People judge a book by its cover. A lot of times it boils down to being confident and having self-love. Many women lack this so they use their dress to attract attention. This is why I make TH-cam videos to help women develop self-love. Great video Tony!

Yes, we need to understand there is a time and a place! I go to gym and a lot of the male instructors wear tight t-shirts and short shorts, yet I have bumped into them outside on the street and never, ever are they dressed like that! By contrast, I was once having coffee with a (highly religious and conservative) male co-worker when no less than 3 women trotted past our table in high heels and extremely short, tight dresses. My colleague averted his eyes each time but it was full on. And these were older women in a "nice" area! Certainly don't mean to be nasty, I myself am over 40 and fit and proud, yet have to be mindful not to fall into the "over-compensation" trap.

Tony your videos are so thought provoking! I went on a first date a; few years ago with a police officer. Grown boy through and through! I had on a cute fitted top and fitted jeans. He told me don’t be afraid to show more skin, to dress sexier! He admitted he was very superficial and showed me pictures of him on social media with half naked women.. Got to go! Don’t need a grown boy telling me how to dress! ✌🏽🏃🏻♀️
A guy once told me I covered myself up too much and men are visual. I can’t wear tights, biker shorts, jean shorts, without some type of cover. I’m slim but I would feel naked without a cover.
That’s interesting because if you dressed more provocatively, they still would’ve had something to say about that PLUS try to categorize you as “loose booty”. (A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. - James 1:8)

This video is so on time. I’m currently revamping my wardrobe. Just adding a nice belt, hat, etc., elevates a look completely. Also, it’s better to leave things to the imagine. I love a nice pair of jeans and some heels vs a super short bodycon dress.
Hi Tony you are so right. Clothes are giving signals about the person.Glad you have addressed this subject and enlightened people.A good subject to discuss. Awareness and doing something sensible to address the situation. Helpful to everyone. Thank you so very much.Kindest regards.
Clothes do not have to be expensive for a woman to look classy and respectable cos you can have expensive clothes on and the whole outfit look cheap just cos it's too revealing. Men will just think you thirsty and treat you accordingly.
I think clothing (plus accessories and makeup) is one of the biggest ways to express ourselves and we should always have our own personal style formed from what we feel our best, truest, most comfortable and beautiful selves in, not on what is trending and what the media suggests. You cannot express yourself as individual dressing like someone else dictates but you can always show the world who you are and what your personality is by making your own fashion choices, by presenting your own style and by wearing your self-love, confidence and personality with you wherever you go, that's what makes you special.
@@kaleema1987 Thank you for sharing and i'm glad to hear this, it's very good. That's true, but people absolutely do judge and they, sadly, will continue.. Many have been fooled by "a man in a suit," but sagging pants is just sloppy...It sends a message of being irresponsible, lazy, and careless...Not my personal judgement, but ijs, it's unattractive...

I Love this video and The fact that you address the influence of fashion trends throughout society and the effects on one's relationships but also the relationship with the self. I've been thinking about it too. When you start to see yourself differently you dress differently and when you love and trust yourself, your style might not appeal to everybody.
I agree with everything you said except for the dreads. What’s wrong with dread locs? I feel that’s so stereotypical to assume something negative about a person based on them having dreads.
In my 20’s my parents told me I dressed and held myself like a married woman. I dressed up all the time. I thought that was the way to catch a good man. If clothes make the man, I dressed to get the man or at least thought I did. I dressed in Sunday Best. What they was telling me is that made me less approachable. But, when I went to club, I danced the whole night every time I went. And that attention was enough for me.
Sadly, to say that our clothes do define what PEOPLE THINK about us. I know when I was younger I didn’t think it mattered. But now that I’m older, how my appearance looks to ANYONE DOES MATTER to me❗️ Not so much as to what they think about me, but I WANT YOU TO KNOW, I DID NOT come to play with you and I WANT TO be seen as a Professional Business Woman. And because I dress the way I dress my daughters do the same, except for that younger one🤣🤣 You know you always have that rebellious one🤣. But she knows how to dress when doing business👏🏾

