I suggest she try the federal government for employment so she can get transferred anywhere around the country or even the world taking her medical/life insurance with her to practically any country. I hate to say this but it's reality because the "position title" you have has nothing to do with where you'll end up being and in what situation you'll be in when you retire. The best thing is to get a job with the federal government and invest in their plans. If the US government goes under that means every private business will too.

You seem to glorify tech. The tech market is brutal and "managers" will be the first to go in a lay off time. Also, how do you manage people when you do not have any skills in tech? I am an MLE and even I cannot get a job right now, despite having experience. The idea that tech jobs pay you 100k plus is also not realistic. Outside of FAANG, many jobs pay between 65-99k.

@@travelvideozI’m not sure what your background is but having worked in Tech I can tell you that it’s VERY possible to make 100k. And being a Customer Success Manager doesn’t mean you’re “managing” people and I would suggest looking up job descriptions and or career options mentioned outside of the experience or knowledge you have about the field. I know the Tech job market is brutal, but it’s still not impossible to build a career there and succeed. You might be devaluing yourself as well and not privy to what’s actually out there and possible. She has the experience as a Program Manager and could be a Project Manager, Product Manager, and a host of other options if she too could see the possibilities outside of focusing on just “passions” where she has to work 3 jobs to make that and only go with what she may only be aware of. Again, maybe it’s not working out for you but sis could be and should be making around 100k with her experience, and If not in Tech, there’s other fields where it’s VERY possible. You just gotta expand your horizons and open your mind. The problem isn’t that she’s solely making $65,000. It’s that it’s doing 3 jobs to get there when she shouldn’t have to AND has a Master’s degree. SHE’s QUALIFIED!!!

@@missdesireindependance5194 I get that it's a stable industry and one I've thought about as well. However, I don't even think it's so much the $65,000 with her living in Houston (which isn't bad) but her working 3 jobs in order to get there. If she was working 3 jobs and at 100k+, that's different. But I can't and will not wrap my mind around that being the only option IF her goal is to pay down debt and still sustain her lifestyle. She'd be better off making cuts in certain spending areas than burning herself to the ground. Plus, she's too qualified and regardless if she's "passionate" about her job, it shouldn't come at the expense of her quality of life. And Tech isn't so much the problem. I think people keep looking in the same places with tech jobs as if it's not a vast field. I'd avoid the FAANG companies but still look at plenty of other options and job roles that she can apply her skills set to. Seriously, she deserves sooo much more. That's all.

Everyone is commenting on this woman (she is gorgeous BTW) and I totally do agree that she needs to be earning six figures with her degree and her experience. I hope she'll see the comments and KNOW that she can go out in to the world and ask for more and receive it. Unfortunately she's grappling with what many Black women deal with - we have to be twice as good to get half as much. Black women are often saddled with student loan debt - because without the degrees (and often multiple degrees) we won't be even considered for the job. I work in a predominately white male "prestige" field and despite my years of experience, Masters degree and multiple credentials I've regularly encountered this phenomena. I totally understand and relate to what she is experiencing and pray this woman can find a six figure job that values her experience and work ethic

You willingly took them on and didn't choose careers with high ROIs in terms of compensation.

This may not apply to you, but it certainly applies to many others.

Her version of the American Dream is to be debt-free and "to live life" on her own terms. There is nothing wrong with what she is doing. I am proud of her ability to be satisfied with her life and she is not trying to be like the JONESES... Everybody's dreams are different. I like that she is happy with her life. It would be great if everyone was happy with their lives instead of hoping to be something else. If your dreams are different, more power to you. 1. stop retirement savings until you become debt-free.
    2. Instead of working 3 jobs find one job that pays you $75K. Delivery jobs don't make any money we all know that. Trust me I've been there and done that.
    2. Quit the gym membership entirely since you bicycle every day or go to a cheaper gym such as LA Fitness or Planet Fitness until you become debt-free. You can always go back to a lifetime if you love it that much. And this is coming from an all-natural DEBTFREE bodybuilder.

What logical person will go get a master and make $65k a year and with $100k debt? Like how’s that possible? She only needed a bachelor and it’s time we stop taking pride in getting master in things there is absolutely no usage or bring substantial income into your life.
