      +The Ben Heck Show I really think caution should be used when producing the 'luggage detective' episode since what it sounds like your describing could be used to detonate a bomb hidden in luggage (or a postal package) when the device detects the pressure change indicating the plane is in flight. Even if the possibility is miniscule it's best to be cautious.

      +ALitleBitSpecial Don't be ridiculous Special, people don't do that sort of thing only governments do, it's called false flags and propaganda, turn of that television propaganda it's effecting the way you think, like everyones out to get you when it's the ones who push that false narrative on the television who actually are always the ones responsible for any attacks against the people! Recognize the perpetrators, they aren't us it's them! Stick to YT and Ben and channels that actually try to show you something instead of trying to sell you a false narrative to manipulate your mind! Just a word of advice :)

    Pressure is the same in the luggage compartment and in the cabin of a plane, in fact there are big vents in between the 2 spaces, so if any explosive decompression would occur in the luggage compartment, difference of pressure would not make the cabin floor collapse (it happened in the past).

    • @JerryEricsson

      +Ast A. Moore UMMMM lunch box... Brings back memories of the little white one room school I attended in the first - third grades, no power or water, lamps for light wnen needed and an outdoor privi for those times of need. Opening those old lunch boxes was a treat, that smell was someting you never forget, the jelly sandwitch smell along with the apple, and that strange smell that came from the thermos in the top of the pail added just the right smell to make your mouth water.

    cool project. I'm an absolute beginner so really enjoy watching you puzzle out what is what. makes me feel a lot better about not knowing what component is what haha. would really love to see some more beginner tutorials for projects just using basic gear. I'm learning on arduino but the instructions in my kit were pretty rubbish so I'm just puzzling through with trial and error. we'll be trying to make a useless box over the next couple weeks.

    I'm pretty sure it was Geraldo who opened Al Capone's vault. Almost certain of it.
    Also, that Atrix thing you used... I am jealous. I have wanted one of those for ages. Why nobody makes a device like that now I have no idea, it would absolutely have a market to all the people who have a Raspberry Pi. And there are a few of those. Getting one of them on ebay is really expensive because so many people want one for various projects.

    First thing I thought when seeing this completed was that you should make a mini KVM switch and power distribution circuit so you could have multiple dev kits going at the same time. And perhaps an external serial port hub to use one dev kit to benchmark other dev kits.

    The micro USB next to the micro HDMI for docking the phone will power Raspberry Pis up through the B+ or the Pi Zero. My guess is that it supplies 750 mA or maybe 1A since it was intended to charge the phone. I haven't tried a Pi 2 or 3. It won't power an Odroid UX3 which draws over 1A for heavy processor loads. The Odroid will boot then draw too much current when it starts the GUI sag the supply voltage and reboot.

  • @tom611
    @tom611 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had no trouble powering a Pi B1 with Wifi and wireless mouse/keyboard adapters plugged in from the Lapdocks I have. I'm guessing that the USB port outputs more than 500MA to be able to work as a portable charger in addition to the laptop docking. It also powers a Raspberry Pi Zero just fine too, but that takes less power.

    It really does need some serious battery power. A lunch box is meant to be carried to somewhere you might not HAVE AC power. Shame you need 19V for the display.Might want to use the battery solution from the dock and replace the batteries themselves with bigger/better. Would ease the use of the LCD on battery power.

    I use a Motorola Atrix lapdock with my RPi3 all the time. Seems to work fine, and runs for hours.

  •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I used lapdock with many dev boards and usb powered all without any problem. Raspberry pi worked for about 6h on battery. For power hungry boards I just took power from internal hub. Only negative point with lapdock is that touchpad does not support 2 finger gestures / sliding. And lapdock does not need power button because it powers on when you open it. On mine I had both full size hdmi and usb. Unfortunately jhdmi on my lapdock broke and it is imposible to get spare parts.

    It's all nice and stuff, but didn't PiTop do this like 2 years before? Except they didn't model it after a lunch box, they modeled it after a laptop. There's a panel that slides off above the keyboard that reveals the electronics, complete with breadboards and compartments for loose components, all ready to go. Just like you wanted to do with the LuBDeK (Lunch Box Dev Kit).

    Minecraft Trivia Moment: In Creative Mode, you can dig through any and all materials, including the un-dig-able bedrock at the bottom of the world, which will cause you to fall through the bottom of the world. In Survival Mode, digging through bedrock is not possible in vanilla Minecraft.
