I know a lot of people trash talk Invicta, but I have a 9937OB Pro diver with the Swiss Sellita-200 movement, and I absolutely love it! I'd like to have one of these Steeldive homages, but the NH35A movement requires a thicker/taller case and is just a shade too much for those of us with smaller wrists to wear comfortably.
the build quality of the no date "marine" comex homage is incredible for 100 dollars. Sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel are bombproof and dont have a single scratch after a year of wearing it daily. Movement is quite accurate and the power reserve is more than adequate. lastly the click of the bezel is IDENTICAL to the rolex subs i have played with in sound and feel, very very high quality click spring! Throw it on a nato or dress it up with a metal jubilee bracelet. its the perfect beater watch.
I have the Steeldive submariner version with the date and cyclops. I did change the clasp to a solid milled scissor style. I absolutely agree these watches are fantastic for the money. I got mine from the Steeldive site for $99.00 USD.
I have the San Martin SN004G with the NH35 inside running at +4 to 5 seconds a day out of the box. Its my work watch so it gets alot of time on the wrist, and I absolutely love it. Its the first microbrand watch i ever owned. I usually only go for Seiko, Timex, And Casio. The holy trinity lol.
Pitty there is not much of the watch itself in the video, and when it does - then without much of a detail. Also the important stuff being mentioned seems lost in the huge amount of the rest...
I've found Steeldive to have struck an acceptable compromise between cost and value. While you've expressed a desire for Steeldive to increase their prestige by using higher cost components I don't believe the incremental increase in value would offset the greater price they would need to charge. I don't want or need prestige or luxury and frankly, I know what brands to seek out if I begin to feel such an alien urge. Let's just allow Steeldive to continue making good dependable affordable tool watches for the masses.
Hello. Thank you for your review. I agree 100% with you. It’s a great watch for the money. I have a Steeldive 1970 ‘Willard’, whichI regulated myself, and now only gains around 2 seconds a day. The Submariner homage like you have there, has to be one of the best watches on the market for looks, accuracy and general ‘usefulness’. I’ll get one, when the time is right. ( see what I did there?). All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
i threw it on a tan nato and it is PERFECT. had it on a replica jubilee for a while as well and didnt mind it one bit. its a very versatile watch for straps.
The two things I wish more brands would work on in the future especially for vintage style releases on sub inspired watches, decrease the thickness to sub 13mm (12.5-12.8) and go back to aluminum bezel inserts. I understand ceramic has become cheap and available now but it often undercuts the vintage feel. This one is a nice bit of kit for sub 120 though.
The accuracy is well within standards of an automatic watch especially mass produced movement in a Chinese watch. Want precision? Get a quartz movement.
I have a more recent version of this watch with a 4:30 date window and over sized indices with triangular shapes at 3,6 and 9 and no Comex like face detail. Mine, when worn daily, is one second a day fast. It destroys every homage on the market in terms of face and bezel lume, including the Rolex. The only measurable advantage of a Rolex submariner movement is its 70 hour power reserve and its a high beat movement. The bracelet on the Steeldive lacks a milled clasp but its easily replaceable. Rolex end links fit the watch case with much tighter tolerances but for 100 times the price of the Steeldive, the Submariner is grossly overhyped and overpriced and is a A1 theft target.
couldnt agree more. ive been daily wearing my steeldive "comex" for the last year and it still looks brand new. crystal, case and bezel are absolutely bombproof. its really the perfect beater watch if you are a stickler for scratches like myself. movement is great as well, keeps quite accurate time for a non quartz watch.
So many people don't get the logo. I got it right off the bat. But I also dive so maybe thats the reason I got it. But some people think it looks like a duck and other things. But I think I can see the confusion for some. Nice review though.
@@watchlife_reviews yup indeed it is! A dive mask some flippers and tanks lol. But it is pretty mashed up. I think some dive knives crossed would be awesome with S.D. in the middle or something other then the gear.
Hey Man, I totally agree with everything you say about this watch. I got the blusey on 9.1.2022. Great sunburst effect on the blue dial. Matching the amazing lume is also great. I removed the bracelet immediately after I unboxed it and put a matching blue silicone band on it. Looks like a $10k watch. I have some other homage subs and this beats them all by far. The NH35 is reliable, cheap, and accurate and all this really needs. I can't wait to swim with it and beat it up and see how it does. 300m WR. I could beat up 100 of these watches before I got close to the price of a Roly. The size is perfect for me. I have a small wrist, and this doesn't wear like a 41 at all, more like a 39. I think it's the short lug to lug and changing out the awful bracelet that makes it work.
As much as I like steeldive homage watches, I prefer San Martin as to me it’s much better overall finish and presentation. For example take san Martin model SN036 with black bezel and blue dial it’s 300m water resistant with helium valve (not like you’ll never use it) and for only 200$ it’s a steal.
Very pretty your face and all, but I prefer to see the watch. Of the 16 minutes (or more) that the video lasts, the images of the clock itself do not reach 2 minutes. It's useless to make a relatively long video about a watch, if you don't show the watch. Also you can't stretch your arm enough to do a "close up" at minute 15:32 and even so the camera is still a yard away. And lastly, I congratulate you, I can see that you read very well from whatever you have on the table in front of the camera (min 1:49 to 6:10) when you are speaking about specifications. All of the previous "things to improve" described above are solved simply by knowing exactly what you are talking about, handling the camera propperly (in font an behind of it) and editing. Good luck!
Definitely the steel dive it’s a better quality watch here are the specs Model: SD1954 Movement: Japan NH35 automatic, 41 hours of energy storage. Case material: 316L stainless steel Case back: 31 6L stainless steel Bezel:120 Click unidirect rotational ceramic bezel Watch mirror: sapphire crystal with AR coating. Water resistance: 200 m / 20 ATM Luminous: Swiss BGW9 blue super-luminous. Crown: Screw-Down Case back: Screwback Case
I have this but the Milsub version with the full lume, sword hour hand bezel with minutes all round. It's accurate to 5 seconds a day. The head is fantastic. I changed the bracelet for a miltat bracelet and it's amazing. Stop saying that they should charge £500. There are other companies doing that. Buy them. Steel dive is for people like me who want what they make now.Your attitude sucks.

