@@dacracking5768 You're right! Both are correct, you can say "Arigatô" (you have to pronounce the "ô" one bit longer) and "Arigatou" as some writes (here it's already explained and showing the "o" being pronounced a bit longer but adding "u" in the end not two "o" ) the meaning why is the "u" being add to it it's because it's written this way ありがとう (arigatou) there's an "u" in the end same as う. So, you can write the shortest version "arigatô" or "arigatou" but i think "arigatô" is more commonly used.
@@dacracking5768 This is probably really late but I think your confusing り with い, the first one is pronounced “ri” (ree) and the second is “i” (ee). If your still interested in learning Japanese I recommend Tofugu’s course online. You can tell the difference between these two syllables because い looks like two eels, while り looks like reeds blowing in the wind; hope this helps. And there is a う at the end of ありがとう。
This confused me so much because I tought かょ would be same as きょ It was never mentioned anywhere I looked up that you were only supossed to do this with sllybles with an i. Thanks so much.
Japanese truly is hard but the more I research I find out that it’s pretty simple the hardest part about Japanese is the pronunciation of pronounce even one syllable wrong it could change the whole meaning of the word and come off as rude
I’ve been teaching myself Japanese and I just came across this part of my lessons. I got it wrong a few times. Then I caught on to what was happening. Now I do want to know, WHY this is happening. Also why are there silent syllables. Why not just not have them in there?
I am sorry to say that your teaching off the small っ (tsu) is a little different then other learning platforms. At about 09:15 i thought u made up something. later u teach it right. I am going to investigate now about your silent syllable grammer haha!.
to help with the elongated "tsu" thing: lets take 12:45 i sho (my keyboard can't do hiragana sorry), instead of pronouncing is i-sho, think of it as ish-sho, so your brain automatically thinks if 'i' is shorter and 'sho' is longer
I have a little question for you, please, i am learning kana, and if there is a "chi" and a little "ya", it makes "cha" right? But if there is a "chi" and then a normal "ya" it makes chiya? Onegaishimass
I’m learning on my own and this is very useful, ありがとう
Same here, good luck!
Aigatou? You mean arigato? Or am I reading it wrong??

SDHCHP BPG Too add the silent syllable