I have tried to instill the importance of dress and hair in my students for 14 years now. Each year, it gets worse and I am told the world doesn't care. Then recruiters ask me why do so many kids show up in casual attire, colored hair, etc. I want them to have the opportunities they desire but they fight me like I'm against them instead of for them.
In my opinion, my wardrobe matches my mood at the moment so if I want to put on booty shorts and a nice tank top then that’s okay. The way I see it is it shouldn’t matter how people perceive you as long as you’re comfortable in your outfit and like what you see then that’s all that matters. That’s just my opinion though 🤷🏾♀️.
I agree that attire can be associated with mood, but I don't think any self-respecting woman who isn't seeking sexual attention should walk around with her butt cheeks hanging out...It sends the wrong message even if you're not a hoochie...That's just my opinion...Therefore, if you're in the "mood" for sexual deviants to approach you with their inappropriate lustful thirst, then by all means walk around showing your a$$....Pun not intended...If you dress with your butt out free, they will think your a$$ is for free!

He's right. I will never forget standing next to a female and a guy asked me..."Where do you work" he abruptly asked the woman next to me "When you get out" 😮 DAMN. The LOOK on her face. He looked at me and said "You be getting up early to go to work huh?" he looked at her and asked something like "what streets you be on" then started naming streets. Turns out...ol girl really was a prostitute! Every circle has some trash in it somewhere. Might be a little, might be a lot. I would breeze through a bar-b-q or gathering and be treated with conversation and respect. She was treated like a nobody. Sometimes told she was a whore. Her "man" was standing near me. He looked embarrassed. We looked at each other. I shook my head and said..."You can always smell it on a girl who sell it."
Look up capsule wardrobe...then limit your color choices that look classy or timeless -black, navy, nude/beige, grey. All black outfits makes you look put together without trying...
A bad man will treat you bad (rape, violent) no mattee how you dress conservativw or not. Lets stop blaming women clothing for the bad behavior of men.
Absolutely! These predators are good at putting on facades to lure in their victims. Whether fully dressed or half naked, if they want to do harm they will find someone.
As a survivor myself, I can confirm that this is 100% true. I was dressed modestly when it happened. Still, I remain modestly dressed to further protect myself and make sure I’m not sending the wrong message, but you just can’t control who comes your way. Dress how you want to be addressed, but don’t think you’re automatically safe because you look respectable. It’s sad but just the truth.
The sad part about our community (the Blk Community) is both men and women are really ONLY seen for what our bodies represent. For men it’s physicality and for WOMEN it’s sexuality. Just look at EVERY mainstream black (or black adjacent) woman in music. Literally, every damn part of their bodies being displayed. That’s what our young girls see and they see *those* women ‘making it’ so they think that is how a Blk woman should look to be desirable. You don’t see any non-Blk girls in music HAVING to do this to be famous. This is not on accident that only Blk women are *literally* objectified by their bodies at EVERY step of the way to be in popular culture. Society doesn’t want to show young girls respect for their bodies lest we actually expect RESPECT from the society we live in.
Google or search for capsule wardrobe guides. Then take those ideas to the thrift store. Only buy items that were mention on that capsule wardrobe site. Limit color choices to 4 classic ones - blk, navy, grey, beige. If you want something bright or colorful then pick a shoe or bag that has color.

My husband hates when I dress up and put myself together. He gets so upset and act negative and discourage me. If I dress up and go on the road he calls me none stop arguing with me. I am so disgusted with my life with this male...
Sounds like he might be cheating on you. The argument is a distraction and deflection to keep your mental off what is really going on. Stop arguing with him. Start watching his actions and your finances. Rather it's physically, emotionally, and or financially, infidelity hurts. Have a game plan. Go to the doctor and get checked for STDs and herpes (have to ask for that separate otherwise they won't include it). Open up a p.o. box and a separate account. Start moving money to that account and have the statement sent there. Tell no one b/c they may try to discourage you or tell him. If it turns out he's not cheating in any capacity, great. Find out if he's willing to go to counseling to get to the root of the problem. In the meantime you are stacking your money to file for divorce, move, and pay for your own therapy. It's not easy yet your self esteem and worth are PRICELESS. It's even more imperative to take action if there are children so that they don't see, internalize and repeat these toxic behaviors later in their lives. Best of luck to you.

