I first went to Costa Rica in 1975 with my wife (a Tica) and it was the most affordable place . We bought a house in Pavas in 1978. Ever since, prices have soared and today is on a par with Chicago where I live. It’s a beautiful country but don’t expect great things on the economic front.

Every holiday will cost you money if you really want to enjoy it. The waterfalls looked amazing. Must have been totally worth it despite the adventurous hike. I just love such beautiful sunsets at beaches. The live music seems to have been really amazing.
A nice evenly paced tour of Costa Rico. Love the small villages - so quaint. Being immersed in the culture is a gift that everyone should experience. Nice work girls.
Tal, Mads, have you thought of adding a small scooter on the back of the van back home? They are decent very inexpensive and can travel quickly instead of moving the entire van. A friend I have does it and she told us it’s a game changer. Her partner is now learning how to ride a motorcycle ( With me) because now then can take turns to grabbing groceries. Best of luck! Yes! Costa Rica is beautiful & friendly. When we started going there in 2006/7 a typical casada at a little soda cost $2.50 and we rented little Cabina’s between $30- $50 dollars a night.

Useful info as looking fwd to time in Costa Rica. My anxiety would hit the roof paying 16 usd for 2 coffees and a pastry for take out unless it went to an animal sanctuary
You two rock socks, that daily is pretty cheap compared to the town I live in Comox Valley Canada is way more expensive than the beautiful place your at....
Sure the best things in life are "free" -- but it's just that it "can" often cost a small fortune to get to the free stuff. Otherwise it comes down to getting lucky and we know what those probabilities are ... Still have fun girls. You're work is inspiring.
