    Great review! One of my absolute favorite functions not mentioned is the ability to have your door(s) unlock and self present upon proximity. I have mine set up for at home (only), so when I walk up to my car ('21 M3P) the door will open without even having to touch anything. I love this feature, especially if I have things in my hand where opening the door handle can be awkward. The S3XY Knob is such a cool device and all the additional features and functions you get with the App just make this a must-have device for any Tesla owner.

    Love that wiper action! Wiper control is possibly the thing that needs the most help. I’ve gotten used to managing the wipers now, and can turn them on and off and manually adjust, etc, but I find the idea of hooking up some of these quite appealing, for wipers and doors and maybe some other things. Thanks for sharing your experience with the product!

    This is Perfect for Uber. A lot of people don’t know how to open the doors and every time I’m in the car it locks so I have to press that little button on the screen multiple times to get it to unlock.
    I’d program this to open all doors and the driver would be the unlock button

    I got my S3XY buttons for two main reasons, in Alberta and BC Canada there are lots of highways that don't have Tesla chargers, so the battery preconditioning is stellar! The next is when camping in the back I use one button to turn on the lights, lock the doors and open the rear hatch, just excellent. I would like them to add a seat resume to drivers position. I move my drivers seat forward to make easy access for Bower our Yellow Lab, but I have to touch the seat button and hit the screen to resume, would be nice if that could be accessed with the S3XY buttons!

  • @Caspar0s
    @Caspar0s 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

    That is the way to do buttons in a car. Gives you the ability to do what you want them to do, but keeps them in a standard place and easy reach and if you don't want them then you don't have to buy them. Thought it would be a bit dumb at first but was swayed by the amount of customization.

  • @dingbatt
    @dingbatt 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The App in display mode can be used as a driver’s display (with a suitable mount in front of the steering wheel). From another video I watched it displayed blinker and brake lights. It would be even better if it could display continuous blind spot monitoring as well (not just when you indicate).
    With the S3XY knob able to do gear selection, all they need is a replacement indicator stalk for the steering column (for the Teslas that need it😊) and it would be perfect.

  • @anshulg14
    @anshulg14 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Great video and love it, and this will sound crazy but gonna say it - if it's so easy to plug with your car system, doesn't it raises a question of security, specially for certain kind of people. Someone just needs access to your car for 5 min (and thats when you did first time, a pro - a min, maybe less) and they can literally hack your entire car, something for Tesla to think about security 😇😉
    I'm not saying not to provide access but shouldn't be without an authorisation !!!

      I doubt it. That means there's added weight without the power to propel it.
      I'm sure the output is more dynamic than just on/off make sure it's getting the highest efficiency possible in relation to speed. So that could mean on the hwy, it would be a 70/30 split, 90/10, or 100/0 depending on needs.

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      People have tested it and seen that yes their efficiency gets quite a bit better, but Enhance suggests not using this feature for long durations so it's not something I think that would be useful in daily commuting for example

    Can the Knobs or Buttons change the programming of the octovalve in the Model Y to prioritize cooling the cabin when we get into the car on a hot day? Sometimes it takes several minutes of no air flow and 90+ temperature in the cabin before cooling kicks in. If the Knobs/Buttons can't do this, is there any other way to change the cooling priorities to get immediate cooling?

    • @youtubecommenter-on9kd

      I don't think anyone will experience this, but it's not impossible. Best bet is to remove third party accessories before getting warranty work done.

It's an expensive item, but I'm hoping it will work well for me. Do you know if the plastic pry tools shown in the video come with the order? I'm hoping I'll be able to connect the commander via the console access in the driver's footwell, but if that isn't available, I expect to be able to use the connection accessed via the passenger door frame (as you showed in the video) -- worst comes to worse I'll hook it up in the back of the console and dangle it out there, but frankly, not in love with that idea, not that it'll really bother me that much ....

    Hello, I've been using FSD for two years now, up to version 12.3.6. There's been a significant risk along this short stretch where it suddenly makes a right turn at a specific location before entering the tunnel. After intervening and restarting FSD in the tunnel, it makes another sudden right turn at a specific location upon exiting the tunnel. At that time, I slowed down to the minimum speed to observe, and eventually, it returned to the lane, but it's very dangerous during busy periods on the highway. These two locations have consistently posed issues across all previous versions. Every time a new FSD version is released, I hope for improvements. To be honest, it's dangerous if I don't intervene. Considering I'm in British Columbia, Canada, where FSD usage might be rare, there haven't been any major accidents. These locations are along Vancouver-Blaine Hwy99 passing through Deas Slough Bridge entering and exiting the tunnel. If you want to view the video, I can send you.

I like the minimalist appearance, but there are many commands I wish the car could perform, but currently can't do. If there is something you can do in the car menu, you really should be able to "ask/command" it to do verbally.

      @@turbo2ltr HW3 was first released in 2019. Your best bet would be to ask Enhanced Auto directly from their website

    I wonder how much battery it actually drains with this since the light inside the storage compartment technically never turns off. This is otherwise a cool product and I wish there were ways to enable the features through my phone or something.

      I'd assume you'd never notice, that light has to be like what 1 watt? 😂

      The light inside the storage compartment is draining an insignificant amount of energy. You have to have it open for over 300 hours to lose about 1% of your SOC [based on our calculations] :)

    The bad thing about the s3xy knob is it’s not consistent with connectivity. It’s Bluetooth and slow or non responsive. I had this setup. Looks great but very “boomer” experience.

    I understand why tesla is no minimalist, but why they can't incorporate something like this? Hopefully it will be available when my reservation comes up for the cybertruck.

      Here's the install video from enhance th-cam.com/video/ifwJNZgykVI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FT9KRwaOaij8Aovs Nothing I can really add to it besides telling you it truly is easy. The video I took of myself installing it was 7 minutes long so it was legit a 5-minute install and I've never taken that stuff apart before

    Why cant they make this for the Model S or X? I mean they do call it the S3XY knob or button.

    "If you don't want buttons, don't buy the buttons"
    THIS, so much... I couldn't care less about what other people want to do with their car, or how it was "designed to be". I make things fit me and my preferences, and I fully expect and allow others to do that too. How anyone could complain about what somebody else does with their own stuff that doesn't affect that person in any way is honestly mindboggling.

      Yeah it's really weird the amount of complaints I hear about an optional accessory or even a vehicle that people don't have to buy it they don't want it 👀

    I personally think the knob is a little on the nose. It takes away from the buttonless interior of tesla. It doesn’t look bad this is just my opinion. Now if you hide the sexy buttons under the screen I feel like that is peak control. There are still buttons to click however they are hidden so most people won’t see them or know they are there.

  • @WhiteWi
    @WhiteWi 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Talking about preferences and what people used to. I don’t need stupid knobs and I love Tesla minimalist approach. But everyone is different and that is why products like this will do well, until they fck up car and Tesla won’t warranty repair it bc of it. Keep in mind the risks of aftermarket parts and upgrades.
