Great video!! Will this work on a 2012 Ford Territory SZ?
if it's the petrol more than likely as it's the same alternator from SY right to SZ. I'm not 100% about the diesel however so best to double check if a smart alternator or not
Excellent vid, methinks that lift you gave the old girl worked a treat. Creeping up to a thousand subs and you deserve it. Looking forward to the next one.
cheers mate slowly getting there - lift definitely helped 🤙 glad ya enjoyed it
Damn I just watched the whole thing. You are very talented!!
cheers mate 🤙 just one step at a time and it gets there in the end
Love it! Needs more Balkan squats as celebration for the conquering.
need more chevaps
Cool vid dude 🤟 yeah that steep climb i did a few weeks back and yeah it's alot steeper than it looks . The mighty Canyonero conquered it! well done 👏 🤙
thanks mate yeah it's crazy steep aye - glad you enjoyed the track too will definitely be back 🤙
Oh boy.. Looks like more maintenance is needed on the Territory to stop the ABS kicking off. I am gonna say a possible Brake fluid flush and change and check the wiring to the sensors. Also check for the dreaded stuck caliper. Other than the ABS kicking off that was a great vid !
cheers mate, brake fluid has actually been flushed and calipers are all good (even rebuilt too), so the brakes are tip top. i suspect the module itself as its always been iffy since day one -
ABS and traction control issues off roading can be caused by build up of crud on the teeth for the hall effect sensors. I live on a dirt road in NE Vic and often find that the ABS and/or traction control kicks off after 20/30km of driving,. A quick wipe with a stiff brush fixes it for a few weeks depending on the weather. At times, I've had to fight the traction control going round hairpins (in just the one direction) and found that it's crudded up unevenly. It reported error codes for centring the steering wheel, but I think the issue was just the sensors weren't averaging the same revolutions.
good point i didn't think to brush the CV teeth - something to consider, i always throw it into traction mode 2 when off-roading as well to help grab the wheels
Hitting them with the hose usually helps but the front ones are well hidden, so I just get in there with an old toothbrush. Seems to do the trick. Can go fine for months when dry, but not when playing in the mud.
sweet as mate good to know might give it a crack - as mine give way around an hour of hard off-roading but then a restart works well
Doing the same thing with my xr6 lol
sweet as sounds sick 🤙 kinda like an RTV build?
I'm waiting you men!! Welcome Victoria
Oh I hate you lol.. Talent and charisma all wrapped up in a Ford Territory !! Project car ??? I cheaped out and bought a LARGE squeezy Caterers Sauce bottle for squeezing in fluids.
hey if it works it works just need a way to squeeze everything in - yup the beemer in the background project rig 🤙
Oh yes, I grabbed a cold one (cider) and enjoyed. Good vid can't wait for the next.
cheers mate! next one bit of off-roading
Thanks for taking the time, great guide 👍
thanks mate glad it helped
Excellent video!
Thanks heaps your a big help.🍺
What wheel nuts do you have to run to allow the centre caps to fit?
i just run the stock ford nuts - they work perf with the dynamic rims 🤙 the longer nuts won't allow for the stock centre caps
Awesome, thank you.
I need engine swap too if he is ready to do
might be best to get a quote from your local indy mech, as this was a incredibly time consuming and challenging job that both of us would rather not do again lol 🤙
Haha. Ford territory being taken to hell and back. Ive got a 2007 AWD one.. i ve never seen anyone treat one like the Leyland Brothers
they built em tough 🤙
@alwaysAWD I worked at a waste transfer station in the northern beaches in Sydney. My first memory of seeing a New ford territory was in 2008. Tony Abbott came in his his one to drop off crappola before he was P.M and was the minister of health. I think the guys a knob but at least he had taste in cars 😂
It Takes a Brave person to attack a fender with a Holesaw.. Well done on your Snorkel Install!
cheers mate no going back now!
