeling I know who this manufacturer is. 🫣🥴
