This EP is honestly one of the best i've come across since the early 2010s. There's so many layers, as I dive deeper into it I discover more. Your translation is well done, there's a lot of nuance that is hard to convey elegantly! A few comments: My image of the scenery for cinema paradiso is two people meeting at some midpoint or major station, rather than either of their "home" stations, the person singing being invited suddenly for "the talk", which they realized too late, and the song starting after they finished, went their separate ways for the last time, and the singer is on the train afterwards 1:48 "後ろ髪を引かれる" is a literary phrase that suggests feelings of regret, a difficulty in moving forward like something is literally "pulling at the back of your hair". So in this case I read it as "Your mannerisms and your voice are tugging at me, so much that I fear i'll turn back" or something like that 2:07 I interpreted the 2nd line of this part as more reflective of the internal panic rising in the singer さようなら あなたの姿が離れて 知らない駅 帰り道を忘れてしまいそう あんなに時間なら余ってた なのに 伝え切れたことなんて 何ひとつなかったなんて 私は知らなかった Farewell, your figure grows distant An unknown station, feeling as if i'll forget the way home I still had all that time left, but I couldn't think of anything Not a single thing I wanted to say I had no idea.
@@moushi-san Thanks so much for this comment! I definitely struggled with the 2nd line, mostly because it's a single long sentence and I wanted to keep the line-per-line translation format without exceeding in lenght. But yeah, I 100% agreee with you and I also think this is one of the grratest EP from the last few years. Thanks again! ♡
I love you shion

さようなら あなたの姿が離れて
知らない駅 帰り道を忘れてしまいそう
あんなに時間なら余ってた
