Having worked at a Chrysler dealership for several years in the detroit area and seeing dozens of salvage titles vehicles come in for various reasons. They have so many underlying issues. Can't get a good alignment on them because the subframe got twisted, had one that needed a transmission due to the case cracked and between the transmission and dash pad and air bags was another 12k in repairs to make it a driveable vehicle. That's after the whole front corner got put back on and wasn't straight on the alignment rack. 95% of the vehicles at a auction are absolutely not worth the time, labor and parts to repair them. Insurance isn't stupid. Unless your time is worth less then minium wage your better off paying for a clean car vs dealing with the hacks and issues salvage titles come with.
We just had a salvage title Lincoln Continental, from Texas, come into my bodyshop, in Michigan, to get a junkyard door put on it. It looked good from 5-10 feet away but once you actually looked at it. IT WAS BAD. I probably wouldn't have looked at the entire car until we were putting the door on and accidenaly bumped it into the fender and a quarter inch thick piece of body filler just fell off the fender like nothing. That's when I checked the whole thing out and it was rough.... I could "understand" doing something like that to the quater panel if you don't have the capablitites to weld in a new quater panel, but a fender is like $200 and would look way better than whatever it was they did lmao.
Super hype you're in Detroit, I've been thinking about buying a stolen Mopar for a while now. Been watching your channel and others to learn more about them, im excited to learn 🤙
Living in Metro Detroit (about 30 mins north of Downtown), it is not uncommon to see a couple stolen hellcats on I-94 blowing through traffic heading south to the hood. Actually a friend sold his 18 demon couple years ago because he kept getting followed home or stalked while driving around.. he got an older ZL-1 in a similar color spec and needless to say he is completely bummed out. You gotta be crazy or have a super max garage/bury it behind other vehicles to own a desirable Mopar around here. Kinda sad when you see one driving around you already have the preconceived notion that it’s stolen
I can imagine a hellcat with a Whipple in my wife's Journey RT 🤔 I do love her that much but I'm still in need of an engine harness for a 10' Grand sport auto . I can't bring any more cars home until I finish building the C6 😂
Dream car is trackhawk. 30,40, 50 for a salvage car is tough to swallow when you can get a running car with no damage for the same. I don't know if we have anything like that in Wichita Kansas
Everybody talks about Detroit and how great it is and all this other stuff how come check out Grand rapids Michigan yes you have to go to Detroit for copart
I worked in Detroit for yrs as a mechanic I must have fixed 1000s of stolen recovery I called it the Detroit ride share haha men had screw drivers and women had butter knifes 😅😢
What’s crazy is you finance the car from the dealer.. so it’s payed for already .. you then pay insurance companies to save you money during a theft.. but then they low ball you on what it’s worth and total it out and sell your car at action for profit or the difference..
That track hawk has to be 20 pounds of boost or more.. My whipple has a 3.875 that track hawk has a 2.6? dayum. The owners never get their vehicles back in Detroit because the impound yards around here never reach out to anyone I dont think. lol
Since alot of those Cars were stolen. I wonder how many of those were involved in a Michigan State Police chase and were PITT Maneuvered. That might explain the dents in the red dodge pick-up
On vehicles that smell bad, look up and see if anyone has an ozonator. They remove all smells. It’s a machine that creates ozone that removes all odours.
I've been watching the trackhawk for months. Thanks for showing me cause I can't wait till it goes up for bid, its listed with water flood damage on copart
I got a trx 2 of them actually. I’m fine with the same ram interior even though it’s not. Mine has the upgraded seats with Napa leather, and only the high Trim rams have leather wrapped dash, pano roof eta like mine has. You pay for the frame, the motor, suspension, the wide body eta.
I believe I do have an excellent question. As you pointed out the Vin number when it’s torn out, it’s kind of obvious that it’s stolen when you do end up purchasing the vehicle at the salvage auction. What can you do to remedy not having a Vin number anymore?
The vin is stamped in multiple places such as the frame, you can get a new vin plate if one of the few places that are stamped are still in decent condition.
Use code SCRAPLIFELEE50 to get 50% OFF your first Factor box plus 20% off your next month of orders at bit.ly/3yQZ2A7
im good thanks
@LeeC Why do the stolen cars always have the rearview ripped out... I never understood this.
Thank you I will definitely use it
Pretty sure they rip they box off the mirror cause it's gps or OnStar related for tracking not 💯 in that
You called the purple one a challenger
That demon got me stuck watching all your videos. Keep up the content!!
Watch his Porsche build. Its older but dope!
Let’s make him buy a trackhawk like this comment if you want him to buy a trackhawk
Watch til the end, look down
He did but it sneaky
Sure😂
He did
The way he gave it that much attention at the start should’ve gave it away 😭
That jeep is the one you want!! It was probably a clean build that sadly got stolen from a decent owner
Or he got tired of putting differentials in it so the jeep got "stolen"...

