They gave us so much in this update but it made me sad when they said “last major free update” cause I was really hoping for an Able’s update where you can buy everything you want in the fitting room (like all colors of a certain dress) instead of having to keep going back for another color. 🙄
I think they are still going to do smaller updates just not that much at a time

last free /major/ update. we are still gonna get updates, and probably more DLC :)
We could still get some bigger updates, to their shop, Nooks, and other stuff but it's likely going to be paid DLC. They didn't say this would be the ONLY paid DLC. And that's fine. We shouldn't at this point, expect them to keep creating tons of super awesome stuff constantly for the game for literally free. People need to be ok with supporting games that they want to span a timeframe of a few years. I am curious to see what they will throw out down the line. I'm guessing we'll get smaller free stuff here and there and that maybe sometime in the middle, or maybe fall of next year get a bigger paid update with bigger stuff. (Although they could shock me and do it earlier next year, like maybe spring/early summer but I'm ok if they don't. This update and DLC has given us enough to literally occupy ourselves for at LEAST another 1000+ hours.)

I remember watching that direct and feeling like they went so far past the point of above and beyond that I couldn’t even remember everything they put in it off the top of my head. I had to make a note on my phone of everything included in the update and everything included in the DLC, and the free update segment alone filled my whole screen and more. They’re bringing ELEVEN characters to the forefront, five of which we’ve never seen before in New Horizons, adding a truckload of quality-of-life updates, incorporating crops and cooking, and practically doubling our thousands of storage spaces available to name just a VERY few, and then they add a whole extra game in the DLC????? The sheer amount of content we have been given blows my little marble mind and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for the 5th after watching the trailer that ticked practically all my boxes and more. So glad you made this vid!
Edit: also, just take a gander at all the new nook mile redemption items they’re giving us- it fills the screen multiple times. WHAT THE FUCK

It’s a bit overwhelming. Like, Nintendo didn’t have to give us all this at one time.. but they did. Two new villagers I really want. I wish they gave us more island space for more villagers. I wonder if this is the last major update they’ll ever give us.

I’m sure there’s gonna be a few more minor updates (as well as maybe some more paid DLC), but overall, this is the last time we’re getting an update in New Horizons that’s as big a deal as this one for free, which is honestly fine by me.
On my reddit I said the exact words 2 days ago "It's like waking up and -(it's sadly all a dream)- IT'S NOT A DREAM." and it's like the sims lol...
Y'know...Goose could live in one of those vacation homes...and have it be a *permanent* vacation while some new friends join the island I'm just sayin' 👉👈

I am now contemplating starting my island over just to experience everything from the beginning on 11/5. I am SO EXCITED.
I feel like I am the only one excited to use the Able sisters designs on the walls and clothes- lol. She has some nice designs that will be great for the accent wall feature!
No I was wondering how that is totally going to work. I think, if you can literally take any custom designs (even the ones that aren't Sables, but the ones you get in the console for your island) and use them for walls and flooring, that is going to add such a level of potential creativity! It's awesome because with all this, we are going to see so much more diversity on people islands and in their homes. People make amazing stuff now, but with limited furniture, plants, etc to a degree after a while it all has a similar look and feel. Now everything's going to be so unique it's going to be so fun seeing new island tour videos and tutorials!!!

Such a fun video! I think we need to keep the timing in perspective. It takes a long time to develop a video game. The whole world shut down the same month 1.0 of this game released. We’ve been in a massive worldwide pandemic ever since then. It has slowed things down and turned much of our world upside down.

Hi Amanda! I just wanted to let you know that several of the "new" villagers are actually from animal crossing: population growing(gamecube)/animal forest e+. Some of them are new. These are not even all the cards as there will be 48 in total. My guess is most will be returned gamecube villagers. These are the ones who returned from the grave thus far:
