I think what kills Frozen Empire is what killed the previous one and that is not enough Bill Murray. Bill Murray was the star of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. But Bill Murray isn't the star of Frozen Empire. And that's a mistake. Bill Murray should've been in the movie from beginning to end. Bill Murray should've had a story that was developed with Sigourney Weaver and their now grown-up son Oscar. The movie should focus less on the Spangler family and focus on the Venkman family. It should've focused on The Venkman's.
And many scenes were altered or cut from the movie that would have made it a better movie. Scenes like when Bill Murray is wearing a scarf talking to Paul Rudd. That was cut. Scenes like with Bill Murray in Ghostbusters uniform wearing the dark sunglasses and saying "Yeah. That was some talent,". That was cut. The scene where Bill Murray sees Annie in Ghostbusters uniform and says, "YEAH!". And that was disappointingly replaced with Bill Murray saying, "Looing Sporty,". And Mayor Peck's opening scene dialogue was cut short and some of it was used later in a scene at the police station. Annie saying "Ghostbusters. What do ya want?" was cut too. So much stuff was altered and cut and that made Frozen Empire a bad movie in the theater.
And when the Ghostbusters theme song is playing it should have focused on the Ghostbusters and instead if focuses too much again on the quote on quote "Spangler Family".
Do you think Ivan would have done that?
And I didn't like McKenna Grace. She looks nothing like her character. She has dark curly short black hair and wears glasses in the movie. But McKenna really has long blond hair and doesn't wear glasses. She must be wearing a wig in the movie. And her female ghost relationship was killing time and taking more time away from Bill Murray.
All that focus on the Spangler family took lots of time away from Bill Murray too. In fact, Bill Murray enters the movie as a regular guy with little to no fanfare. And that's not right. Bill Murray isn't a regular guy. Bill Murray is an icon. Bill Murray is a legend in this business we call Hollywood. And Bill Murray is a star. And Bill Murray should've been the star in Frozen Empire too. Gil and Jason got it wrong with Bill Murray and Ivan would've gotten it right with Bill Murray in Frozen Empire.
