I really appreciate this guide. Thank you. I started GW2 back when it was in closed beta and stopped playing it about 3 years ago. Suddenly got the itch and came back to it. Wasn't sure what to focus on with my many level 80 exotic-armored alts, lol. So I settled on getting world completion on my main. Then I learned that there were flying mounts (or actually, "gliding" mounts), which I knew would make this task much easier. Then I learned unlocking them was going to be quite the process. You made the task of getting a griffon seem a lot less daunting!
Dude it took me almost that long to get up to the fucking sanctuary. Only to get up there and find out I need to get the sand dog mount. And I am only getting this mount because the guide I was following for the cheapest exotic armor is now requiring me to 100 percent complete dragon's end. Well there are places in there sitting on just literal spires I can't climb, so looking into getting the sky scale made me think I would need the griffon. Like this is why new players either don't stick around or are just casual. It's really just stupid.. I feel like I wasted money because this expirence has really made me rethink playing this game
i have some very important side notes: 1. The champion unbound Djinn in Elon Riverlands is just north from the hero point you mentioned and he will appear after completing a gathering event 2. The writings you have to find at kormirs library are now locked behind chests. The keys for those chests can be looted from elite enemies around 3. After bringing those writings to the sunspear sanctuary an instance will open where you have to kill a boss
Missing details: After get all the armor pieces and return it to the NPC, u have to ask for the item to complete the collection (last dialog option). At the library u need to kill Elite Mobs so u can get the key to open the chests. Thanks for the video bro :)

For the last part where you have to gather Kormir's books (10 of them), you have to kill the Elites around, get the key, and unlock the cache's of Wisdom to get the books. This is probably something they added in since this video was made in 2020. Comment posted 2-1-2022.
Complete the Equipment Tracker achievement, and then talk to Master Sergeant Shadi, pick the fourth line ("I've been asked by a mutual friend to retrieve Golsah. Can you help?") and she will give you the rune.
I've been on this video page for like 2 weeks. This was a great guide! A little fast paced at times, but not too much. The only thing I would change is add an annotation saying that you need to kill 10 Elites in the library to get the keys for the chests. You can have a party while you do it, but it's very hard solo as a squishy DPS. Thank you!
Additionally, after this there is a final Champion fight when you go back to the statue/shrine. after killing the champ you are rewarded with the Griffon :D. Thanks for your great guide, it made finding all the other bits and bobs much easier!
As a new player I couldn't follow your instructions any longer than the 2 min mark. 02:05 "Talk to the npc" which one? where? 02:10 "nearby griffin sanctuary" Like WHERE? No Map nothing you just say it. Does not help at all unfortunatelly.
after a month of grinding i FINALLY got it. this video was really helpful tysm! for other people though during final steps you will need to fight the elite enemies nearby to get the keys and they are fairly beefy so it might take a bit.

I got my Griffon with the help of your guide, thanks! As others have mentioned the writings in the library are in a cache, so you need to go around and kill the Elite mobs to get the keys to them. As an Elementalist the easiest ones to fight seemed to be the bull-like creatures and the shadows. I found the elite harpies too hard to kill due to evasion and the sunspear mobs very dangerous in general. There's also a final fight with champion level boss, but it's pretty tilted in the player's favor to win. All you need to really know is he will go into a phase where a shield surrounds him, then you have to mount up on a Griffon and use your "1" ability to break it.
Been playing gw2 for 4 months, this is the simplest,non-so-spoiler guide to get your own griffon! I just got mine today using this guide! Thank you man!
My advice, get through living world season 4, get mastery 3 on the raptor, springer, jackal, skimmer, then begin griffon achieve. Don't rush it just puck away. It's really easy if you aren't frustrated or in a rush.
Man you put a huge amount of work in making this video. Just finished and you made it possible. Honestly the griffon feels pretty underwhelming for such an overwhelming amount of effort. I hope it gets a lot better after leveling it up. Regardless, thank you so much for such a great guide.

I people dissing this guide but it helped me perfectly. Idk what yall are doing wrong but i have skimmer, jackal, and the rabbit and this has been a breeze. The only thing is the champ dijn spawns to the upper left as an event
Because he says go to these places without showing where those places are. You can't make a tutorial by outsourcing your viewers to other tutorials. Making tutorials is serious shit, It's best not to be lazy with it because when you are you usually receive this kind of criticism but aye to each their own. Some people like yourself can watch this and have it click but sometimes there'll be newer people unsure about the map like myself.
Not sure if you skipped it or it was updated, but the last two parts: (retrieving scrolls from the temple: there are 11 scrolls that are locked up in chests, which you will need to kill elites with the keys to unlock them; then after placing them in Kormir's statue back at Spearmarshal, you have to fight a boss. When the boss activates a globe around him, you'll need to ride a griffon to attack and break the globe). Kill him then finally, you will get the griffon mount :).
Just getting back into GW2 since expansion coming out soon. So playing catch up since I haven't played in a good long while. This step by step guide was extremely helpful. Thank you for making this video!

