Simply fantastic. The Deceleration is wonderful. Just as you would expect from an Ecodisc NMX or Schindler M. I have experienced the only real high-speed journeys so far in a coal mine and potash mine (18 m / s)

I just realized all lifts accelerate at 0.6 m/s^2 and the high speed ones at Taipei 101 achieve 1010 m/min in 17 seconds also by over clocking to 1m/s^2

Beno, I have a suggestion. You should check out the Royal Lancaster Hotel in Bayswater. They have a nice Mid-Rise Mitsubishi lift that goes 18 floors up. They used to be Otis.

First I heard "overclocking" for electric motors. We usually uses that term for central processing units.
However, we in Indonesia sometimes also "overclocking" internal combustion engines (usually diesel ones since it easier to overclock as compared with petrol engines).
Also the overclocked Schindlers are too fast for a geared traction motors!

Be careful upping the speed like that, even if the motor can safely do it. The shaft top & bottom overrun space may not be sufficient for higher speed. I.e. the physical vertical space between the limit switches and the building structure. A shaft designed for 1.0 m/s, for example, may be unsafe at 1.6 m/s with worst case car loading and minimum brake performance.
That's not intended to be judgemental or scolding, just informative. Be safe is my primary message.

I didn't increase the speed. There is a thing called a governor that stops you.
m/s/s is a measurement of acceleration

I don't have permission and have no intention of getting permission. It is not illegal to do something without permission (depending on what it is. In this its trespass, which is not a crime)

they cant leave them overclocked because they didn't have permission to make alterations to the lifts settings

ElevatorStars - if you don’t have permission to make alterations have to restore it because the owner of the building hasn’t given permission for it to be left like that. Lift surfing and changing settings are 2 different things. With lift surfing you are not changing how the lift works, but if you change the setting you are.

Yes and ben also many times did lift reprogramming of the voice and stuff to very funny stuff, so they DID say they always changed it back to its orignal settings after messing with it

confidence. if you are confident people will think you are meant to be there, you cant worry at all because people will instantly know you shouldn't be there, and there is no point worrying about getting in trouble because the only thing they can do is ask you to leave.