THATS MY WRAPPED GREEN CHARGER IN THE VIDEO THEY STOLE IT TWICE AND WRECKED IT ON 696 AND GRATIOT. I miss it so much😢😢
😢
Stay strapped or get clapped. But seriously, sorry about that buddy. I am lucky to live in the country and have a garage as well.
Go buy yourself a real vehicle Ford or Chevy
I’m sorry to hear that 😢
@@danielknepper6884 dodge is still better in my opinion like dodge ram jeeep

10:02 I don’t believe that’s a “challenger” haha
That’s a charger hellcat
I’m like what did he say😂
He’s trolling

The red Ram TRX may have had a PIT/TVI done on it. Could explain the dent on the back. Same with the purple widebody at the end.
That silver track hawk with the whipple is a must buy !!!
Super hype you're in Detroit, I've been thinking about buying a stolen Mopar for a while now. Been watching your channel and others to learn more about them, im excited to learn 🤙
In California it’s insanely simple to register an out of state salvage vehicle, just a few simple steps
I’d keep a close eye on that modded track hawk, that whipple is worth a ton, might even be a fun project
He said, widebody challenger to the charger😂😂😂
Don’t laugh at lee
Wow, he made a mistake while looking at MOPAR cars all day. That's totally worth a comment.
I see why lol. there’s to many mopars to count
Waiting for this comment

Why is he bummed out? At least what he has now is a little more uncommon than the dime a dozen thiefmobiles, and obviously less of a target.
I believe smashing the rear window prevents the alarm from going off
That hellcat Durango was ours😂 got stolen last July and we were pissed
Wasn’t interested in buying it back?
Is that challenger at the end that demon 170 that got stolen???
yep
Inside peanut butter outside jelly 🔥🎼🔥🙌🏼🤔
That jeep is well built for sure and the Durango is decently repairable

I've thought about a Hellcat for my Journey Crossroads. I thought I was the only one thinking such a thing. 😂😂
My favorite Copart..bought like 12 cars from that location
I've been watching this dude for 2 years
Oh yea? Ive been watching for 15

The Silver trackhawk from the start of the video is sold to buffx customisation shop
This one 21:24
Great video, this is what started our company to help protect Mopars.
My favorite kind of videos. On a Friday too? LFG !!!!!!!