I there was i, thinking the gold would be the hardest part xD I'm leaving some tips i found in the way: 1- Tekkit's marking you the exact spot, in the map you can alt+click to follow that point on the mini map. 2- You cannot solo the side quests. Except desolation and vabbi's dominion. But often i found parties in LFG. 3- In desolation, you can ride the borrowed griffon for all the eggs in one run, no need to return. 4- In the final part, at the sunspear wisdom, you are searching for chests (might sound dumb, but it was hard for me o spot what i as looking for) you'll need a key from the elites around. 5- You'll need 12 mastery points to get the most off the griffon. i played like.. 10 rounds on riba to get my 250 gold. There's always an active squad on lfg and it's easy to pick the rythm.
You forgot to mention that to get the Writings in the library there are Caches of Sunspear Wisdom are chests containing the Writings of the Last Spearmarshal. That means you need keys to get the writings. You need to kill elite creatures to obtain the key required to open them. And if you could exsplain how you see them it would be helpfull.
I'm entering the game to follow this guide and get the mount. Wish me luck👍 Edit: I got it! It took me like 7h ish. I could have done it faster but I struggled at some points. Thanks a lot for the video!!

@@azdeh1894 You know the unidentified gear you get, identify it, Salvage it and then sell them. The big money makers are the globs of ectoplasm you get from the rare gears but anything works in bulk. (Really helpful if you have maxxed out inventory space) There is also methods for using the map currency to convert it into gold, watch guides on the matter. You want to do the map events over and over, find a squad and they will do their best to max out your gains.
Thank you so much for this guide! I just got the griffon now after maybe a total of 8hrs of playing. The things that held me back for completion a little is the facet bounty because it's not available at all times. Also some group events where you need other people's help. Yes, this guide might not be perfect but should point you in right directions. Read the comments here and find other info if something's not clear for you here.
I discovered that you don't actually need to have the bounty if someone else gets the bounty and you just happen to be there to help kill the facet boss. He still drops the required loot. He only spawns if someone picks up the bounty, though.

In Elon Riverdales the Jinn is spowning on the hill or whatever this is, it's called Bahdaj Vigil and it's on the other side of the hero point and you have to do an event first (on the same place). When you give the clothes to Shedi you have to chose the 4th option or you won't get the item for the collection.

Thank you a lot for the guide. Just got my Griffing using it in its entirety. Great detail and super helpful! Just one quick correction, the Champion Unbound Djinn for the Elon Riverlands collection is not on the same island as that hero point. It is on the island just north of it, disguised as a Confused Spirit. After you do the spirit's quest, it turns into the Djinn.

Thanks for this I just started the game only about 100hrs in and got the gryphon was hard making money but I started farming volatile magic then buying trophy shipments and selling the mats from them for profit. This truly helped :)

Thanks for the Guide, i followed it step by step and had no major issues, but only because i had much help from a friend. e.g. the Djinn is located more the north-west and your marker on the video is just wrongly placed. Furthermore, the route of the eggs could be more efficient, for i had to run 2-3 times the same way, which could have been prevented. Some more minor inaccuracies where alright to figure out myself, though with some weird paths/climbs it would have been amazing to see more footage. At any rate, Thank you very much for the video. 7:05 is the wrong location. It is on the Iland above and has to be triggered threw a meta Event. For reference : wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Champion_Unbound_Djinn Took me several hours to find out, maybe it safes you some time.
I got lucky when i was a noob didnt have the Gold for it but found on LFG a griffon group that did the bhes and everything else. Which saved me some headaches lol. That group helped me clear all the bhes needed the eggs and the trophies. The gold related stuff went by there each time i had the gold needed for one.They asked me if i had the gold for the rest i replied nah but you guys will help me with stuff i more worry about given im learning disabled all the locations and stuff i cant solo Griffon came in handy when EOD before release came with all LW content one episode a week. I wound up waiting and unlocking my skyscale items i knew i would need when LW4 stuff started releasing.
Started playing GW2 a lot about 2 months ago. Finished Story Journal, working on Map Completion and Gold Farming. Needed to switch it up so I decided to go for Griffon. Came across your video. And now after just 8-10 hrs of playtime I have my Griffon! Heck yeah. Nice guide, everything was smooth and easy. There's been a few game updates since this video some a few minor details are incorrect, but shouldn't matter too much if you read around and listen in-game to directions.

thanks Tekkit for the maps to nest and heart locations - which is about 70% of the effort needed here. if you like making guides, it's a good idea to have someone run thru and audit it for you before publishing as you omitted a lot of important details along the way that required about a dozen wiki lookups to resolve. you also tend to edit out critical parts of the in game pov to and through locations, which only adds to the confusion. thank you for taking the time to type in subtitles as your english is perfect but your native accent sounds unfamiliar to most listeners.
I have multiple accounts for that, but with sheer size of those marker projects, there will always be bugs:-) If you find some please report them on the discord in the #all-in-one-issues channel, so I can easily track and fix them:-)

never played GW2 before, and i follwed this guide pretty easily, only used wiki for 2 things to clarify some info.

