I wouldn’t advise you to skip the red lights on Ring Rd Kileleshwa, I have seen some very nasty accidents happen as a result

I spent several days in several various places in Kenya, travelling on my own and not even once was called muzungu, interesting.

      What's that?

@@pietrojenkins6901 mzungu comes from a swahili word Zunguka meaning travel. But many people take it as a derogatory word which is not the case. For example calling a white Kenyan mzungu sounds like they ain't citizens. But it was just the simplest way of describing most early travellers who were white in East Africa, and that has remained common todate. Scholarly speaking it could be interpreted to sound like calling a black American "African". People are too sensitive lately so safest is simply Sir or Madam which has its challenges in service delivery. Locals easily know who to attend to when its narrowed down to mzungu because they stand out and some locals think that this makes them get more attention more than the locals. Two drivers working for the same company picking a group of British tourists and another black americans at the Kenyan airport, whites will be quickly identified and picked up while the blacks will be mixed amongst the many blacks in Kenya. In the end it will be claimed that wazungu get priority, that's why they were picked first. If its a Kenyan guest description will be tall, bald, light skin, muscular, long beared or clean shaved, Indian, Somalian decent, hijab wearer etc. It's simply an adjective used as a point of reference really.

@@BS-kl9yf Wow! What an insight! 👌

@@lifehacks1019 glad you understood my point. I have noticed the word being taken out of context a lot yet a simple definition of Mzungu would explain that it is about travelling which is what Europeans did historically across Africa.
