Oh sorry it’s so hard for you to hold in the urge to verbally harass people for being who they want to be in a way that doesn’t even affect you. Stay at private school, public school kids don’t want some bully who doesn’t know how to mind their own damn business.
Oh yes they should. It’s not acceptable for children to be mean to each other over something so basic as identity, whether it’s gender, race, religion, or anything similar. Even if you don’t agree with the (scientifically backed) concept of gender identity, that doesn’t mean your child gets to be a jerk to their trans classmate.
I have a music teacher that’s trans and they always say that so many people put them down but my class is the most supportive and it just breaks my heart to know that people bully others for their gender
Thaank you, this is a pretty good example of how a teacher should take aside their students, and how a student should respond. Misgendering is rude and shitty- it shouldn’t be acceptable in a classroom environment.
So I'm a Christian and being trans does go against my religious beliefs HOWEVER I would never treat any trans person badly or any differently from anyone else. We're all people deserving of love and respect!

Teachers have no right speaking about that stuff. If they can’t speak about religion, they shouldn’t be able to persuade someone about someone else’s identification and it should be a conversation between the parents and teacher. Edit: I love how y’all think your comments are gonna change my mind.

"Teachers" that support child abuse and mutilation should be removed from classrooms and arrested. "Trans" is sick. Those kids need psychiatric help, not "gender affirmation". Over 99% of kids that "transition" commit suicide. Not because they aren't "accepted", but because of when they realize what they have done to themselves.

First of all no one is at fault in this scenario. Yes she should've minded her business and shouldn't have been rude calling him and IT. Secondly this will more than likely go straight home to the parents especially if open communication is kept and now the teacher has opened a can of worms not only for herself but the student/students themselves.
I would argue the parents are at fault. And then the school system if they don't have the teachers back (yes I know full well they probably won't. Still doesn't make it ok that they don't.)
@@callmeheliza3845 again that's opening a can of worms for you if you were said teacher yes there is freedom of speech but even then depending on the bases of what was said it could potentially cause you to lose your teaching license and either yourself or the school district getting sued not to mention it puts you in harms way especially with how easy it is for someone to get doxxed(sp?). In my personal opinion just like a job a person's beliefs and opinions should be left at the door. The teacher should have cut off any exchange of conversation and shouldn't make anyone feel guilty.
Yeah that's the first thing I thought. While it was a nice speech, it's going straight home to the parents and they are going to go ham on this teacher for trying to change their child's beliefs and forcing their opinion on them. Beliefs are like religion, don't talk about em openly in a public situation, don't shame people for having them, and don't try to change their minds.
I think a teacher can talk about kindness without getting into the whole gender discussion. Please don't turn kids against their parents, even if you think the parents are wrong. Just teach that it's possible to be kind to everyone, even if we don't agree with their beliefs or lifestyle. If the student/parent really have an issue, change classes maybe?
In model that behavior, she is modeling judgment and closemindedness when she thinks she’s modeling acceptance. Instead, she should’ve taken that child aside and said, let’s find a way to be kind and be all friends together at school. That’s the things that I say to my kindergartners and first graders when they are having a disagreement I say you know when we’re at school here we’re all friends together and everybody is important everybody’s feelings matter, so let’s be kind and gentle and think of everybody’s Feelings and do our best to be kind to everyone. We don’t talk about politics or triggering topics and neither do the teachers of the older children, and when I substitute in older, children’s classrooms and things like this, come up, I say well this is a matter for Home at school, We are kind to everybody, no matter what they Believe when you’re at home you do as your parents tell you.
