Love the exterior and the floor plan. Need to keep the same flooring throughout for continuity. Shiplap on the ceiling would be really good, especially in the living room to make it more cozy ❤
This is the perfact home, to me all your designs are perfact and difficult to critique. The blueprint is here and can be changed to the way the individual would like it. Wunderful job, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing 🤗
Beautiful home inside and out. Good size for retired person, how ever I would need a much bigger dinning area so I could have children and grandchildren over. Maybe extend the dining area to meet up with the front and put the patio door there. Remove patio door in living room and center fireplace to make better use of living space.
add an old-fashioned Breezeway (14 x18) off the living room (from the sliding glass door) with a garage (12x20). The sun-filled room makes a great dining room for large gatherings.
Garages can be purchased from home improvement stores, or custom built, and added at any time. At least here in North America, windows and doors are commonly built in factories and delivered, already in frames and ready to be installed. These firms have catalogs with many stock designs, and some also will do custom work (at additional cost). There would be no problem (at least here) getting whatever you want!
Very nice! Where I live, a screened porch is necessary if you want to actually use it for at least 10 months out of the year. That would be easy to do. The only thing I might change with the floor plan is to move the master bath toward the front of the house a bit, use a single door in the living room and add more closet space for the master bedroom.
I think it’s odd that you would have to run your food for the BBQ through the living area and out the front porch to get to the out door dining area. Missed an opportunity to extend the side porch to the bay window and add a door where the first angled window is. Don’t care for a tub in the Master bath. Prefer a nice big walk in shower. And someone is definitely in love with the brick look. Would also be nice to see behind ALL the closed doors.
I loved this house! I donde know how to put it in English, the fluency I liked that you dont need to cross all the house to get to the kitchen or to the bedrooms área. Besides the details are pretty. The bow window in the dining is beautiful. And the outside is gorgeous. It may gain in looks with a bit more detail in ornaments and furniture, that's right, but it doesn't take from the general layout. It's beautiful, classic with modern touches.
A door to go outside from the kitchen. It could go to the side porch. Important to take out garbage not passing through other áreas of the house.
My one issue with the plan is needing to walk through the kitchen to get to the dining room. I'd want to reverse those two rooms. Other than that, it's just details, like the out of control fire and the bathtub that does not work well with a shower. The floor plan at the end has transposed the labels for the pantry and the storage closet.
I agree with you. Also, the door for the pantry opens on the opposite side of the kitchen, which is really weird. You'd need to get out of the kitchen and aim for the bedroom when you need to access the pantry!
This would make a super cute AirB&B house, but could never work as a home. The Primary suite has only a single closet?!?! Not in my world it doesn’t and I am willing to bet that just about every couple will tell you the same. This one needs to go back to the drawing board, I’m afraid to get those closets sorted out. A couple of other things that I would definitely do is extend the side deck back, expanding the space. A French door set could then be put in the bay in the dining room to give access from the kitchen to the grilling deck. On the right side of the stairs, I would enclose everything to the right of the staircase. That would give you a “cold lock” from the outside weather and the living room. If possible, that’s where the closet should open into.
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! Adding a second closet to the primary suite is a must for practicality, and your ideas to extend the side deck and add French doors for better kitchen-to-deck access are fantastic for enhancing functionality. Enclosing the area near the staircase for a "cold lock" is a smart solution for improving comfort and storage while maintaining a cohesive flow. These adjustments would definitely elevate the design!
@ I wanted to jot a quick thank you to you. Some home designers, like yourself, actually DO appreciate constructive criticism. I never want to be rude, but will be honest about things that just don’t look or feel right. Retirées are thoughtful about how they spend their money and although we are a few years from it, we have some solid ideas. After living in several homes over our lifetime, we know that we do not want a 1950’s box filled with smaller boxes. We want the public space to be one great room, preferably with vaulted ceilings. We want energy efficiency, but not at the expense of natural light. We are currently living in the Canadian Arctic in a home with quad-panes windows that the previous owner installed, and holy cow are they awesome!! Even when the temperature outside is in the -60’sC, our inside pane is cool, but NEVER cold. We don’t need huge bedrooms, but want a walk-in closet in the master/primary suite to keep things organized and clutter free. Our guest room or rooms - we can’t decide between two and three bedrooms - only need room for a bed, two nightstands, and a writing desk. The closets will all have systems with drawers and shelves to accommodate visitor’s belongings. We are basically going back 100 years or so where bedrooms were small and space was left for the public spaces. LOL!
The 1st bedroom is missing bedside tables, artwork, and a t.v. it's pretty blah. Did I blink and miss the closet for the 2nd bedroom??? Lovely home otherwise
Love the layout . Not a big fan of wallpaper . I've been in construction ever since I got out high school . Sooner or later wallpaper will have come off and its a pain .

I would want a attached two car garage as well as a covered porch on the end , love the colors would want windows without the cross panels
Noted.
It amazes me how people want attached garages ruining the look of homes

Hey, Andysuber, your point to increase the area of master bedroom by moving the bathroom is sounds good.

Great points on the porch, shower preference, brick style, and seeing behind closed doors-will keep that in mind!"
Nice home but I want a 3 BR, 2-2.5 bath, open concept home.

Hey Lorinstuart, i am with you on the issue on wallpaper. It can be hassle, especially when it come off and it's definitely a pain to deal with it.
Not with the new peel and stick it isn't. A bit trickier to apply, but way easier to remove.
The exterior is beautiful and beachy cottage look however the interior is a great disappointment
Thanks for your feedback Leithashowers.
