ngl, Maiden Heaven is pretty creative way to avoid copyright and at the same time be as close to original as possible, because this stand is very important for Jojo universe in general
they could've used "Maid in Heaven" but I guess it would've been too similar
the name itself also goes hard, Maiden Heaven sounds like a title for one of the angels

I won't hide: I really enjoy localization names, they range from extremely comedic to surprisingly good ways of avoiding copyright and staying faithful, and when they're silly, they're really funny.

Some of these localization are fairly clever truth be told.
For example, Nukesaku’s name in Japanese is derived from the word 抜作, which translates loosely as “jackass” or “idiot,” so calling him Loser in the dub is accurate.
Captain Tennille’s name is derived from the music duo Captain and Tennille, and Captain Dragon is derived from Daryl Dragon, one of the two members of Captain and Tennille.
i prefer the translation "nimrod" for nukesaku because it's not as in your face
TIL the Captain of The Captain and Tennille literally _was_ Captain Dragon. Neat.
My personal favorite is Shining Diamond, which I think still works as a reference to Pink Floyd, since the full title is "Shine on me crazy diamond"

Changing Stone Free to Stone Ocean didn't just completely miss the point, it flat out reversed the meaning of the name. Jolyne name her Stand "Stone Free" because it was her *freedom from* the Stone Ocean prison. What's even sillier is that the English localization *kept Jolyne's explanation* yet still called it "Stone Ocean" anyway.
And this is why I hate dubs, way too much change and nonsensical shit thrown around.

@@adinugroho9760 I believe it was because pretty much all the bands Araki names his stands after are from Western countries with few exceptions, so he pretty much has to change it since those names are from those countries naturally, especially since it's far more prone to legal action that way

To be fair, Terra Ventus, Misterioso, Netherworld, and Maiden Heaven, are pretty good. And Maiden Heaven got lucky with a name that not only matches but basically sounds exactly the same as its original name.
But Flacid Pancake... I can't come up with any words for consolation.

To be fair, Flaccid Pancake isn't used in the anime so I don't really think it counts.
In the English dub they changed it to limp viscuit, I was very disappointed I wanted to hear them shout flaccid pancake

Filthy actions at a reasonable price doesn't sound too bad neither, but because in our reality the stands have the names they have, any other sounds odd and funny to us
Maiden Heaven was actually a good idea. Reverb seems unnecessary. I don't think Pink Floyd would've cared if JoJo literally used the plural form of "echo". There's probably other people who used either word in their music, so I think it's not a big deal in comparison to using big Queen songs that have more distinctive names.
Emperor Crimson and Deadly Queen were straightforward, logical choices. In my opinion, they still suck because they don't sound nearly as cool. I think it's all in the alliteration. Combing the K sounds in Killer Queen and King Crimson makes it sound so appealingly edgy. You could've went with "Red King", but why do that when you can do KING CRIMSON. If I had to do the localized names, I would've chose something like "Killer King" and "Royal Red". Both are still terrible and will be made fun of, but I still think they still sound better.

Calling Imposter Tennille Captain Dragon is technically still a reference; it's just that it now only references Daryl Dragon himself instead of both him and Tennille (also learned from the last person to point this one out that Captain and Tennille are a husband and wife couple. Nice).

Honestly, there are some localized names that I think are much better than the original ones:
Mondata - actually sounds like a name
Highway Gogo - reminds me of the sound the feet make while pursuing an enemy
Reverb - Just sounds cooler
Chili Pepper - Literally the same name but actually sounds like a name
Terra Ventus - Sounds cooler
Misterioso - Sounds cooler
Six Bullets - because... they arent pistols????
Crush - Sounds more like a shark bite than clash, which sounds more like a headbutt
Stone Ocean - What does stone free even means?
Pale Snake - Sounds cooler
Jolyne explains herself that she calls it stone free to save herself from this ocean of stones (reffering to the prison) Besides I think enough stone ocean is called stone ocean, the part now the stand the first episode the opening jolyne's theme is literally called theme of stone ocean. I feel like I'll go crazy if I hear it one more time.