Give Deepblue a try also. I have the military 300 and it is awesome for 199!
My choice is Casio, Seiko and Citizen 😂
I have a Steeldive 1953 and it’s awesome it runs at 1.3 sec a day I also took it diving.

Why does it says 200m water resistant but in the website they promote it as 300mm in pictures and in the description??, its confusing
The version-2 (2022+) is now 300m, as shown on the new dial..
Very nice review, will pick up one next sale

Any spring bars you recommend purchasing, brand, site?
Any aftermarket recommendations to replace the bracelet?
Bracelets I put it on a Pagani design oyster style bracelet and it fits perfect
Black and grey NATO strap.
i threw it on a tan nato and it is PERFECT. had it on a replica jubilee for a while as well and didnt mind it one bit. its a very versatile watch for straps.
20mm carlywet bracelet, is exactly the same as rolex gliding lock and clasp

Excelente estilo!!! Love your style of reviewing!! Keep the good work!!
Agree a 100%!!

I agree
Now. People love ceramic bezels. Just buy an aluminum bezel and replace the ceramic one.
Nice one! I’ve heard good things about this brand, might have to get one at some point. Good review!
I got this one and the steeldive Hulk and pagani I can tell you now the steeldive takes it all day long

I hope Jody from Just One More Watch gets around to reviewing these watches. I have emailed him about these Steeldive's
Great review
Which one do you prefer between 1954 and 1964
I do like the Name Steeldive...sounds tough!!
1954
@ Watch Review Man are you The Ice Box from Boca Raton, FLORIDA ?

Thanks for the review. I like this watch. I'll out it on the list. Subscribed.
Ty so much for the support. I promised more quality content to come.

YOU DO MAKIWARA BRO???
The beat is 21600 per hour, not per minut.

Steeldive calibrates these movements to +/- 2sec/day now. Seiko does t even do that on most of their watches.
How can you not understand the logo? It's flippers , tanks and a mask.
Thats what it looks like to me now, but gotta admit its hard to understand at first.
Great review..Very well presented...Liked and subscribe..

Is the Che Guevarra? Talking steel dive watch?
It's the SD 1953. Not 54

I prefer invicta to all of those others.
Como pueden decir q prefieren invicta si este reloj es mucho mas comoleto cristal de safiro bisel sersmica y es mucho mas salida su construcción
Got condensation in mine when exercising so returned for refund, lost faith in them at that point shame as I really liked it otherwise
Crown issue problems. Pass
How about more close ups of the watch instead of you.
All my new videos are like that now. Purely watch close ups.
Theres a bliger watch submariner with PT5000 movement and its only 100 dollars
Lug with? Lug with what? Fries? A salad? It’s “width” not “with”.
YOU SUCK AT REFERENCES BRO, IS A 5514 COMEX SUBMARINER, FROM THE 70S
A watch review without showing the watch.
Lame bro - lame.
I really appreciate the feedback I’ve been on the working on getting back on the scene taking all this feedback and rebranding the channel.
