    We're seeing an aspect of that new assembly process they recently talked about, where the body panels are going to be painted individually, then brought to final assembly, though of course with Cybertruck no paint is needed on the exterior. The chassis rolls down the line, with full access to install wiring, seats, motors, and everything else, and then the ss exterior panels are simply brought to the line and easily and quickly installed! I don't know if they're bolted or bonded or welded on, or some combo of all 3, but the thickness of the door exteriors is such that they don't even need door beams for crash protection, and that rear panel on each side significantly adds to structural rigidity and stiffness, being mounted to the gigacasting all the way to the top. I imagine the front fenders and the frunk skin are actually much thinner for absorbing frontal impacts, especially as we see what looks like a traditional hood inner structure on the frunk lid. Also, like with other Teslas, even the roof glass and windshield add to structural rigidity. They're part of the exoskeleton along with the tonneau cover, door skins, and the outside and inside of the bed.

    Thank you for this factory tour! Amazing! Looks to be at least 100 stations, meaning up to 100 partial builds on the line at any given moment. Looks like they took the trucks they were working on and just staged them there. There are more than enough batteries to build 60 trucks a day 6 days a week. Why aren't they there yet? Best case is simple issues like hiring, training, and coordinating & tweaking the production line. Maybe a supplier or two is a bit slow in ramping up. Worst case? They're having to hand-mill & hand-fit certain parts on the line to get a perfect finish, or trucks are spending too much time at the end of the line in QC (hence the light tunnel).

    I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that there are so many Cybertrucks at the factory where they have to make tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of them as soon as possible. I know it's been 4 years since the announcement but they haven't been sitting on their hands this whole time. Production is in full swing (or it will be after the tourists are cleared out) and people will still be complaining that they aren't being made fast enough. I assume they are going to be running 3 shifts (24 hours a day) until current demand is met. A lot of people will cancel their preorder due to the price increase (it was expected though, everything has gone up in price), but a lot of other people that hated the CT will end up wanting one. If I know how humans work, expect to see some crazy resale values in the short term from people just looking to flip their reservation to make some quick cash.

If Making a trickle of trucks is the best they can do; cancel the project or wait until they actually have a production line. Name another vehicle new model vehicle where production was a dozen a day? Ferrari? Tesla can't make a production line because they are missing a giant part - the battery. The cybertruck is suppose to use the tabless 4680 cell, to be limited to 12 trucks means the failure rate is very high.

    I think they show this, and not model Y line, since model Y is the bread and butter, and its more similar to other automakers vehicles then this, so others could learn and improve from elons decade + hard work optimizing manufacturing process. Thats his secret sauce. The cyber truck is so new, and so difficult, he can show it because he knows no one else has the resources to even come close to making this.

    Knowing Tesla, that factory is not in demo mode. It's in production mode and that's how slow the line is moving. To date, I think they've delivered only 12 Cybertrucks. There are serious problems on that line.

I ordered a truck That could go 400+ plus miles With a promised under 3 seconds 0 to 60. And it was like $65k I think when I ordered it. Guess I'll just stick with my model y

    Sure frenchy? - Check the First year of model 3 production, the first year of F150 lightning production. Let's see if you are correct. While Model 3 did start with 100 in late August 2017, it was 1500 the next month and 20,000 a month by december - You think Cybertruck the facilities Elon showed will be doing that; not a chance. Elon Himself states they won't have a production line for 12-18 months; which means who knows in Elon talk. The Cybertruck took 4 years to get here the Y took 1 year from intro same as the Model 3. Ford F150 lighting first produced April 18 2022 - built 1400 the first week and second week and ,55000 built by the end of 2022. You're wrong

    If Tesla was a baseball batter - they'd have a bunt for a lucky on base for original Roadster; a 2 run hit to center feild with the model 3, a walk with the X, a home run with the Y; but a strike out with Semi, a strike out with new roadster, a out on a bunt with FSD, a strike out with Robotaxi, and a hit into a triple play out cybertruck. The trend for Tesla isn't that lovely. As they downplay the recent major anticipated income failures revolving around the f'd up 4680, they distract with BS AI, robots so on that will produce no income for the near term. Honestly is calling a spade a spade and Tesla's hand was good but they threw out their best cards.

    • @zachmoyer1849
      @zachmoyer1849 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are building lines from scratch. I think the slow rollout of electric vehicles from legacy automakers is just proof of how difficult it is to do. The Roadster and Semi aren't worthy of a line from scratch if the demand isn't there, and truck guys are pretty loyal to their brands and the luxury market is saturated. Even though FSD and Robotaxi aren't here yet, it's not really a failure. These are hard problems to solve, and regulations probably only expect perfection. Additionally, people aren't really open to the idea yet. However, it has created buzz around the company, so it wasn't all for naught.