This was helpful- I literally just seen someone online & I liked her outfit & said I should try to wear that but then I thought- “do I see most married women dress like that,” and thought against it- & not trying to dress to fit in for that reason only but at my age what do I look like wearing a crop top or have my mid drift showing anyway 😂less forever 21 and more Zara & New York & Company vibes for me
It's so sad that many women don't understand this. I talked to a old friend recently and she wouldn't even cover up herself if her future boyfriend or husband wanted her to. 😐
I would
Why are people so judgmental?🤣🤣🤣🤷🏾♀️
This video and the comments have really helped me out.
To each his own. My thing is some folk need not share. A onesie when you're 300lbs and no draws? Too much info.
If oil was required to slip into your shorts and your package is flapping .....
😂
Thank you for this 🙏🏾❤️
Interesting subject
And I didn't care about what I was wearing as long as it matched I wasn't frumpy I was clean and that's all I care about people used to always look like they were shocked to me I was admiring people outfits now it looked like people just throw things on and just come out the house unless thier going somewhere special
Now that I've been practicing sick love for the last 3 years I dress like I'm going somewhere everyday I dress to flatter my figure address to impress me so If I feel pretty, confident, courageous, proud, unique with my head up and a smile I'm having a great day
I just did a video about this. Thanks Tony.
I loved your analogy
Whether i dress sexy or not i attract germz they say i have a look 😩
i wear a hoodie enough said. i like it more than a dress shirt.
TRUTH💪🏾💋good Dad 👍🏾
The miseducation is that people think their perception is the only thing that matters
I needed this thank you tony!
Whatever happened to the mystery and a man having to get to know you. Your attire says I am not looking to lay with you
clothes can tell everything plus it’s advertising like your character if the person is owning private or public parts. 😂😂
I dress like a frump, I won’t even lie. $5 hoodies from Walmart and jeans. I have to do better.
Me too girl !!!!! 😭😫😫 lmaoo
@@hoooyea163 We gotta get it together😂💃🏾
Same here. Especially since the pandemic . I've gotten used to being at home. Casual comfort clothes 🤷🏾♀️ I definitely will make a change.
Very true yes 1980s hair great
Lmfaoooooooo 😭😭😭😭 please ladies tell me what to look up on pinterest bc i dress like im in the 80s forreal i got bangs and hair
Look up capsule wardrobe...then limit your color choices that look classy or timeless -black, navy, nude/beige, grey. All black outfits makes you look put together without trying...
@@profmj7630 thank u gonna do this
I am so far from fashion....what is a bandage dress????
Listening.
Thank you Tony
Ready to hear this 👂
I agree.. but what if you go to the beach a lot? Ie bikini 😆
very important points here
A bad man will treat you bad (rape, violent) no mattee how you dress conservativw or not. Lets stop blaming women clothing for the bad behavior of men.
Not true, there’s all ways excuse makers God tells women to adorn themselves meaning cover your body🤷♀️
Facts
@@Ang_Nicole I hope you are okay!

Thanks for all
Ladies are the hidden Secret!!
I don't have money so buy clothes 😁😀
Google or search for capsule wardrobe guides. Then take those ideas to the thrift store. Only buy items that were mention on that capsule wardrobe site. Limit color choices to 4 classic ones - blk, navy, grey, beige. If you want something bright or colorful then pick a shoe or bag that has color.
Catching up!
Modern chic,
The main goal is to not dress half your age & present wears that compliment your true self. Look more like a package than baggage.
Wow!
THIS RIGHT HERE....
AMAN
The bible does mention how women should dress and that's modestly!!!!
Old Fashion, but he's going to cheat, doesn't matter some body's going to cheat
Tony your really good w womans brands styles names thr sales the deals even the deal at Victoria secret panty deals the smells and bath n body n the names WOW u really pay attention to detail
When you dress like a lady, you never have to ask a man to treat you like one.
3:46 and up drug dealer for sure .
Booty meat 🤣 omg where's the lie. I can't find it 💁🏽♀️
Yes drug dealer. Been Gay lol
My bf gets so insecure if I got out wearing a top that shows cleavage. And says all your boobs are out which is not true. I don’t get it. What’s the big deal?
I go for well groomstyled and sexy during meet ups ...tidy bit raunchy ...could do better advice
My husband hates when I dress up and put myself together. He gets so upset and act negative and discourage me. If I dress up and go on the road he calls me none stop arguing with me. I am so disgusted with my life with this male...
Take back your power and change your mindset, sis. Never let a man make you hate your life. God bless 🙏🏾
Damn you can't let someone who feels so bad about themselves poison your mind. He's trying to drag you down with him
He is toxic. He is prolly operating from a place of insecurity
