MAybe learn something from the Dutch? They had scale models of Rivers and Harbours from all around the world in the 60's and tested flow characteristics on scale... So everything... flow rate.. pebles etc etc. even tide and waves. The biggest model was a 1:75 600 meter long model from the Rotterdam port. Maybe you can grind black sand in a ball mill to get it real fine. Ofcourse this model tells a lot already... It shows the principals.

Shane, how do you think slim would react to you! I bet Jeff and slim could get a lot of laughs messing with you!
I was wondering how the gold would react when say the river comes to a dam area. It's a instant low pressure some when it runs into the back up but how will it drop out because the water flows out alot smaller hole higher up.

The visual aide to reference and correspond to the scientific theory’s of how hydrodynamic forces should make “the heavy’s” matriculate in that system is why you are the man! Let’s gooo! I do a lot of arrowhead hunting in the Midwest and the deposition of artifacts in relation to the water forces at hand is something that I’ve been acutely invested in for the last almost 40 years. Knowing how to read a creeks topography along with the influence of a confluence of water, or a big sandbar, etc… is what sets apart the men from the boys 🤙🏼

I recently found my biggest nugget in my home country Austria because I was studying this great video ... over and over again.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart that I can learn so much from your knowledge. Here we say ... "Glück auf" -
That means in Miners language - Good Luck and get home safely.

After seeing a lot of deposits in standing water once you cut the flow I now understand why my bud taught me to read rivers in the hydraulic ditches after they closed them off for winter but before water pools dried up as well as showing me down at the river where there's still a good bit of flow to visualize the fluid dynamics in person.

Very informative and good instruction. It would of been nice to fan the camera out as well so you can see the river and obstructions and what not as a further idea of where the gold lays. Great vid tho Jeff

I never really thought about it but I'm thinking that places to look needs to be adjusted according to the snow levels of the previous winter.

Awesome Jeff! I'm going to go buy a bunch of plywood and epoxy. Get a Lidar scan of my creek, build the model, dump some sand and gold painted lead in it, get a backhoe and put some boulders in my creek.........nah. You just taught me 4 years of hydro-dynamics in 22 minutes! Thanks man!
