Hi i have an insignia 2.0cdti when i change gear it's making a strange turbo fluttering sound , it sounds like tutututu. Also i have some lag when i put my foot down and now and again it goes into limp mode that gives me an overboost code, could it be this that you just changed ?
That definitely sounds like over-boost problem, so most likely it's the boost control solenoid, which on my Astra sits right at the front of the engine bay so easily accessible. I remember hearing that they have a new part number which fixed one of the previous issues in with the early solenoids. For reference, that 'tutututu' sound is the boost escaping back through your turbo compressor when you let off the accelerator, and it's really not good for the turbo. So unless you want to spent the £300-500 on a new turbo I'd quickly spend the £30 to £50 on the control valve.
