    Excellent video! I moved to the little & 54 area from palm harbor in 2020 and absolutely love it. I think NPR gets the bad wrap because most people are very aware of holiday. I grew up in palm harbor and all I knew of Pasco was holiday. The traffic is very reasonable if you stay east of 19 and starkey is amazing

    My mom move me to New Port Richey when I was about five years old. Until I graduated high school and went in the military. We lived about six blocks south of downtown. Downtown was nice back then (mid 80s) but the revitalization it has undergone in the last couple decades has been amazing. In the mid/late 80s the Little Rd and Trinity sprawl basically didn’t exist. A lot of orange groves and pastures. Now people from Trinity announce themselves with the same smugness as Hampton elitists. It’s funny!

    There is nothing special about New Port Richey .. everywhere you go you see nothing but homeless people and drug addicts you see people sleeping all on the side of the road in the woods behind all these buildings it's really sad... you would think with all the money that this state makes they would try to help some of these people and clean up all this mess..

    • @SameerMalik-es5ij
      @SameerMalik-es5ij ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been in new port richey and for several days and maybe saw 1-2 homeless people.
      I live in nyc and I see hundreds of homeless everyday.
      There isn’t a comparison, there’s a reason why so many people are fleeing the north and going to states like Florida. Florida is properly ran, you are getting a reduction on tolls in Florida. That’s unheard of in the north. In nyc everything just keeps going up and the middle class keeps getting pushed out

    Good news - renovations are finally done on the Hacienda! It's now open and just GORGEOUS inside! Whenever possible, original fixtures and masonry was retained, and all new elements are chosen to match the vintage styling of the original! We live just a few miles away, so we have not had occasion to stay at the hotel, however we have had breakfast several times at the on-site restaurant "Sasha's", and all items on the menu are delicious & reasonably priced. (Try a "Pink Palmer" - that's an Arnold Palmer, made with pink lemonade - my own concoction & delicious, if I do say so myself!)
    As for downtown, the New Port Richey Chamber of Commerce, along with several investors have dumped MILLIONS of dollars into renovating the entire downtown area! Fresh new storefronts & businesses, along with a complete makeover of Simms Park, create an all-new experience while still maintaining an authentic "Old Florida" feel!
    My wife & I moved from upstate NY down to New Port Richey around 20 years ago, and we just INSTANTLY felt "at home"! Since then, it's only gotten better & our adopted hometown's future looks brighter than ever!