Honestly, a lot of the steps where specific instructions would be super, SUPER helpful, he just skips right ahead to where the egg is, marked vaguely on the map..

And for the griffon sanctuary, just follow the instruction and look at the map...

Best Griffon Guide out there.
In Elon Riverdales the Jinn is spowning on the hill or whatever this is, it's called Bahdaj Vigil and it's on the other side of the hero point and you have to do an event first (on the same place). When you give the clothes to Shedi you have to chose the 4th option or you won't get the item for the collection.

Thank you a lot for the guide. Just got my Griffing using it in its entirety. Great detail and super helpful! Just one quick correction, the Champion Unbound Djinn for the Elon Riverlands collection is not on the same island as that hero point. It is on the island just north of it, disguised as a Confused Spirit. After you do the spirit's quest, it turns into the Djinn.

Tekkit you're awesome mate! I saw this video a few months as a new player and thought "man this looks hard as fudge and the gold cost? What?" However here I am no longer a complete nooby. After finishing the story I actually managed to get him the very same day! Thanks Tekkit for the TacO markers and the video!
Very good Guide step by step. I unlocked my griffon in 1 day (I already had the moneys).
Took 10 hours, and a broke mans pocket.
just got done and holy shit that was a lot, by the way you have to kill elites to get keys to unlock the chests at the end.
did you solo the elites?

Yea I used to springer to get to any place I needed to be without any issues.
Everyone who told me the griffon is just 250g and an instant get were very wrong. This was super tedious but manageable thanks to your guide.
Will try to get it one day haha, skyscale is useful but griffon looks too fun!

Thanks for this I just started the game only about 100hrs in and got the gryphon was hard making money but I started farming volatile magic then buying trophy shipments and selling the mats from them for profit. This truly helped :)

Thanks for the Guide, i followed it step by step and had no major issues, but only because i had much help from a friend.
e.g. the Djinn is located more the north-west and your marker on the video is just wrongly placed.
Furthermore, the route of the eggs could be more efficient, for i had to run 2-3 times the same way, which could have been prevented.
Some more minor inaccuracies where alright to figure out myself, though with some weird paths/climbs it would have been amazing to see more footage.

I got lucky when i was a noob didnt have the Gold for it but found on LFG a griffon group that did the bhes and everything else. Which saved me some headaches lol. That group helped me clear all the bhes needed the eggs and the trophies. The gold related stuff went by there each time i had the gold needed for one.They asked me if i had the gold for the rest i replied nah but you guys will help me with stuff i more worry about given im learning disabled all the locations and stuff i cant solo Griffon came in handy when EOD before release came with all LW content one episode a week. I wound up waiting and unlocking my skyscale items i knew i would need when LW4 stuff started releasing.

Started playing GW2 a lot about 2 months ago. Finished Story Journal, working on Map Completion and Gold Farming. Needed to switch it up so I decided to go for Griffon. Came across your video. And now after just 8-10 hrs of playtime I have my Griffon! Heck yeah. Nice guide, everything was smooth and easy. There's been a few game updates since this video some a few minor details are incorrect, but shouldn't matter too much if you read around and listen in-game to directions.
Thank you for the guide! It must be very frustrating to make a detailed, high effort video like this, only to have mouthbreathers in the comments complain it didn't show the exact buttons they have to press in order to navigate their character to the goal :D

thanks Tekkit for the maps to nest and heart locations - which is about 70% of the effort needed here. if you like making guides, it's a good idea to have someone run thru and audit it for you before publishing as you omitted a lot of important details along the way that required about a dozen wiki lookups to resolve. you also tend to edit out critical parts of the in game pov to and through locations, which only adds to the confusion. thank you for taking the time to type in subtitles as your english is perfect but your native accent sounds unfamiliar to most listeners.
I have multiple accounts for that, but with sheer size of those marker projects, there will always be bugs:-) If you find some please report them on the discord in the #all-in-one-issues channel, so I can easily track and fix them:-)

Champion Unbound Djinn does not spawn there, it spawns on the little desert island north west of there Bahdaj Vigil POI.