love the vids mate always awesome tracks. Love if you just gave more details on the locations and what tracks 😊
cheers mate half the fun is finding them! all good on this video at the end i put a little map of where to find it as its not the easiest even when i was there, Genowlan Summit track :)
Oh yes, what start to the new year. I did actually grab a cold one, not from the fridge as it's -1 C here. Looking forward to more vids. By the way congrats on your engagement.
cold enough to keep the beers outside! cheers mate very exciting year ahead 🤙
Nice one mate 👍Always enjoy your adventures. I'm also based out of Sydney, so gives me plenty ideas for future trips. I have been near that area once but not enough time to check it out, so look forward to heading back. Might wait until it's a bit cooler though ;)
cheers mate glad you enjoyed it, it's something away from the usual Katoomba and surrounds if up in the region - definitely suggest go on a cooler day as there's so much to explore and the climbs are pretty steep!
2WD Kluger is nice.. but Remember to ALWAYS AWD when choosing a vehicle! Um, JErvis Bay Trip Broke the Territory ???
yeah for daily use the Kluger is a killer car - even off-roading it went further than any of us expected! but yeah for the real tricky / steep bits AWD reigns supreme 🤙
new bearings failed barely 500kms after fitment during christmas jervis bay trip - bit dissapointing but at least cars all good now
Awesome work well done . Have you thought maybe exploring Flinders Ranges in SA . For AWD enthusiasts. Cheers Wazza
it's definitely something i'd like to check out some time - this year is so packed might not be till next earliest but i've seen some cracker spots around SA
Great vid to start the new year 👌 Awesome area the Capetee valley area thoughouly enjoyed it this clip and looking forward to the next one! Cheers 🍻 and thanx for sharing 🤙
it's such a spectacular part of the world - definitely won't be my last time visiting 👌 maybe when it's not as hot haha - glad you enjoyed it 🤙
Happy new year, buddy.
cheers mate happy new year too!
Great review of the year, looking forward to the next one. By the way here in England we have loads of snow. The mighty Susuki Grand Vitara eats it, WHAT A MACHINE. Well done on over 600 subs you will soon reach 1000 Hoping you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. See you next year.
they're such an underrated machine - great to see the beast smashing through the snow mate - cheers for the support here's to an even bigger 2025
Gotta love the Toyota Land Cruiser RAV4!😅 I used own the second and third generation (before they make them very very softie) and they were great machines. Particularly the third gen ZR6 with the 2GR-FE V6 engine and centre diff lock. It was a beast! Enjoyed your content mate! Keep up the good work.
thanks for the support mate - good to know around the ZR6, if the V6 has manual and locking diff sheeesh might be a serious contender 🤙 that's it who needs a lifted with 35" landy when the mighty Rav conquers too
Great lil compilation 👌 looking forward to the new year and many more adventures from the mighty Canyonero! Have a happy & safe one 🤙
many more to come mate! enjoy your holidays too 🤙
Mode 2 seems off to me still. Need to compare the SX to get a real idea. The motor swap was not expected but couldn't of happened in a better place. All good for helping out with that and showing off the SX with a 4x4 group. Sorry Chris but still piss myself laughing hammock
was one hell of a year mate - ngl the hammock will never get old. Will try keep the same engine into 2026 this time too haha was a cracking time learning the swap and being amongst the fourbie club.
Good to see u getting out there mate
thanks mate it's the only way to get to know the vehicle 🤙
I thought that would be a cool spot for me to do solo. After that story i think not...
i'd still suggest it as a cool spot to camp - just have a couple candles going for Skeletor
Excellent as usual
cheers mate 🤙
Can it also be done in Toyota Veloz?
Awesome video mate I’d also add the watagans - it’s fire trails and forestry tracks cater for std Prados to comp truck 79s
great suggestion mate - it's a spot i've been meaning to head to for awhile now too!
Good vid nice to see those subscribers rising. Can't give any advice on where to go as I live in England. Looking forward to the next one.
thanks mate i've heard there's a bit of an offroad scene over in the UK too!
