Secondly; they look at the camera several times during the take. Third; they have that song playing in an elevator. This is nothing else but a publicity stunt by the police to try to clean up their image because of recent years. They probably saw that the cop who sang in the car got very positive feed-back and are trying to replicate that for themselves. Anybody who takes this as anything else than a PR-move is a moron and needs to win the Darwin Awards ASAP.

Most people think of officers (no matter what kind such as NYPD, traffic, school safety, auxiliary ...etc) as strict and firm people who are very serious. Unconsciously, they do not think police officers are regular people who have lives. They feel that (in a sense) officers like to be separate from society and therefore do not joke around. I felt that way too only to a point because i have relatives and friends as officers too. once i started mingling with other officers, i realized that its a completely different story.

Well yeah, but I think she meant, not all police officers are people who always try their best to save people, they do kill people for no reason or very stupid ones. For example for racism, maybe because of the way they speak, heck probably even because of the way someone looks. So not all the police are great people. So, if you were trying to have people be like: „That’s a good point!”; you failed because it’s true, but it won’t make the police look better.
