Don't forget 2+ inches extended rear shocks are also recommended. The SZ forks are only found and only work on AWD Territory's. Lifting a territory gives positive camber on the rear wheels. Any lift above 30mm you run out of factory adjustment. Glad you are happy with all the part's. Will be cool as when it’s all done.
You just gained a subscriber mate. You should have heaps more. This is quality content. Anyways. I’ve recently gotten my hands on a 2007 SY territory. It was the most immaculate one I could find. From a distance it looks brand new. Anyways 300,000kms, it’s towed a caravan at some point, been on the beach before and has 300,000kms. But I have just realised that al the suspension stuff needs replacing. I am thinking about lifting it as well and doing some light 4wding before I can upgrade to a late model navara or triton next year.
cheers for the support mate! honestly give the Territory a lift and give it a go on the tracks, you'll be astonished how far the old girl can go before needing something more heavy duty.
@@alwaysAWD have you ever had any issues with the ball joints though? That scares me. I’ve heard horror stories about it. Took it to the 4x4 show today and she loved the mud in the car park. But speed bumps and stuff scare me at the moment due to the clunkiest of the bushings. It seems like every single bushing is bad haha
nah mate just keep ontop of them - my Ultimate Build video dives into some of the upper ball joint stuff too when running 2"+ lift. I run the older style lower ball joint and just replace it every year as preventative maintenance. You can upgrade to SY2 suspension in the front to permanently fix the issue as well, Territory Offroad does a great tutorial on this too - I'd suggest saving for that in the long run
In my case with my RWD territory I’ll probably have to get spacers to get that 1-2 inch lift in my front end as my shocks are not built with forks, but it won’t be lifted at this moment due to work and family commitments and I have to replace the parts that needed to be replaced, will be lifted in the future so that I can take it off-road here in Gippsland on the rated easy tracks
i'd suggest getting some all terrains to help with traction first 🤙 then yeah maybe a small 1" spacer for struts. just note the RWD will still ultimately limit what you can do, but added traction and a small 1" or so will maximise the vehicle capabilities 💪
@@alwaysAWD that’s first on my to do list anyway after I replace the most needed parts that need to be done because where I live it rains a lot and my backyard dirt is like standing on flour in a bowl and during wet weather it’s turns to a mud pool and the all terrains will help especially if I need to drive my car into the backyard the last time I drove it into the backyard the car has its original highway when and it got bogged, as for driving off road I’ll only be taking them on the rated easy tracks only, having it lifted may be easier just in case I need to get under the car for any mechanical checks, services or emergencies

^ exactly as said - cheers for the clarifications mate!
Keen to see this thing getting better and better each episode!
Great tips, thanks man,
What a difference! Looks a thousand times tougher as well - keep it brother!
The Canyonero will finally be able to Cross Canyons !
Great Vid and cannot wait to see the results !
Don’t forget to get extended brake lines as well with all that lift you will be pushing the old lines.
Yep I'm running extended brake lines too - however in a pinch, you can unhook the lines from the existing mountings so they have that
more flex 🤙
