Haydn is the father of the symphony. His music is amazing in harmony, grace and elegance. Viva Haydn a true genius of music that gives us unforgettable moments of pleasure and haunting music. Bravissimo
LDC
Mozart was so impressed he indirectly quotes some material from the first movement of this is amazing symphony into his opera Don Giovanni..truly amazing ..it's that little run on the flute..
He also used the same motiv in the first developing section of the rondo-allegretto from the violin sonata in b flat major KV. 454: th-cam.com/video/nJeLAxROs6k/w-d-xo.html at the 1:22 mark and then in its repetition before the coda.
The slow movement is not just pretty but a tender reflection on what it is like to be a human being. Yet, without a nickname this Symphony remains largely unknown even 40 years after Hogwood`s performance.
A very fine and relatively little-known symphony, in which Haydn is clearly anticipating the sound-world of his late masterpieces. The second episode in the delicious finale directly anticipates the final movement of the Military Symphony (no. 101). (And well done Hogwood for knowing what "Prestissimo" means.)
I think many conductors miss the virtuoso nature of Haydn's music. Speeds of quick movements should generally be as fast as the music can take. Hogwood shows here how brilliant that sounds - and it is off the seat exciting

Haydn Symphony 100 ‘Military’.
Haydn Symphony 101 ‘Clock’.
The second horn part calls for a crazy amount of low pitch-bending! This is so cool to hear :D
Haydn, brilliant in this works and very productive. The father of synfonies. Great cpmposer. (Brazil)
No such person as ‘father of the symphony’.
When Haydn wrote his first symphony in 1757, the symphony was already a late-teenager.

Unfortunately Google Translate has turned your reply into incomprehensible gobbledygook when rendered into English - I hope.
I often hum the opening bars of this piece when bored out of my mind shopping.
Das "Vivace" werd ich mir öfter anhören.
Thanks for uploading!
Wow, what a pretty slow movement. Was thinking "Beethovenian" but obviously it's the other way around.
23:43 Finale from Symphony 100
7:45 - 8:31
21:22 is jazz.