Build one!
16:27, he took the vin plate off so that he could find a crashed trx and swap the vin, so that it could be sold and registered under that new vin
I have a red 392 charger and love my peanut butter interior. I actually want to wrap it plumb crazy. I finally see my vision in a video
You’re definitely a MOPAR guy now.
That purple challenger was a beautiful colour
That Trackhawk is probably pushin well over a G to the wheel, what a gnarly ass ride that'd be
Nahh😂 prolly bout 9
Hard to say, I forget the CFM flow that particular Whipple supports, but it can definitely do well over 1,000.
You can only bid on cars there online, or can you go in person
You guys should do something crazy with a sxt for a change
Keep waiting for Lil Durks TRX. Would be awesome.
When I see these mopars. Especially the stolen and wrecked ones all I can think of are those ratchet street car take overs.
Had out SRT Durango stolen and the thieves replaced the tented glass broke when they stole it. Rebadged it and swapped the vin.
11:08 - "Driver lower bag blown"
Me: "There's an airbag down there!?!?" Huh, I do learn something everyday.
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
That Shaker Widebody would have me doing math if I had the money. Easy swap into a M6 car, plus the extra parts/ability to keep the OG drivetrain.
Everybody talks about Detroit and how great it is and all this other stuff how come check out Grand rapids Michigan yes you have to go to Detroit for copart
I live 10 mins away from this co part I know this exact area
If you had to drive a car that has a salvage title some insurance companies will not give you full coverage. Trust me I know 😃
We have the same issue here in south africa cars can sit very long at auction befor it get auctioned off
Welcome back to MI. Looks like the Copart off Allen Rd.
Yup thats the one
10:02 wrecked wide body challenger..that shits a charger my boy 😂
The peanut butter and jelly charger!
I would seriously LOVE to have that modified Trackhawk...but like you said, you can't start it so it's always a gamble.
I’d buy that purple charger with peanut butter interior it’s would be a easay fix
7:48 that's police pit maneuver damage
I worked in Detroit for yrs as a mechanic I must have fixed 1000s of stolen recovery I called it the Detroit ride share haha men had screw drivers and women had butter knifes 😅😢
10:00 widebody challenger????
i was thinking the same thing🤣
Ope, challengers on the mind
@@LeeC nothing wrong with that😂
It’s not that deep.
The burgundy one looks like it was stolen. Used as a takeover car. sliding and smacking into stuff

FI chiller on the Trackhawk

Where's this lot at I want to buy a few cars?
U should get the widebody engine swap to a 170 demon engine
I just saw a video on an older magnum wagon 5.7 hemi, dude broke it down building that motor with supercharger, buildn a 5.7 hemi
Since alot of those Cars were stolen. I wonder how many of those were involved in a Michigan State Police chase and were PITT Maneuvered. That might explain the dents in the red dodge pick-up
😂 someone should invent a car alarm that has a dynamo electric shock seat wired to the supercharger 😂
he need to get that whipple trackhawk absolutly needs to
Lol second job here driving a forklift - GOLD!!! 😂
17:40 straight to very climatic 😂
18:12 I wanna hear the WEEEEE
the seat leaned real far back almost made me spit my drink out XD
Do they do vin swaps with these missing plates?
Just found your page and I got to say your job is my dream job.

I want to buy a hellcat shell and do it that way. I wonder what the shells go for?
The seat laying back, is called the Detroit lean
Here in california why do these come up with reassigned vin tags? I don't understand why
Peanut butter and Grape Jelly Charger, I love it
I want a hellcat but I’m scared to get it stolen by certain people 😞

I've been watching the trackhawk for months. Thanks for showing me cause I can't wait till it goes up for bid, its listed with water flood damage on copart
we took a scatpack to detroit and i was so scared of it getting stolen all day lol
I just want the Hellcat engine for my 2004 Dodge Hemi pickup
Guys he may be a mopar guy, I’m not completely sure
The symbol on them rubber cup holder pads is the same as the symbol on the end of the air filter.
Pretty sure the steering wheel on the Durango is hooked up through a obd2 module and it probably got ripped out
Welcome to Michigan brother
you def need the trx or modified trackhawk
Best channel out there. 💯
I just assume most chargers/challengers on the road are stolen
get a chevy ss, you’ll love it
Thanks for the knowledge im use it next time im looking at the auction
The DMV or law enforcement removed the VIN on the TRX because the thieves swapped it with one that wasn’t stolen so it doesn’t belong on the truck
Dude come visit us in flint bruh bruh detroit dudes be wildin
That silver trackhawk all built tho is nice

Two videos in one. The demon on the trailer.
There’s someThing about that Durango shell that screams potential Rat Rod to me.
I hope you got that track hawk
