He just does these videos for those people who are clueless about fighter aircraft and dog fighting wanting to know how realistic these kinds of movies and to point out what is false. If you're in a profession in which are also portrayed so unrealistically in movies that it's good for someone who actually does these professions can finally explain how things are really done is awesome. The thing about films made outside the US and UK is that they don't have the multi-million dollar production budget,nor get help from the military to help make these movies, nor have decades of experience in writing action packed movies so a movie made in Pakistan is going to be heavily exaggerated and unrealistic. Don't think I'm bashing on Pakistan because the US use to make outrageous action movies like the Top Gun which is extremely unrealistic but thats what makes it enjoyable.

Zoltán Benesch eh you can still glide it, they are all at high altitude so the higher you are the more speed you can gain, the jf-17 that was hit by the mountains is screwed because that’s almost an instant crash, the mirage has a chance due to the altitude he’s hanging around at.

Actually, the move where the JF-17s fly past each other to lure the missile into the Mirage is sort of a take from the "chicken" maneuver from Pearl Harbor.

Actually, almost identical to the HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER when the Dallas submarine intercepted a torpedo meant for the Russian Red October sub...and then proceeded to lead the torpedo into the attacking Russian Konovalov submarine.
Both of those planes would have been toast as Fox 2s in IAF use proximity fuses with fragmentation warhead.
This is what happens when film directors try to search for "fighter planes cinematics" and Ace Combat is the first result they see. Hadn't seen this one before but I got a pretty good laugh when the missiles chasing the plane around. Truly Ace Combat style.
I thought Ace Combat would have better scenes than this movie clip.

The cgi is great nonetheless. Aesthetically, this movie is pretty good. But the combat scene is just hilariously unrealistic.

The missiles fired by the Mirages is the French MICA, which is their equivalent to the AIM-9, which can, depending on type, track by IR or radar, although the seeker head in the movie looks like the IR one. The most interesting thing is, that so many movies not only have missiles flying maneuvers that they couldn't or wouldn't do in real life. Add to that, that their motors are burning all the way in so many movies, instead of the initial boost phase, after which they are out of fuel.
I doubt the MICA can fly subsonic like these missiles did. It's suppose to fly Mach 4.
@@orlock20 Which is another fantasy of the movie makers. The only time any AA missile flies subsonic is once they run out of energy, which only happens long after they've burned out their motor.
Anyway, the CGI model shown is that of a MICA-IR, so at least they got a missile that is carried by the Mirage right.

Le Chevalier du Ceil (the French movie, I presume) had stunning footage of which very little of it was CGI. And unlike Topgun, it actually had a plot. The problem was the plot was moronic... REALLY moronic. But definitely worth reviewing the air combat and other stuff in it.

@snipe69 India operates Mirage 2000-5 MK2, other western fighters in inventory are Rafale and Jaguars.(Rest of fleet is Russian (SU30MKI, Mig29UPG, Mig21 Bison) and Indian(LCA Tejas).
Before that Indian Navy also operated Sea Harriers for quite a long time now replaced with MiG29K

Friends this is @Nomaan Khan writer and producer of Sherdil. The essence of Movie is friendship between two ace pilots of India & Pakistan. In no scene I have degraded Indian Pilot Flt Lt Arun Verani. My Prime Minister Imran Khan Said if India will take one step of friendship we will take 10 steps. I have tried to do justice with both characters Flt Lt Haris & Arun.
Soldiers do not fight what they have in-front but what they have in motherland. I have paid a tribute to all soldiers of India & Pakistan.

I like how the Mirage closed into gun range while also shooting missiles while also flying in formation. Also they opposing fighters know each other's comms frequency but use it to trash talk each other but not jam enemy comms.
Also the AWAC crew, which wouldn't be shown here because they would be too far away, was either asleep or shot down because they let several non stealth aircraft just slip by.

The French one is "Chevaliers du Ciel." It's cheesy, but it's some legit b-movie action Mirage 2000 fun. And the stunt flying by the French Air Force is awesome. Dassault even made a custom camera pod from a fuel tank for the camera ships.
The important thing to remember is that JF-17 downed Indian Air Force upgraded MiG-21 "Flying Coffin" and SU-30 "Pride of IAF". We even fed Abhilunddone tea. It was fantastic

This is the worst Bollywood script ever and it is literally what Indian Air Chief claims while everyone laughs at him. When they are doing the flyby across each other, the brain and eyes records in 960FPS just to be able to see each other.... Cmon! in that fly speed everything is a blink!

When Sir Junaid said he was friends with the sky or whatever, when he turned to dive back down, his plane did a 180. Seems legit and definitely not CGI.

According to the JF-17 as depicted in DCS, yes, you use the pickle button to fire it. The switchology to get it to work is also rather involved compared to american fighters. Mostly because it's the MiG-21's POS gun and even they consider it a weapon of last resort via their own SOP.

You should definitely do a review of Sky fighters a french top gun film from 2005 produced by Dassault Aviation and the French air force.
Original French title is "Les chevaliers du ciel". You are definitely gonna like the dogfights there with almost no CGI. Everything was shot with IMAX cameras in a Mirage fuel tank and a learjet chase plane.

can the Mirage 2000C carry MICA missles? I thought only the upgraded Mirage 2000-5 can. And can radar guided missles be confused by dumping the fuel tanks? I thought only IR homing missles be like that, I'm very confused about the first Indian missle that is it radar guided or IR guided
Loved how you said "I was waiting to say this until we got in formation" Hahaha. So, in my opinion, a movie needs to be realistic. Cheesy comments are annoying and unprofessional. I am sure the Air Force does not allow unnecessary talk in a combat aircraft (heck not even in a commercial plane). This scene was the biggest turn off for me, for not watching it, even though I am from Pakistan. Movie experience should be enhanced ONLY with visuals, not through drama and cheesy dialogue