Have a look at Yango National Park.. A great selection of tracks and it AWD freindly. Yengo NP is about 1-2 Hours north of Sydney.
thanks for the tip mate I'll definitely add that one to hit up 🤙
Great to see 👀 you posting again, those 5 top tracks/ destinations are definitely worthy of mention. Lithgow and Stockton are hard to beat .... Great lil clip 👌 Cheers 🤙
cheers mate 🤙 keen for an epic summer 🙌 wish i went to Stockton earlier!
whats your country road litres per hundred please, not towing, if available
averaging 13/14 per 100 after modifications which is roughly the same as other modified Territorty's. Pre modification was around 12 per 100 so not a huge change
Go the AWD's... Great video guys!😊
thanks mate was a cracking time 🤙
With drive to all 4 wheels, all you lack is low range & a bit more clearance, so you should be good to go many places. My standard Hilux's ground clearance is not all that spectacular in any case.
i've lifted the Territory as high as I'd like it and it's taken me everywhere so far 🤙 mates Rav4 just needs to pick his lines and crossings carefully but still manages great too - low range would be good for extended sand driving but tbh the rig has gone everywhere i've needed without investing in a more expensive fourbie for now 💪 your Hilux even stock will still take you to a tonne of spots too ez
As always great vid. The Rav4 was awesome, I didn't know it could be so good. keep them coming.
thanks mate that little Rav4 continues to hold its own with the big boys
Looks like you ahd some fun. Only 2 things I would suggest with you guys. Especially not having a Centre Diff Lock, try to maintain momentum over obstacles. Once you stop it is harder to get moving again and therefore you spin tires easier and it is easier to get stuck. 2nd is for old mate in the other Territory, use a Tree Trunk Protector and don't just wrap the winch around the tree. It will cause damage to the strap and eventually break and it can harm the tree, plus he should be using a dampener on the winch but it wasn't a hard pull. Otherrwise it looked like a lot of fun.
second winch was just a small pull, the earlier recovery had the dampener as it was much longer - yeah the day out was a hoot and would 10/10 head out again.
@@alwaysAWD Yeah I could see that was an easy winch. A tree trunk protector would still be nice.
Excellent as usual
cheers mate!
2014 police model version of this car would be way better representation still good build tho
the 2012+ onwards only had the diesel in the AWD not the mighty Barra - so better choice i reckon for ease of parts and maintenance 🤙
Great vid, it's surprising what you can achieve on a budget.
100% mate best way to start off in the 12V setup and get out there 🤙 don't need more than a smart isolator and a fridge
You could have made that track I reckon. Someone needs a winch so you feel comfortable getting stuck sometimes.
yeah a big part of me was tempted, but this was after we got absolutely soaked with everything the previous night and already spent a fair bit of time checking out tracks - winch absolutely on the cards though 🤙 need to get a custom bar fitted first as there's nothing off the shelf for the Territory as it were
@@alwaysAWD nothing was available for mine either.
@@dannthenitroman all part of the AWD life isn't it haha - it's half the fun though seeing how far can push these builds with bars and such too
@@alwaysAWD just gotta get the grinder and welder out. And go for it.
Our 3rd gen rav kills it here. we live up the valley. My channel has a video of it coming out of "The bowl". GPS -32.85633927838837, 151.83365616868218
sick that's good to know - will have to suss it out! guessing the 3rd gen might have a bit more oomph than the OG as well
Well done, you knew what you were doing so you took your AWDs there. Those who plan to learn sand driving there need to do research on traction control of own car, momentum, Tyre pressure, traction boards, Rated Recovery points, safe recovery gears and training. Make sure your dream doesn't turn into nightmare.
all about being prepared, having recovery gear then giving it all a crack to build their confidence 🤙
good vid, your territory looks a lot like my susuki grand vitara. keep going mate you'll soon reach that 1k in subs. looking forward to the next one.
cheers mate the Grand Vitara can be pretty capable as well 🤙 lots more vids to come hopefully 💪
